Fern Ridge Shores is a quiet, 55+ community nestled lakeside between parks and a wildlife preserve. It includes large generous RV spaces with full hookups to accommodate all sizes of recreational vehicles from mega motorhomes to large 5th wheels and trailers, as well as park models like this beautiful one at the left. And on a separate road there is also an exclusive manufactured home park which is not age restricted. There is also a lovely marina where you can dock your boat at one of our many protected slips.

Fern Ridge Shores includes more than a dozen lakefront sites. Many of the residents have built large metal carports to protect their RV's from the weather. Others have built private enclosed yards for pets, gardens and the like.

In addition to the long term spaces in the RV park, Fern Ridge Shores also offers dry camping spots lakeside over by the marina. This is for short term camping for self contained vehicles... no services are offered. But there is a dump station and water available to dry campers who may also use the public restrooms and showers over by the office. Staying in the dry camp area lakeside also entitles you to launch your boat for the day. If you enjoy your stay here enough you can inquire at the office about the availability of long term spaces, and you can live right here at Fern Ridge Shores full time!

Fern Ridge Shores accommodates those who wish to stay a short while, long term, or just want to take a spin around the lake!

62 scenic, full Service RV sites, each provided with 50 amp electrical service, sewer, water, cable, telephone & trash pickup. Full service sites are available to 55+ tenants for long term lease only. There is a waiting list for these long term RV spaces. But there is also a dry camp area adjacent to the marina available for short stays with last minute reservations. There is also a dump station and water available to dry campers who may also use the public restrooms and showers over by the office.

A beautiful 100 slip boat marina with new flotation docks, complete with boat launch ramp and running water to the docks for rinsing boats. The marina enjoys a quiet, cove setting with a log boom breakwater to keep wave surge out. Day use is also available. Sailboats are also welcome!

A Manufactured Home park with paved streets and rolled curbs, large pads for double wide homes, water, power, sewer, telephone, cable and trash pickup. There is limited space avaliable and a waiting list. Please call for more information!

    Camping in a neighborhood

Definitely more of a trailer park with long term residents than a short term RV Park. People are friendly and cost is low. But there are no sewer hook ups for short term guests and they do not have a dump station.

    Forested Coastal Camping

I went with a group of five ladies to visit Cape Perpetua for a weekend and we absolutely loved our stay at Washburne. The campsites are forested with a cute creek that runs through the whole area. There are showers, flush toilets, and plugs in the bathrooms. There are two open grass areas for sports and a sandbox for kids too. Its a short drive from the coast and offers full hook ups for RVs as well as an inexpensive area for tent camping. Though it was under repair at the time, we were able to set up our tents at an RV spot (without hookups) for the same price as regular camping. Its all family run here and quaint. Only a short drive from Strawberry Hill, Thor's Well, Cape Perpetua, and Yachats.

    An Oregon Coast Gem!

RV resort for sure. Beautifully landscaped and right on the bay. All paved roads and level sites that are back in and pull through. It's a busy place so tough to get a reservation unless you book way ahead. Walking and bike path surrounds the park. Close to the small community of Winchester Bay that has a grocery store and restaurants. Just a great park.

Great location to the river and wine

This park has full hook ups, wifi and cable box. Most sites are under the canopy of large trees and shady. They have a bathroom/shower/laundry facility.

We love the proximity to some of Roseburgs best wineries. The river is great for kayaking, swimming or fishing. The State park is adjacent to the RV park and has a wonderful kids play area, volleyball, horseshoes and a boat ramp. Great area to walk around every morning. OSU also has their Master Garden adjacent to the park. It’s a great walk while admiring all the beautiful trees and flowers.

There is great hiking about 35 miles out of town (going toward Glide). You can hike into your choice of 12 different waterfalls.

Mark and Diane are the new owners They made sure we knew to call them if we needed anything or had any issues {no issues}.

    Thousand Trails South Jetty

    Shady and cool

This is one of our favorite campgrounds, very similar to Thousand Trails Pacific City. We stay three nights from June 18th through 21st, 2020, at campsite E136, the stay was free due to our Thousand Trails membership. Our site had electricity and water hook up. The site was level and easy to back in to.

