    Edisto River Lodge

    Hidden Gem in Ridgeville

This is an incredible hidden gem and I will be returning. Dustin is a great host. He met me when I pulled up and helped me back into my site. That was a little bit of a challenge but I made it. Site 2 has a great view of the pond, a gazebo, fire pit, lots of seating and nice picnic table. At night there is low-level lighting around the site that makes it beautiful. Now, let’s talk about the real surprise—the hot tub. What a find. After a busy Friday morning and then a drive out to Edisto River Lodge that hot tub was very welcome.

The site is hardscaped (pavers) and easy to walk around. The gazebo and the fire pit were great places to hang out. The Wi-Fi was strong.

There is a very nice bathroom with a washer-dryer (and even some soap). The shower is very private and outside.

The electrical and power are on opposite site of what you would expect but I had no problem hooking up.

Overall this is one of the nicest camp spots I’ve found in the past 10 years of camping. Highly recommended.

River's End Campground & RV Park

    No complaints!!

This Campground was great, lots of nice shower rooms, a snack room, fitness room, pool & close to the Lighthouse & beach! A few restaurants within bike or scooter distance. The campground is shaded by Live Oaks & very neat & well kept, we were very content!

    Fort McAllister State Park Campground

Loved to be immersed in Nature

This turned out to be one of our favorite campgrounds (on a trip between Philadelphia and Savannah). We loved to be immersed in nature and like to discover wildlife. We saw deer, racoon, opossum and armadillo at Fort Mc Allister. Off course there are also lots of bugs and mosquitos that is the downside of this swampy jungle. Campground has nice spots, full hook up available, good shower facilities and not to far to combine with a Savannah visit (very nice town by the way).

    Green Acres RV Camping

    Best Place I’ve Stayed

This was by far the best campground I have ever stayed at. Owner watches out for his land and makes his guests feel very important. I’m a travel therapist and move all over the US every 3 months, and this was the best I’ve stayed. Owner is very understanding and is willing to go above and beyond for his guests!! Some people moved out and left a mess when pulled out, by the end of the day it was all cleaned up. Very clean, couldn’t be happier💜

    Hilton Head National RV Resort

    Stay Here

This is by far the best camp ground I have ever stayed at. Clean and spacious sites. The Bath house and private shower area were 5-star hotel quality. Great dog park very clean with separate areas for large and small pets. The pool, lazy river, Tiki Bar and restaurant area was top quality, providing plenty of lounge chairs, tables/w umbrellas, and free pool floats for the lazy river experience. The are plenty cabana setups throughout the pool complex. They were quite expensive and frankly mostly empty for the week I stayed there.(August). Food was outstanding and consistent throughout our stay. My family highly recommends a stay. We will be back.

    Nice campgrounds

Nice, a bit rustic. Mostly drive through and all very long. FHU, all grass and gravel sites with lots of shade. Has a pool but currently being repaired. Animal friendly, nice dog park.

    CreekFire RV Resort

Overall a good stay, will be back

Campground is super clean and friendly staff. Love having the resort like pool/lazy river/splash pad.

Sites are packed in pretty well, but they do a good job dividing them off from one another so it doesn't feel too cramped. Unfortunately not a lot of shade to be found.

Sites are angled so it makes backing in a breeze! And the concrete pad was almost perfectly level which made setup so quick!

    Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks

    More greed than hospitality

My biggest regret is that I didn't read the reviews before booking. I'm usually very tolerant of small issues and I feel that hospitality goes a long way. Unfortunately, the issues weren't small and the hospitality was non-existent. But when we arrived at Spacious Skies RV park in Savannah we were made to feel unwelcome from the very beginning. We arrived at 11:15 am and were told we could only enter the park after 12:00pm after paying a$10 early check in fee. There were several empty sites but we were refused entry and told to go away and come back after noon. Our site#67 was a very small dirt and gravel spot just steps away from a busy highway. Honestly, we would have been better off at an interstate rest area. This is consistent with some of the reviews I've seen on their own website. Here's a summary of what I found: REVIEWS* Unreasonable refund policies.* Little or no flexibility for early or late check-ins* Some guests refused check-in after 8pm, even in cases out of their control, such as heavy traffic. Don't bother calling, they offer no exceptions.* Excessive fees and rules* Claims of racism* No sleeping in hammocks, even on a freestanding frame* Small, dirty and noisy sites too close to the highway.*Cockroaches*Turned away because RVs were not"factory made"*Dirty facilities. POLICIES AND FEES:* No check-in before noon, or after 8pm.(This is enforced, but not on the agreement you must docusign upon booking)* For an extra fee($10?) you can"lock-in" your chosen site.*$10 fee for guests who may wish to visit.*$10 fee for fishing.*$25 per pet per reservation* Retractable leashes MUST be less than 6 feet in length.* Pets must have a tag on their collar with the owner's phone number.* Golf carts(electric only) must be registered and inspected. Factory made golf carts only.* Prohibited Items: include, but are not limited to, flags, stickers, garden displays or site decor that are political in nature...* Apparently, there are some similar restrictions on speech. But they do encourage"...flags, stickers, garden displays or site decor that are meant to celebrate personal identity in a non-aggressive manner."* When you sign the agreement, you're also agreeing to allow them to use your photo in their advertisements. As long as they can extract as much money from you as possible, they will tolerate your presence. Due to their draconian refund policies, we wound up forfeiting all of the money we paid. In the end I don't regret it. We went about a mile down the road to Creekfire RV park where we were warmly greeted and immediately given a last-minute reservation for a lakeside spot with a wonderful view. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all of their amenities, such a pool with a lazy river and a lakeside restaurant. There's also a KOA in Richmond Hill just a few miles to the south with friendly staff, lakeside sites and several restaurants.
