Best RV Parks & Resorts near Salem, OR

Several RV parks within 30 miles of Salem offer full hookup services for motorhome travelers. Premier RV Resort on Salem Dallas Highway features concrete pads with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, though sites are relatively compact. "The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. Our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room," noted one visitor. Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in northeast Salem provides similar amenities with big rig accessibility, while Phoenix RV Park and Salem RV Park both accommodate larger motorhomes with pull-through sites. Silver Spur RV Park in Silverton offers year-round availability with spacious sites that are angled for easier access.

Most Salem-area RV parks maintain clean restroom facilities with showers and offer cable TV connections, though WiFi quality varies significantly between locations. Dump stations are available at Premier and Blue Ox RV Parks for those without full hookup sites. Cell service is generally strong throughout the region, with visitors reporting good Verizon coverage and adequate AT&T reception. Pet policies differ between parks—most allow dogs but may have breed restrictions or designated pet areas. During summer months, many parks reach capacity, particularly on weekends, making advance reservations essential. A review mentioned that sewer connections at some parks "are not threaded, so you'll have to weigh down your sewer hose," highlighting the importance of bringing proper equipment.

    Premier RV Resort

    Good Base Camp

Our stay at the Lincoln City Premier RV Resort was good.  The space was clean and the utility hookups were well maintained and functional.  And, staff were very nice and accommodating.  We upgraded to a pull through and in hindsight should not have.  It was close to the road, and many of the trailers in the pull through section appeared to be long term occupants, at least a couple left early in the morning for work and returned in the afternoon.  The location although easy to get both north and south from because it is adjacent to the highway, was in a part of town that seemed a little economically depressed.  I would have rated it higher but for the price, I expected more.  UPDATE  We visited this park for a second time in 2023 and selected a back in site near the north east section of the park and loved it.  We are changing our rating to five stars.

    Columbia River RV Park

Basic Nice RV Park Right in Portland

Located at the northern end of Portland not too far off the 1-5 freeway. RV campground with wide streets, nice office staff, and clean facilities including laundry, clubhouse, group kitchen area and free wi-fi. Grass in-between most spots, with some back-in sites and others being pull-through. Backs up to a busy road blocked by large bushes and under the pathway for the airport, so there's some noise but not horrible. Some full-times but sites are nice and well maintained. Overall nice, clean and well maintained large RV site within the Portland city limits.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Fishermens Bend - TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO CAMPING

Well loved but well maintained park

Pretty awesome campsites right on the river. That is incredibly well appointed. Full hookups for RVs electric and water. Dump station.

Some Tent sites have a built in shelter over picnic tables. Communal recycling bins. Sink dump sites near all campsites. Very nice bathrooms with full showers.

Handful of sites on the river itself. Big group camping sections and awesome group picnic shelter/hall. Day use facilities.

Very wooded and the campsites feel private. Not far from Salem. Playground and activities for the kids. Small info hut and amphitheater. Well loved but well maintained park but is affordable on BLM land.

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Blue Ox RV Park

Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth

This is the happiest place on RV Earth! What a beautiful park! Amazing trees of every kind and flowers and bushes all cared for meticulously. Great wi-fi. Management is exceptional! Indoor pool, multiple laundry rooms, rec room - all spotlessly clean. Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture. We are putting this on our A list and will return whenever we're passing through this area again. Two bars of 5G Verizon. Beautiful city soccer fields and park just outside the entrance to the park. Great place to walk and relax. Recommend.

    Whitcomb Creek County Park

Camping on a peninsula in the mist of Green Peter

Your in the woods at this location, bring your boats/canoe/kayak the reservoir is huge to explore.

The campground is only open in the summer and as of 2018 has some wonderful updates on Loop “A” and Loop “C” (new tables, and site pads, and fire rings). Loop “B” is still rustic and not a bad site to sit. There are a few Double site can hold two campers. There is not water or electricity, bring it in and pack it out. Can accommodate big rigs, or small tents. There are four pull through sites. Best to RSVP through ww.linnparks.com on popular weekends or take your change for any open sites, if no sites available head up Quartzville past mile marker 17 and park along the road for free, only where there are metal fire rings.

    Sun Outdoors Portland South

    Glamping

This was my first experience at an RV Resort. It is located right of the interstate but feels secluded. They have both back in and pull through sites, a little tight with neighbors but I was told it is better than other RV resorts. Beautiful landscaping, indoor pool and hot tub, small market, laundry facilities, horseshoe pits on beautiful grassy area. Yes to dogs and cats and no breed restrictions! They have a nice grassy area with poop bags! Bummer no fires 🙁 If fire pits I’d give the 5th star! Also, within 15-20 mins there are amazing countryside, wine tasting, hiking/walking, Willamette River with off leash areas for dogs, and downtown Portland. Additionally there is an off leash park 8 mins away. Overall a good experience, we enjoyed our stay. My photos don’t show much of the place but their website’s photos represent well.

    Humbug Campground

    Love it here

Humbug is one of our favorite campgrounds. We love the easy access to the beach and the beautiful hikes.  Showers are hot and free, rangers are always friendly.

Cell service is pretty iffy here, but we manage to make it work with the cell booster.

There's a dump station and water fill, trash and recycling, water spigots throughout campground, and firewood for sale.

Tent sites in Oregon don't currently have the 25% non-resident surcharge (though I've heard that's changing soon) and there are plenty of non-hookup/tent sites that will fit RVs. There are also FHU and pull through sites.
