TravelerArrived mid-afternoon, visitor center/Ranger office was closed, our reservation sheet was available in a mailbox near the door with instructions. No human contact. Park was not mowed, seemed a little rough & unattended. Our full hookup site was large with table and fire ring, and required some leveling. Not much shade in the full hookup loop, so was happy to have electricity for A/C. The beach was a little more than a half mile walk from our site.
ScoutLots of good things here. Large sites, new buildings, including the office and all the bathrooms. Only thing missing is a pool. You’re not allowed to swim in the lake although you’re allowed to use floats. The area has not much to do unless you would like the state park, which is close by. Kind of surprised they allow fireworks, as we were here on July 4 weekend. Would definitely come back.

GuideStayed in the fairly new ledges loop that are all full hookup sites. Nice large sites, beautiful area, friendly rangers. Nice play area for kids, water craft rentals, nice lake. Plenty of picnic areas for day trips.

ScoutThis campground is beautiful and has great cell service (Verizon). Bath houses are okay, showers are button showers and are freezing come prepared. The site we stayed on was a swamp! It was terrible, I called the park office and they assured me the site was fine for tents it was NOT. Plenty of other great sites but several butt up against standing water which is nasty.
Overall would come back but would camp at a different site.
