Best RV Parks & Resorts near Coos Bay, OR

Several RV parks along the Oregon coast near Coos Bay accommodate large motorhomes and travel trailers with varying levels of amenities. Sun Outdoors Coos Bay offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service and is situated directly on Cape Arago Highway with beach access. The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park in North Bend provides year-round RV camping with full hookups, including water, electric, and sewer connections for big rigs. Winchester Bay RV Resort, about 30 miles north of Coos Bay, features paved roads and level sites that are both back-in and pull-through. "RV resort for sure. Beautifully landscaped and right on the bay. All paved roads and level sites that are back in and pull through," notes one traveler about Winchester Bay RV Resort.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended for RV sites throughout the region, especially during summer months when coastal parks fill quickly. Most RV parks in the area are pet-friendly with designated pet areas, though additional pet fees may apply at some locations. Cell service varies considerably between campgrounds - Verizon typically provides the most reliable coverage near coastal RV parks. Dump stations are available at most facilities, though Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort notably lacks this amenity. Winter camping options remain plentiful as many parks operate year-round, including Osprey Point RV Resort in Lakeside and Windy Cove Campground in Winchester Bay. Concrete pads at some locations provide easier leveling than gravel sites, which occasionally require blocks for proper stabilization.

Port of Siuslaw Campground & Marina

    Pricey, But Loved It

Parks that are walking distance to shops and restaurants are such a treat.  There are breweries, restaurants, farmers market (on Tuesday afternoon), shops, etc all within easy walking distance from here.

We stayed at a waterfront site, which was cheaper than the "premium" pull through sites in the middle.  With fees and extra pet fees (you get one pet included in the nightly fee, any additional pets are $2 each) we paid $47 for a night.   The premium sites we would not recommend, unless you must have a pull through site.  Those are basically just spots in a gravel lot with hookups.  Zero division between sites.  And they are the most expensive at $55/night.

There's a nice gazebo to use for group events, but it's an odd set up in that there is no path to the gazebo and it's in the center of a circle of back in sites.  So if all the sites were occupied, I suppose you'd have to walk through someone's site to access it?

So pleasantly surprised to see glass recycling here!  We got to dump off our growing pile of traveling glass recycling.  Mixed recycling is in a separate bin.  But no plastics!

There is laundry here, and showers, but we did not use either.  There's a book exchange shelf in the office.

Their website is out of date: there are no dry camp spots any longer.  All sites are FHU.

Good cell service here and their wifi is good and strong, even in the back end where we were.

We liked this place to splurge on a place close to town, but overall too pricey for us to stay for any length of time.

Bandon by the Sea RV Park

    Nice RV Park

Very nice RV Park. Ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Good WiFi, cable and AT&T cell service. Concrete pads level to park the camper on. We had a back in slot but there were pull-thrus also, full campground. Clean bathroom / shower. More long term campers than I expected but all were very friendly. Next to Hwy 101 but didnt notice much traffic noise. No playground for the kids but there was a open area to throw some baseballs around. Visited during circles in the sand. Great beach to explore.

    Cape Blanco State Park Campground

    Camp with a Lighthouse

I have been camping at Cape Blanco State Park for years. This campground is located on the Southern Oregon coast outside of Port Orford, OR.

The campground does not take reservations and can have low availability during peak summer season. Cabins are available to reserve. The campground has free showers, flush toilets, sinks, firewood for sale, and beach access. The sites have full hookups, fire pits, tables, and very long paved drives. A bikers' camp, group camp, and horse camp are also available.

It is very windy here, but the plants surrounding the sites keep out most of the coastal wind and also provide plenty of privacy from other sites. Be prepared for cold weather and misty air. Dump station is under construction and not open for use right now.

    Boice-Cope Campground

    Lots of little luxuries

    —————INTERNET—————

Verizon via iPhone 12: 29 mbps down and 0.48 mbps up with 38 ms ping. T-Mobile: No signal.

CAMPGROUND WIFI - 18 mbps down and 18 mbps up with 21 ms ping. There were 5 campsites in use.

