Broad River Campgound

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Residential in feel and open in layout, Broad River Campground sits near Winnsboro, South Carolina, drawing both long-term residents and overnight RV travelers to its mix of field sites and more spread-out spots with scattered trees. The campground runs along open terrain near the river, and sites vary enough that campers who request one of the less-clustered positions will have noticeably more breathing room than those in the denser field area. Full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer, accommodate RVs up to 100 feet, and WiFi is available on-site.

Crowding is worth factoring in before arrival. Sites can be close together, and some reviewers note the absence of picnic tables at certain spots. The bathrooms and laundry are housed in the main office, which can mean a longer walk depending on where a site falls within the park. That said, the campground is quiet, and the staff draws consistent praise across reviews. A dog park gives pet owners a dedicated off-leash space, and fire pits are included on at least some sites.

The trail system behind the campground is a genuine draw and reportedly underused. Will J. puts it directly: "Check out the trails for sure." Nearby alternatives include Woodsmoke Family Campground to the southwest. Restaurants and grocery stores are a significant drive from the property, so stocking up before arriving is practical. Campers planning around camping near Chapin will find Broad River a workable base. This campground suits long-term RV stays and self-sufficient overnighters who don't need walkable amenities.

Quiet

Stayed only overnight at this park. Very quiet park, bathrooms were closed to overnight guests so didn't get to see them. Full hook ups(including sewer) which were easy to access. Spots were SUPER close together and no picnic tables, but great spot to stay for a night. We camped at Broad River Campground in a Travel Trailer.  Campground is pretty far from restaurants, grocery stores, etc so plan accordingly.

Mellow.

We’ve stayed here two months and enjoyed it. They have an open area in a field and then a few sites more spread out with some trees scattered around. We got one of the spread out sites and quite liked our spot. The vibe is residential/family oriented. The park staff are friendly. Hookups are functional. Our spot provided enough area to let our dog have a good amount of space on the lead. Nice fire pit on our site as well. The only bathrooms and the laundry facilities are in the main office which can be a bit of a walk depending on where you are in the park. We have a bike so we enjoyed zipping around on that when we needed to get around the park. There’s a dog park that we used a lot and also there are a bunch of trails behind the campground. I don’t think a lot of people knew the scope of how extensive the trail system was - but it was really pretty back there and we explored and found a lot of beautiful little places back there. Check out the trails for sure. All in all a nice place. Felt safe. Felt reserved.

New Construction

New phase 2 Area. Location on map is incorrect. CG is located east of Jenkinville on SC-215. Definitely for both long term and overnight RV. We have been here for a month. Aside from the commute to anywhere this is a good campground. The staff is what makes it a 5 star along with the awesome sunsets.
