Lake Spokane Campground at Riverside State Park accommodates pets with no breed restrictions at its 11 campsites. Dogs must remain on leash throughout this park area with its mix of sun and shade, clean bathrooms and free individual showers. The campground provides flat, spacious sites that easily fit multiple tents and vehicles, with decent privacy between neighboring campers. Willow Bay RV Resort & Marina also welcomes pets with waterfront access on Lake Spokane. Northern Quest RV Resort and Deer Lake Resort both offer pet-friendly cabin options for those seeking more sheltered accommodations. Many campers appreciate the family-friendly atmosphere at these locations, with minimal mosquito and tick issues reported during summer stays.

Riverside State Park's trail system provides excellent walking opportunities for leashed dogs, with paths winding through wooded areas filled with wildflowers during spring and summer months. Nine Mile Recreation Area features lakefront access where pets can cool off, though owners should be aware of occasional goose droppings near the shoreline. Dragoon Creek Campground offers free camping with a Discover Pass and wide, spacious sites surrounded by trees near a creek where dogs can splash. The quiet setting with friendly camp hosts makes this location particularly appealing for those camping with pets. Most locations require pets to remain on leash at all times, and owners should pack waste bags as dedicated pet waste stations may be limited.

      North Spokane RV Campground

      Well maintained and manicured

Very clean with all the trim :) space between units, a dog park and playground, and nearby to restaurants while being just far enough on the edge of town to feel as such

      River Walk RV Park

Parking lot near river and bike trail

It is hard to find many positives about this place. It has nothing to do with the people, but only about the "campground". It is a parking lot. No grass. Very tight. Lots of seasonal folks. There is a dog park. It Is right on the river. It is right on the bike trail. It is close to town. Beyond that. There is nothing that I deem attractive or desirable about this place. So for me personally, we passed. Please check out the photos and judge for yourself.

Peaceful Pines RV Park & Campground

      Week Stay

I’ve never been so harassed before by a campground for having a pet. Definitely not pet friendly. There is literally one tree they make you stay at and you can’t walk the campground with your dog.

      Northern Quest RV Resort

      Great NEW location

This is a newer campground in Airway Heights very close to the Spokane Airport and near the Northern Quest Casino. The campground has a pool, gym, dog park, and has free shuttle service to casino and airport. Very nice bathrooms (just not enough) also the trees are small, but once the trees mature there will be nice shade areas. Lots to do in the area and shopping very close. End of the day I will be staying here again.

      Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

      Coeur d'Alene RV Resort

      Nice Public Bldg

We stayed the night in January and had a late check-in. Paid $69 and had access to full hookups. If you are not there before 5 pm they will not share the code for the bathrooms, etc so beware! Neighbors are told not to give out the code so we had quite a time trying to get in! The public building has bathrooms, laundry, pool, small store and a nice lounge. Lots are quite close together but it is neatly laid out with a few dog parks.

      Liberty Lake RV Campground

      City Slicker Camping

All in all our trip was great. The campground is very clean and well maintained. All of the spots had big pads that were very easy to maneuver around. Very dog friendly park with a fenced off off lease dog park that was easy to access. The swimming pool was fantastic as well. If you are looking for a true outdoors in the woods camping spot this is not the place for you. You are maybe half mile from I-90 and road noise can be heard all hours. You are also in the middle of the town Liberty Lake. Minutes from Safeway, McDonalds and Starbucks. If that is your cup of tea this is the place for you.

      Spokane KOA Journey

      Converted from a KOA

This campground was a KOA but has now changed to “Roam Spokane”. I don’t know what difference it makes. We arrived at 12:15 after a 5 hour drive, with lots of construction, (and a reservation) to be told check in isn’t till 1:00 pm. They eventually gave us our spot at 12:30. The site is small, barely large enough for our 30 ft. Travel trailer plus tow vehicle. 30/50 amp available. Also tent sites and cabins.t Lots of dust and dead grass. The railroad runs directly behind the campground so it’s noisy at times. The bathrooms and showers are clean, one of the 4 showers was out of service! There is a laundry, playground, pool, dog park, basketball court, and dump station. The internet is pretty good.

      Liberty Lake Regional Park

      Quaint & Enjoyable!

