    Rocky Creek (Somerville Lake)

    We love COE’s but….

    Normally all my CEOs get five stars, but the reason this one only gets four is the bathhouse was pretty dirty. Lots of bugs and spiders and just look like it hadn’t been cleaned for several days. Other than that big thumbs up to this park. Spaces are huge and the one we were in was very level. Probably at least 30 to 40 feet between your neighbors. We got a spot that was overlooking the lake so had a great view. That was spot 60. When we pulled in the thirty amp electric was not working, but the staff at the park was Johnny on the spot and got it fixed shortly. Another big bonus was the hiking trails around this park were fabulous. Saw lots of deer and also was able to walk along the shoreline of the lake for quite a ways. Could easily kayak for miles.

    Hillview RV Park

    Quiet and Clean

    They have 3 shower restrooms, laundry room that is accessible 24/7, a fitness room, and a recreational room. Great views and a pond to enjoy the sounds of camping.

    Lake Somerville Marina and Campground

    Decent not great

    The woman at the office could have been more helpful. And there is very little signage to get around and find a site. They don't hand out maps of the campground.

    Limestone Lake Park

    Beautiful lake area but buggy

    As another mentioned the pin is off a bit. Basically turn right instead of left at the end. Had a nice spot overlooking the lake. Not crowded at the time I was there. Be prepared for a lot of bugs.

    Rocky Creek (Somerville Lake)

    Great location not far from Austin Texas!

    I’m new to RVing, and this is only my second campground — but I was really impressed! For around $30 a night, it’s well worth the price. The campsite was level, which made setup easy, and the park offers great amenities like a dump station, a small hiking trail, fishing spots, and places to swim. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, and the park stayed quiet and peaceful throughout the day. I’d definitely stay here again!

    Lake Somerville State Park Birch Creek Unit Campground

    Good size, lake

    There's a good size lake with access to it from the park itself. Nice clean park as most state parks in Texas are. Well, the only thing I think that they could improve would be the pads where you park your trailer on. Some of them need to be redone. I have T-Mobile cell service and it fluctuates between 4G and 5G. I'm able to use the internet send and receive text messages and call out and receive calls. Also I have an antenna for air tv channels. TV signal is good and clear. The closest gas station is 10 miles. There is a Dollar General store for basic stuff. If you need something, that's about 5 miles.

    Limestone Lake Park

    Not as great as people make it out

    This park is not as great as other reviews lead you to believe. I'll break it down:

    1. They don't allow campfires. As in, none. There are no fire rings. That right there takes it off the list for me.
    2. It’s your typical park in a lot and haul stuff to your campsite. Texas really needs to get with the program that car camping is a huge thing.
    3. Most of the picnic tables are uncovered. There are some that are and I managed to get one, but if it’s busy they'll be taken quickly.

    It is a nice area and a good view of the lake. It’s fairly close to the water but the lake it low so you'd have to jump down a bit in order to get to it currently.

    All in all not terrible but the no campfire thing is puzzling. I wouldn't come back. There are better places- Possum Kingdom I'm looking at you.

    Camp spots are right on top of each other. Camp hosts were lovely, though. There are better places to camp on this lake…..
