Chain O'Lakes Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Paved roads run through Chain O'Lakes Campground in Eagle River, Wisconsin, making it accessible to rigs up to 60 feet and reducing the arrival stress that rougher sites can bring. The campground sits in forested terrain near a network of lakes and canals, with boat-in access available alongside standard drive-in sites. It runs from May 1 through October 7, with nightly rates ranging from $16 to $35 depending on hookup needs. Full electric, water, and sewer hookups are available, along with a dump station, WiFi, and showers.

Water access is a recurring theme in reviews. The campground has a boat ramp, and visitors can rent boats on-site for fishing the surrounding lakes. A beach area and sand volleyball court round out the on-water amenities, and the canal system gives the place a distinct layout compared to single-lake campgrounds. Sites tend to be large, with reviewers noting good privacy from neighboring spots. One caveat worth knowing: a significant share of sites are occupied by long-term campers, which shapes the overall atmosphere.

"Tons of lake activities like renting boats to fish," notes Nova O., who gave the campground five stars. Bathrooms are consistently described as clean and well-located relative to sites. Anglers and paddlers planning a longer stay in northern Wisconsin can also look at Anvil Lake Campground in Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest or Hi-Pines Campground among the campgrounds near Eagle River. Reservations are available and pets are welcome, so booking ahead is worth the effort.

Lots of things for families

We loved this place and would stay again. The host was super friendly and helped us out. The bathroom was clean, but we didn't try the showers.

Lovely

Lovely campground near the lakes. Tons of lake activities like renting boats to fish (like we did). Our campground was next to nice bathrooms and a sand volleyball court. Good privacy from neighboring campsites.