    ——REASONS I STAYED HERE——

    I specifically chose this campground.

    1. It was somewhat close to my upcoming vacation spot in Bandon.
    2. I had to work a ton and needed internet.
    3. The campground has laundry facilities.
    4. Has showers.

    —————BASIC FAQ—————

    [Rig. Mercedes Sprinter. 22 feet]

Dump station? - Yes, but for a fee

Water fill? - Yes, but for a fee

    Clean site? - Yes

    Clean bathroom? - Yes

    Flush toilet? - Yes

    Showers? - Yes, coin operated

    Laundry? - YES!

    Dish washing sink? - No

    —————PROS—————

    • The campground hosts (there’s 2) are super friendly and social. Their dogs are super cute too.
    • The campground is within walking distance of the beach and also a lake. We did a lot of nature watching while sitting at the bench by the lake.
    • The campsites are all black-top paved. Take the campsite size to heart. If it’s listed for 21 feet then it’s only 21 feet long.
    • The SHOWERS. Each round of shower costs $1.50 for 6 minutes for delightfully hot water and good pressure. The shower rooms are individual rooms outside. There’s two. The one I used has a place to hang your bag, a table to set your wet toiletry bottles on, a chair to put my dry clothes on (or sitting) and a trash can. I cannot emphasize how nice it was to have the trash can in the shower room.
    • The women’s bathroom is clean and also has a space heater running. How wonderfully, comfortable.
    • The laundry room. We used it a lot. There’s a quarter exchange machine for $1 and $5 bills. There’s a small vending machine with basic laundry cleaning items. The washers I think were $2 and the dryer was 25¢ for 8 minutes. There’s a table where you can fold your laundry and also work on your laptop like I did. The Wi-Fi signal is really good in there. (My speedtest was actually done at my campsite 19.) Bring a cleaning cloth to clean the table as it gets dusty and a wee bit sandy (it’s still a campground). The laundry room also has a space heater.
    • Firewood is for purchase for $5.

    —————CONS—————

    • The dump station was expensive. We didn’t use it. It’s $10 for campers and $30 for non-campers.
    • For those that care, there’s virtually no privacy at the campsites. It’s a communal sort of campground. Just be aware. We didn’t mind but there was also only 5 campsites in use.

    —————OVERALL—————

4.5-stars - The dump station is the culprit but if you have a small rig, do like a van I saw. Put a bucket under the grey tank valve, collect the grey water and dump it in the dish water drains that are throughout the campground. 👌

    Winchester Bay RV Resort

    An Oregon Coast Gem!

RV resort for sure. Beautifully landscaped and right on the bay. All paved roads and level sites that are back in and pull through. It's a busy place so tough to get a reservation unless you book way ahead. Walking and bike path surrounds the park. Close to the small community of Winchester Bay that has a grocery store and restaurants. Just a great park.

Rising River RV Resort & River House

Cute RV Park near the river

Super friendly rv management and staff- could not have been more welcoming. There are 2 dog runs, laundry, showers and bathrooms on site. Small store in the management office for sundries and rv gear. There are some full timers who live in the park but seem to be isolated in 1 part of the park.

Gravel pad, no cement. 30 & 50 amp hookups along with water, sewer, cable and WiFi. WiFi drops often and can’t be used for streaming. No troubles with ATT cellular service.

Park is next to a mobile home park that may be sketchy, but the RV park is a gated community that needs a passcode from 6 pm to 8am daily. I felt perfectly safe within the park but there is no food or shopping within walking distance. Not far drive though is a grocery mart and plentiful restaurants. Roseburg itself has everything you could need within a 10-15 min drive from the park.

I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

Note: spot 62 was close to Hwy 99 and you can here the traffic if your windows are open.

