Langlade County Veterans Memorial Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting on the shores of both Jack Lake and Game Lake, Langlade County Veterans Memorial Park gives paddlers, swimmers, and anglers a lot to work with. A free canoe is available for use on Game Lake, the swim beach has clear water with no motorized boats allowed, and fishing access is straightforward from the shoreline. The Ice Age Trail passes directly through the campground, connecting to a broader network of hiking and bike trails in the area. ATV trails and disc golf round out the activity options on drier ground.

Sites here include electric hookups for RVs up to 30 feet, and the campground has flush toilets, showers, a dump station, and firewood available on-site. Reviewers consistently note the restrooms as clean and well-maintained. A playground and sand volleyball court make the park a workable choice for families. The campground sits within Langlade County Forest, and those looking for more dispersed options can find places to camp near Langlade County Forest in the surrounding county lands, including Ice Age Trail Summit Dispersed — Langlade County Forest about 1.5 miles southeast and High Lake County Park roughly 1.4 miles south.

The season runs May 1 through December 1, and at least one reviewer has camped here in winter conditions. Reservations are available, which is worth considering for summer weekends when lakeside sites tend to fill quickly.

The rustic site on Game Lake is amazing

This campground is right on Jack Lake and Game Lake. There are a bunch of trails right in and around the campground, as well as opportunities for canoeing on Game Lake (there is a canoe you can just use for free). The Ice Age trail, the 1000 mile trail that goes throughout Wisconsin, also passes right by the campground.