Our site was very private with trees and bushes between our site and neighbors on each side. The E loop bathhouse was two spots down and up a flight of stairs. We were a couple of spaces from the dog run. The campground was at sea level and just a mile or so from Florence, Oregon, and a mile from the Oregon Dunes Recreation area. Once we entering the campground, the campground roads are all gravel, however we found the layout and map to be confusing as we got of directions down.

This is a very quiet campground, activities were minimal due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are looking forward to coming back post Covid-19 to take advantage of the closed outdoor pool, hot tub and clubhouse. The campground had clean showers, plenty of hot water and not more than a 2 minute walk from our campsite.

There are two dump stations at the exit of the campground, easy to maneuver into. My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we took a trip to Heceta Lighthouse for the day, geocached and hiked around the lighthouse.

On Sunday when we were leaving South Jetty we passed Dan and Jen Nevada, from YouTube notoriety. They were arriving at South Jetty and scoping out their site, Jen gave us their sticker and business card.  Their Youtube site is https://www.youtube.com/user/flyfishnevada/videos

    Close to the Dunes

This is a typical Thousand Trails and was a bit of a challenge to navigate. Narrow roads and hard to find a space. We did enjoy the location and its proximity to the dunes and the beautiful coast of Oregon.

Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort

3.5/5 - not bad for a quick getaway

The website was not kidding about not following the directions through Google Maps. The last 9 miles to the resort was really trying - the roads were narrow, twisty and winding. If you are probe to car-sickness, go slow. I took extra precaution and dabbed essential oils on myself and my children.

Our pull-through site was in the Upper Marina, #22. If you have an extra canopy for camping, I'd suggest you bring it. It got really HOT when we were there. The good news is once the sun sets behind the trees, around 6pm, it makes eating dinner at the picnic table so comfortable and cooling.

My husband and children perused the bathroom/shower facilities which was just across from our campsite. He said it was spacious - a shower + private bathroom + sink setup and wide enough for a family.

Access to the swimming beach/boat launch is just a short 3 minutes walk. You just have to exercise caution because you will be crossing a main road (cars and big logging trucks rumble along often enough during the week).

The swimming (sandy) beach is cosy (read: tiny). There are no lifeguards on duty but enough trees offering shade for parents/families to sit back and keep watch.

You would have to drive back 5 minutes down the road to visit the Lodge for supplies or ice. The Lodge also provides some light refreshments* (deli sandwiches and ice-cream).

Our site offered full hook-ups including cable (limited channels). WIFI* was a disappointment though - we had to create an account for a complimentary hour of WIFI usage every day. Together with the zero cell reception, it renders us completely off the grid. It's great really to totally relax your mind and body but it is worrisome for that what-if's scenarios.

*Ice-cream was very pricey for the single not-generous scoop in a plastic cup that we bought for each of us. Because of the steep prices and WIFI availability (you have to pay if you want to get connected), I could only give a rating of 3.5/5 stars.

Otherwise, we had a great time at the RV resort. The sites are appealing for huge family reunion (we witnessed such a reunion during our trip). We will be back! 😊

We are a family of 4 (2 young boys with no pets). We traveled with a travel trailer.

    Best on the OR coast!

I’ve been coming to the Winchester Bay RV Resort for over 30 years. It is , by far, my favorite place to camp on the OR coast! They do not have tent sites, but if you have an RV, you will love it! It’s nestled between the marina and the Umpqua river heading out to the ocean.

    Solid experience

So, the place is an RV resort. There is a pool, hot tubs, rec center, (weak) wifi, a gate with a code to go in and out, same for the bathrooms. It has been very enjoyable.

The bathrooms are so clean and spacious and they don’t feel crowded or gross. The showers are 10/10.

Great staff, office staff called to give me entry gate code because the office closes in an hour and the security gate closes at the same time. I arrived on time and staff quickly checked me in and host introduced themselves then guided us to our site. Thanked us multiple times for choosing their Campground. Clean restrooms and showers. A lot of long term or permanent RVs on site. River frontage sites afford the only views with in campground.