Tucked back behind a neighborhood of fairly luxurious homes and sitting near the lake, these sites offer a nice spot to catch a breath while traveling. We stayed at tent site 10 and it has been perfect. $27/night for tent and $38/night for RVs. Pet friendly, great host, facilities, and plenty of space.

    Guide to Tumtum

Lake Spokane forms the heart of camping opportunities near Tumtum, Washington, a small community located at an elevation of approximately 1,627 feet in eastern Washington. The area sits along the Long Lake portion of the Spokane River, offering water recreation from May through September when temperatures average 70-85°F during summer months. Winter camping is limited with most facilities closing after October due to snowfall and temperatures that regularly drop below freezing.

    What to do

Water activities on Lake Spokane: Lake Spokane Campground provides direct lake access with a designated swimming area. "The camp host is amazing. She always comes by with firewood (when we can have them) and she has popsicles for the kids too," notes Kris S. about Lake Spokane Campground.

Trail exploration: Riverside State Park offers extensive hiking options beyond the campground. "There is tons of wildlife and lots of trails and riverbank to explore. My favorite thing was the suspension bridge over the river. Lots of space for swimming and fishing!" shares Mary C. about Bowl and Pitcher Campground.

Horseback riding: For equestrian campers, dedicated facilities exist. "This place is such a well put together establishment, it has the most beautiful breath taking sceneries. It also seems like the perfect atmosphere to really be able to bond with your horse," writes Keila C. about the equestrian campground at Riverside State Park.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds maintain their bathroom facilities regularly. "Bathrooms were immaculate, and the sites are spacious and not right on top of each other. If you're looking to just set up and relax, it's wonderful," reports Kirsten T. about Dragoon Creek Campground.

Spacious sites: Lake Spokane Campground offers roomier camping spots. "The site was flat and spacious—easily fit both of our 12ft Gazelle tents with room to spare, and parking two vehicles was no issue," describes Skyla D.

Swimming opportunities: Nine Mile Recreation Area provides lake access for cooling off. "We stayed here for one night and were absolutely thrilled at how peaceful and quiet the space was. You're right off the water and get an amazing view of the sunset," mentions Taesagh M. about Nine Mile Recreation Area.

    What you should know

Reservation requirements: Some campgrounds require advance planning. "You have to pay online but there's no phone service here! Plan ahead. The spots are spread out and give you elbow room and a good atmosphere," advises Cable A. about Lake Spokane Campground.

Seasonal closures: Most campgrounds close during winter months. "Trees, water access, flushing toilets and showers. Great CG but closes tomorrow (10/21/25) for winter," notes Julie K.

Insects vary by location: While Lake Spokane reports minimal insect issues, other campgrounds may have seasonal challenges. "This campground has way, way too many bees. They are a nuisance can't relax without having to worry about a bee flying in your face," warns Aaron B. about Dragoon Creek Campground.

    Tips for camping with families

Free camping options: Look for sites that work with state passes. "Free 3 nights with a Discover Pass. Really clean pit toilets. Nice camp host. Beautiful nature, can't complain about a thing!" shares Rowan R. about Dragoon Creek Campground.

Swimming areas for children: Lake Spokane offers designated spaces for kids to swim. "It has a beautiful swimming area and boat launch. This year they put in flush toilets and showers," mentions Kris S.

Pet friendly camping near Tumtum: Most campgrounds welcome pets but with restrictions. "Good dog walking around the area," notes Cable A. about Lake Spokane Campground, making it an ideal spot for pet-friendly camping near Tumtum.

    Tips from RVers

RV Resort amenities: For those wanting more facilities, consider dedicated RV resorts. "They have mini golf, real golf, pool, sauna, fitness fun, lounge area, kids playground, dog area, and more. They collect your trash at your site every day, and have a propane delivery service," explains Zanna H. about Deer Park RV Resort.

Hookup availability: Lake Spokane Campground offers limited RV services. "Excellent dry camping, water available, extremely well maintained, no dump, boat launch. We loved this campground!" reports Dennis N.

Cell service considerations: Connection quality varies significantly between campgrounds. "This is a perfect getaway for people looking to unplug as no cell service (tested on sprint, verizon, and google fi) is available," explains Mary C. about Bowl and Pitcher Campground.