    Harbor Vista Campground

Great little gem in Florence OR

I kinda like this little spot, although I must admit Florence OR isn’t on my to 10 places to stay on the coast. I find the beach access to the ocean (not river) to be a little more difficult here than other locations. Plenty of vegetation here in the park! Trees and bushes that others have described. This did cause us a small problem getting the slide out on the driver’s side while simultaneously lowering the entry steps on the passenger side. Site 25 if your wondering where we stayed exactly. Our picnic table was situated in the rear of the site. The tall vegetation provided great privacy from other campers, but also made it difficult to meet people. We had water, 30 amp power but now other amenities. Some sites do have full hookups. Our 30 foot trailer and truck did fit in the space length wise very nicely. The park is clean and welcoming. A trail will take you from the campsites down to the banks on the jetty. When the tide is out you can search for sand dollars and other tide pool finds. I work remote sometimes but our pre paid AT&T was almost non existent. T-Mobile worked good. Starlink wasn’t happening due to tree canopy obstructions. Yeah, so overall I’d say the park is great. Decently priced, level clean sites, great scenery, quiet. Cons for me, internet access is below average to poor ( your experience may be different), Florence lacks things that I personally am looking for on the Oregon coast, but you’ll need your own reasons for coming here. Mine was a stopover going north and to eat the best Thai food! That’s literally the name of the place lol Best Thai !  But if you’ve found yourself traveling through Florence, and needed a place to stop for a night or a week, I’d recommend here for sure.

    Humbug Mountain State Park Campground

Mountains and beach in one experience

This was the best state park we have ever stayed at! It is in high demand, so you have to book out in advance if you'd like to stay multiple nights. We were able to get 2 nights, but had to move sites

We have a 37' travel trailer, and had no problem backing in, and the second night had a pull through site. The sites are spacious with a fire pit and picnic table, and room for a second vehicle. The second night we were closer to the beach entrance which was nice, but the highway traffic was a little loud.

The bathroom facilities were the cleanest I had been in at a state park, and each campground had park hosts who were very helpful and actually clean the sites up for turnaround.

Our favorite part was the private beach, with a creekside that is a little more tame for little children. Would love to come back!

Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort

3.5/5 - not bad for a quick getaway

The website was not kidding about not following the directions through Google Maps. The last 9 miles to the resort was really trying - the roads were narrow, twisty and winding. If you are probe to car-sickness, go slow. I took extra precaution and dabbed essential oils on myself and my children.

Our pull-through site was in the Upper Marina, #22. If you have an extra canopy for camping, I'd suggest you bring it. It got really HOT when we were there. The good news is once the sun sets behind the trees, around 6pm, it makes eating dinner at the picnic table so comfortable and cooling.

My husband and children perused the bathroom/shower facilities which was just across from our campsite. He said it was spacious - a shower + private bathroom + sink setup and wide enough for a family.

Access to the swimming beach/boat launch is just a short 3 minutes walk. You just have to exercise caution because you will be crossing a main road (cars and big logging trucks rumble along often enough during the week).

The swimming (sandy) beach is cosy (read: tiny). There are no lifeguards on duty but enough trees offering shade for parents/families to sit back and keep watch.

You would have to drive back 5 minutes down the road to visit the Lodge for supplies or ice. The Lodge also provides some light refreshments* (deli sandwiches and ice-cream).

Our site offered full hook-ups including cable (limited channels). WIFI* was a disappointment though - we had to create an account for a complimentary hour of WIFI usage every day. Together with the zero cell reception, it renders us completely off the grid. It's great really to totally relax your mind and body but it is worrisome for that what-if's scenarios.

*Ice-cream was very pricey for the single not-generous scoop in a plastic cup that we bought for each of us. Because of the steep prices and WIFI availability (you have to pay if you want to get connected), I could only give a rating of 3.5/5 stars.

Otherwise, we had a great time at the RV resort. The sites are appealing for huge family reunion (we witnessed such a reunion during our trip). We will be back! 😊

We are a family of 4 (2 young boys with no pets). We traveled with a travel trailer.

Guide to Coos Bay

RV campgrounds near Coos Bay, Oregon sit where the dense coastal forests meet the Pacific Ocean. The region receives 65-70 inches of annual rainfall, creating lush surroundings for campers from October through May. Winter temperatures rarely drop below freezing, making year-round camping viable at most facilities, though waterfront sites face stronger winds during storm season.

