Why did we decide to build an animal adventure park? We were both divorced, single parents and struggled financially when we met in 2009. It was difficult raising a blended family of seven, especially when it came to finding activities that could be accommodated on a very limited budget. You can learn more about our personal journey on our website, but to keep it short here, we wanted to create a family friendly experience that remains affordable and provides educational opportunity for visitors of all ages. (We did the farming/homesteading for Dummies for you).
*We are a wife/husband team and there is a lot of work for two when we need 10 employees. So, there are storm damaged trees or limbs from logged trees (we operate our own sawmill) and burn holes here and there. As one young recent guest remarked to his dad, this is a REAL farm the animals can come right up to you, and it smells like POOP!

The food truck food is not good. I got sick from eating food from there. Ted stores food in freezer without covering it up with lids. One of the park host was showing pictures. I saw the pictures and he also showed other park host. He is not a good park host. Do not ever let him borrow any money because you will never see it back. Do not put a bad review on Facebook because you will get blocked off there page. It's sad that's how they run a business.

Awesome long term spot. Has a concrete RV pad that you can park your camper on or park beside it and use the very long pad as your patio, which is what we did. Management very responsive to needs and any questions you may have. This spot is on a very quiet area with minimal boat traffic. We had one camper behind us and they were super quiet. Super nice. Laundry at the office for reasonable price to use the washers and dryers.

This place I keep coming back to. It's like ol school its just simple no concrete, have common fire pit areas and they even give you the word to burn at the common area. Wowza!! Fur baby friendly and jus keep dog on leash and pick up after your fur baby the smells of the fire area in the park is outstanding. The park Hosts.. tammy and Jeff outstanding as well.

This is a newer RV “resort” that is still growing. The pool isn’t open yet but will be very nice when it is. There is a pavilion for large gatherings, a camp store, and laundry on site. The roads and pads are all concrete with full hookups. The park is well maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and everyone is very nice. Give this place a try if you’re nearby.

Do not go- booked 3 nights only stayed 2. Only 3 years old, most sites not level. Adult pool is small and dirty. First day lazy river was not running-second day barely moving - had to push ourselves along. Advertise breakfast- not available any of the days we were to be there Entire region is covered in dense trees- they chose to clear cut entire grounds ,zero shade. Cabanas were nice but pricey..

This is a new campground that is just getting up and running. The sites are all large and shaded with a picnic table and a fire pit. Our site was also a full hookup site as was the site of our friends that also came with us. They have a camp store and a laundry mat and a couple of small hiking trails. There are several other amenities coming. The only con is they will move you. I don’t care if you picked that spot out for a specific reason (as I did) when booking, it likely won’t be your spot when you check in. I find that annoying, but that’s literally the only con. The staff was nice, park clean, and shaded sites. I did not go to the restrooms (if they even have any) to tell you how those are.
TravelerOverall had a great time with four other families on a long weekend. You will need a little side to side leveling for many of the sites. The burger I had at the restaurant was good. Others in our group liked their food as well. Adult pool with the swim up bar was nice and had good service. The lazy river was slow as others have mentioned, but that’s why it’s a “lazy” river. All of the staff was friendly. Will visit again.

ScoutThis is a great, non-- parking lot style campground. Every site is covered with trees, and though they are a bit close together you feel connected with nature. Two restaurants within walking distance. Shaved ice within walking distance. Kayaks available. There’s a nice designated swimming area in the lake, and a fishing pier. The hosts are very accommodating.
ScoutCame here because I am going to the Tech Acabemy down the road in Athens. I love the amenities here (pool, Pavillion, gas grilles, dog park and wash, pond, pickleball, other games walking trail, etc.). There are some really friendly people here. You should check it out.

Pros: Great views of the water and wildflowers in the meadows. Reasonable price. Everything works and the shaded picnic tables are a plus. 5G plus signal on ATT for anything you might need online. Downsides: It looks like there could be a lot of water pooled on and behind our site with a heavy rain. The pad has definitely broken up over time and isn't level. The fire pit is also sitting at an angle. We noticed two groups of campers with 4-6 extra cars having gatherings last night, so that might have been distracting if we were right next to them.

We drove from NWArkansas the end of January to purchase a conversion van in Tyler, but towed our 19-foot Coleman camper just in case the van didn't work out, at least we'd have a nice camping trip! We stayed in a pull-though space (#340) which was large enough for our Tundra, the Coleman, AND our newly acquired 2000 E-350 Sportsmobile Van.
The campsites were quiet (except for our dogs, who loved the racoons and deer...sorry!!) and well maintained. Beautiful walk around the lake to watch the sunrise. The facilities are standard state park facilities...everything worked. One toilet was a mess, but that wasn't the rangers' fault. One would think women would be more mindful of the mess they make.
Note that the gift shop isn't open on Tuesday/Wednesdays, so if you want a head badge for your walking stick, you can purchase one at the ranger station CASH ONLY. Highly recommend this park.

This park is in a perfect spot on the outskirts of town. It’s really quiet, has a pond, dog park, walking trail and the road to town is beautiful. It’s only about 5 to 10 minutes from a fairly new shopping center and restaurants. Has a laundry facility on site. Everything is super clean. Anthony is great to work with and is very helpful. Neighbors are friendly and courteous. Wish we could stay longer.

TravelerWe are traveling in a 40 Motorhome towing a car and are coming up on the end of a 7 month tour of the USA gulf and east coast, now heading home to the Austin TX area, We were directed to an immaculate concrete pad site with full hookups. As it was during the week. and it is mid October the park was about 70% empty, expectations are that it will fill up for the weekend only until the winter months when I would expect the snowbirds arrive. I don't understand the negative reviews, and that is the reason I am writing this, my first review ever. The park has a large lounge with a grill/coffee bar/adult beverage bar, a game room, exercise room, and general store, all of which were brand new and beautiful. There is a small lake with lots of floating things for kids to climb on, a children's pool with lots of water features, a lazy river to float around using provided inner tubes, and an adults only pool with a swim up bar. Restroom/shower/laundry facilities were perfect. The staff was very nice. It is getting cooler here in October, so we were the only folks foolish enough to use the pools today. It is a cashless facility so you wear a bracelet and all purchases for food, drink, or whatever are charged to your credit card on file when you check out. We had great included WiFi and streamed most of out television using it, and our ATT phones were 4 to 5 bars. We are "spoiled" RV'ers used to staying at pretty much top of the line, no kidding, real RV Resorts and this place certainly fits the bill. Its not cheap for sure, but it is wonderful. We will be returning this coming summer for a few week stay during our next journey. As it is a new facility, there are not a lot of trees for shade by the pads, but they will come as the resort matures I am sure. I recommend this park to anybody looking for a good experience. As a bonus, it is less than 15 miles from Kilgore, the antique capitol of TX.