    Lots to do!

Large park with tent spaces, rv hookups, and yurts! Oak grassland doesnt provide very many bushes to hide behind, so absolute privacy is hard to achieve when the park is busy. Sprawling and varried disc golf course with some spectacular long shots, and tight trees. Play structure for the little ones, boat ramp, waterfront sites on the renown North Umpqua river (great fishing and swimming), shower facilities (lots of bathrooms, some flushing, some pit toilets).

Great place to just get outdoors, without being too far from stores and humanity.

    Nice place for longer stays

Back in lots are shaded and not stacked closely together. Wifi shows but no wifi. We used Verizon puck and worked fine. Grounds are kept up nicely. Appears there are long term camping sites, unlike many places we’ve traveled, they are well maintained and clean!! Only small drawback is the hwy traffic if in lots 45-70. This was mainly in the evening when sitting outside but a no issue inside. Overall nice place!!

Can't Get Away From That $10 Reservation Fee

We wanted to stay here because we had an appointment in Eugene, but balked at the $10 online reservation fee, so decided to just show up and get a spot, because usually that works out just fine for us.  Well, by the time we arrived, the campground was full (even though it was the middle of the week), and then I saw the little sign at the host's kiosk that a $10 fee will be added to your first night's stay.  Bah.

Hosts were friendly and overall the campground looked very nice and well kept.  There are showers and laundry here.

It's close to Eugene, so it's convenient if you have business in town.

The RV / hookup spots out on the main loop looked more open and trim, but the tent / no hookup area in the back was more lush with trees and shade and greenery.

    Thousand Trails South Jetty

Pretty Forested Camping, a few improvements needed.

The campground itself is pretty typical of Thousand Trails. There are only a few sites that are FHU, one of which we stayed in after moving from a no sewer site after a few days. There are, however, grey water disposals throughout the park. When we were there, they were unusable because the water in them wouldn't drain. The rangers advised us not to use them and to dump stuff in the toilets. The toilets near our first site were closed for maintenance, so it was a trek to dispose of grey water.

We did have someone steal a full 5 gallon gas can which was not locked up while we were there. Our neighbors had their propane tank stolen. The Rangers indicated that they do have people who walk through the park and take things, mostly bikes. Locking up things is a must. We used the pool, the hot tubs, and the main lodge showers, all of which were nice. We will definitely stay there again. The Rangers were helpful and professional. They charge $5 per package delivery if it is RV Parts or Medications.

    Nice smaller campground

One big parking lot with nice bathrooms

Usually we arrive at the coast in December. Rain, wind, and limited dining places. June is sunny and fickle. Might blow up to 40 MPH and not a lot to do. The park has a small putting green, the sites vary in size, with full hook ups. Some have great views next to the bay.

    Premier RV Resort at Eugene

    Well Managed Campground

This is a large campground, mostly populated by big rigs, and mostly long term stays. Looked like a lot of people were working in the area. Almost all of the RV's there are very nice - no long term stay hoarder scenes. The roads are paved, majority of sites are pull through, photos on Dyrt are accurate. We had a 30 amp site and all of the utilities were well maintained and arranged well. Water pressure was good. Everything is well maintained. The women in the office were friendly, efficient, and helpful. It is a very dog friendly park and there is lots of room for dogs but everyone picked up after dogs and we heard almost zero barking. There were a few kids there but they were quiet except for a little play time in the afternoons. Downsides: a couple of the machines in the laundry were out of service (but the others worked well); there is a lot of road noise from I-5; cellular reception is sketchy. The road noise varies a lot though so ask for a site close to the office or in the older section. The new sites farther back are closer to the interstate. The road noise was much less annoying than we anticipated and we slept well. There is a TA truck stop nearby for filling up as well as a diner and a McDonalds. Of course, driving into Eugene to eat is easy enough. We had just 1 bar of Verizon and it was unusable but we had 3 bars of ATT which worked well. The do have a dog wash station toward the back of the park and also a car wash station that is easily accessible on the main road. We stayed for 3 nights while taking care of some things in Eugene and it worked out well for us. If only this place was farther off the road it would really be great.
