Eugene Kamping World RV Park

We arrived and were shocked by the facility. Our site was in the center of this small park and we were surrounded by full time residents. No privacy and we felt like fish in a fish bowl.  We left almost immediately and were fortunate to find an opening at Armitage. I would rather stay in a Walmart lot then this place.

I had been in Oregon for a week to burry my daughter and was hit with terrible luck... My truck had been t-boned a couple of days earlier so I admit that it looked rough.  But I no excuse for what treatment I had received by the front desk.

I had started work for one of the largest company's in the area and was broke until I was able to get my first check due to burial expenses and and the unexpected high prices here in Oregon, and had been sleeping in my truck. Went in person to get a campsite and for once have a safe place to sleep and shower, with a side of laundry. Lol... When the guy looks me dead in the eyes and said he was all booked up for the next month.  I don't look like a drugged out homeless person, because I'm not, but I was instantly judged negativity and bold face lied to.

I should add that there were several people within sight that could've been the poster children of homeless dopers that were there and had been for a very long time.

I'm not 100% sure what the GOOD SAM thing is all about here in Oregon... But this place shouldn't be allowed to display the sign.  Never been treated like that openly to my face before.  

I called a day later and made reservations for a campsite for two days.  Can't wait to hear his explanation when I show up.  And especially when I inform my boss.  He may be having a run of bad luck, as I did.  Hope Karma does him right.

Tent campers beware! The tent sites have cats that roam the area and the world is their litter box. The smells at night were rough. The cats caused dogs to bark all night. People playing loud music throughout the night. Screaming kids and adults all night. People throwing rocks. And again, the smells are awful. Very Overpriced. Go up the road or just find somewhere else. I camp 6-7 times per week for the last few months across the country. This is by far the WORST campground I’ve ever encountered.

Hey. It was a monsoon so anything I may state is influenced by miserable weather and not the fault of its location. (Except that it’s in gorgeous green eastern Oregon). But the park is packed… and so were the other parks and this was available so… for that I am thankful. Showers were clean. Dumping was neat. There is a beautiful view from some vistas but beware this, for us, was a last resort, spot…. Many permanent tenants enjoy their time here so… ask them.

So it’s my last day here I need to shave and shower. I go up to the front desk ask for the code. Her response was your not supposed to have the code for the nicer bathroom and why someone let you reserve a 7 night tent sight that’s not allowed. I responded with some of the door don’t lock someone threw a shower curtain out the other night. Just rude rude people.

We stayed here because we had an appointment in Eugene in the morning and wanted to be somewhere close the night before.

Though this isn't the type of park we usually prefer to stay at, it does a good job at being a good, safe, basic RV park.

There are activities right on site: horseshoe pits, playground, half court basketball hoop, small dog park (small is referring to the size of the park, it's for all dog sizes), and rec room.  The free showers and laundry room were nice and clean.  The park as a whole was nicely maintained and clean, though some residents seem to be pushing the limits on that on their individual sites.

There's a little store with basic items in the office, as well as a $1 DVD rental.

There's bulk propane on site at $3/gal, and a dump station (free for guests, $10 for non guests).

Good strong free wifi.  Good cell reception here as well.

There are recycling bins here but they don't specify what they allow.  It's just the generic blue toters that say "recycling."

It's near the road and near a TA truck stop, so there's noise from that, but it wasn't obnoxious.

Lots of long termers here, some of them look really settled in.  Sites are really close together.  We didn't have neighbors on either side of us, thank goodness.

With fees, etc our stay was $49 for a water and electric site.  FHU was just a few dollars more, but since the dump is free for guests we went that route and saved a couple of dollars.  Way too expensive but I suppose it's the proximity to Eugene.  We weren't asked about pets when we checked in, there don't seem to be any restrictions or additional fees.

Nice enough place great staff

This park is ok for a stopover if your tired.  The biggest negative is the counter person who has attitude.