What to Do

Crabbing at Winchester Bay: The harbor at Winchester Bay RV Resort provides excellent crabbing opportunities directly from camping areas. "We were able to cast our crab snares right off the back of our site and limit out. Park has a nice walking path that goes around the outside along the bay," notes one visitor.

Kayaking on Tenmile Lake: Osprey Point RV Resort offers boat rentals and water access for paddlers. "Great water access for boating, canoeing, kayaking. No privacy between spots," explains a reviewer who appreciated the lake activities despite the compact camping arrangement.

Explore tide pools: Low tide reveals marine life near Sun Outdoors Coos Bay. "At low tide you can walk out to the tide pools where you can see various marine life including starfish," shares a camper who enjoyed the beach exploration with family.

What Campers Like

Easy beach access: Sun Outdoors Coos Bay provides a short walk to Bastendorff Beach. "Short walk to the beautiful dog friendly beach (just over the sand dunes - two minutes). They have crab nets you can borrow and a crab cleaning and cooking station to use," reports one camper.

Fishing village atmosphere: The marina location of Winchester Bay offers more than just camping. "Beautiful campground located in a fishing village. Short walk to pizza, fish, and shops. Lots of grassy areas for dogs," writes a visitor who appreciated the walkable amenities.

Onsite dining options: Osprey Point RV Resort stands out for its food service. "Wonderful campground with store, coffee shop, laundry, arcade, rec room and best of all is their pizza and pub. Probably the best pizza we have ever eaten," states one satisfied guest.

What You Should Know

Site spacing varies significantly: Many Coos Bay area RV parks have tight quarters. "Nice park, very clean and the folks are great. Beautiful beach access. The only down side is how close the sites are to each other. You're parked just a few feet away from your neighbors," mentions a visitor to Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort.

Seasonal rental availability: North Lake Resort RV Park & Marina operates March 21-November 15 with boat rentals and swim areas. "Nice bathroom and they also have boat rentals. Other camp grounds are very close but this one has private space, grass and shade," reports a summer visitor.

Tent site locations: Not all RV parks accommodate tent campers equally. "The RV section was packed, but there were small-ish and not super private tent sites leading up to and right on a tiny bluff directly overlooking a lovely beach," explains a camper at Sun Outdoors Coos Bay who found the tent area preferable.

Foghorn noise: Coastal locations have maritime sounds. "If you are a light sleeper and like to have a window open, you'd better wear earplugs because the foghorn blows 24/7 every 15 seconds," warns a Winchester Bay RV Resort visitor.

Tips for Camping with Families

Look for campgrounds with recreation areas: Windy Cove Campground provides family-friendly facilities. "This site DOES have bathrooms, showers, and a large playground. There is no privacy between the sites, be forewarned," notes a visitor.

Beach access sites for children: Sun Outdoors Coos Bay caters to families with beach proximity. "A gorgeous area - the RV section was packed, but there were small-ish and not super private tent sites leading up to and right on a tiny bluff directly overlooking a lovely beach. Very family friendly with some bays and cliffs to explore," shares a camper.

Rental options beyond camping: Some parks offer alternatives to tent or RV camping. "On our latest visit our children and grand children stayed in the cottages they have on site," reports a family who enjoyed multi-generational camping at Sun Outdoors Coos Bay.

Tips from RVers

Limited dump station availability: Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort lacks this amenity. "Great amenities nice clean bathrooms and showers. 3 minute walk to a huge beach. The roar of waves was great to sleep to. Also has crab pots you can borrow and a place to clean and cook the crabs," reports a visitor who appreciated the facilities despite the dump station absence.

Site leveling challenges: Some parks have uneven terrain. "Most sites are paved and flat. Has a fire pit and picnic table. Full hookups. I can see this place being very busy in peak season," notes a camper at Winchester Bay RV Resort.

Arrival timing matters: Coquille River RV Park can accommodate last-minute travelers. "My husband and I were driving up the coast trying to find a campground that was not either full or super expensive. We had just about given up finding a place when we found this RV Park," reports a relieved camper who found space when other facilities were full.
