The Best Camping in Congaree National Park
The expansive Congaree National Park in South Carolina has some of the best camping in the state. Near the state capital of Columbia, the 26,276-acre park has campsites with activities to excite everyone. Camping by the Congaree and Wateree Rivers gives campers access to rafting, kayaking, and fishing. Depending on the time of your trip, you may get to see the manatee swimming in the river. Bring a tent and stay in the backcountry near the stand of historic hardwood trees that are some of the tallest in eastern North America. RV campers can also find campgrounds accommodating their larger vehicles.
