All sites are 54' long pull throughs with 30 amp, some sites have 50amp electric. Sites 1-6 and 14-20 have 50 amp in addition to 30 amp. All sites are in a straight row along the Hocking River(the sites are all the same with a few trees on each, site 15 is closest to the shower house). You will be able to watch all the people in canoes going down the Hocking River. The Canoe Livery is a 1/4 mile down the road. You are 11 miles North of Old Man's Cave and 8 miles to the Cantwell Cliffs Trail. You are 2 miles to Lake Logan for fishing, swimming and Pontoon Boat rental. You are 15 minutes to zip lining and the Kroger is a mile down the road. We have 2 water spigots to fill up tanks, one dump station and one unheated shower house. There is a picnic pavilion in the campground in between sites 13 and 14. We only allow people to stay in the campground for 10 days out of the month, no long term campers. There is no smoking or drinking outside of trailers. Campground is owned by the Nazarene church. Quiet time is at 11pm. Fire pits are located close to the river for each site due to fire warden regulation, bring chairs for fire pit. There are picnic tables on each site. We are pet friendly and you need to curb your pet. Check in is Noon and check out is Noon.

This was a nice campground extremely central to all frequented trails in the area . We stayed on the electric/ water side of campground . Any staff we encountered was friendly and helpful along w each and every camper thanks fully . Nice atmosphere and pool was a blessing w 90+ degree days . There’s a pretty good size game room also that kids loved . Bathrooms on side of campgrounds we stayed near were under construction. Full hook ups on other side were nice and now we know to try and book over there. One of caves you can walk right from camp.
GuideThe site was angled so we had to turn around before we could back in/park - our 5th wheel is 43’ and it was tight even with all spots not full. The pad was level and full hook ups but the site was small and the fire pit was RIGHT next to the camper. Beautiful wooded view behind us.
There was also quite a bit of mud at the front of campsite which we used fallen leaves to cover but there should be material added there.
Walking distance to all state park trails which was great! Bathhouse was warm and clean.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here! Some sites are full hook up, some sites are electric and water, and some are primitive. The dump station is easily accessible if you need it. 5 acres with everything we could need. The owners were amazing. Very friendly and helpful! They had only owned the campground for 2 weeks and were in the process of making several improvements. The shower house and bathrooms were clean and adequate. There is a small playground for kids. It is pet friendly. There is a nice sized pool for summer (we camped in October so it was closed for the season). Located within a short drive (about 10 miles/15 minutes) from everything Hocking Hills has to offer. There is even a restaurant close by that will deliver to your campsite. Kroger and Walmart are within 5-7 minutes driving for supplies. The only downside is that it is close to a highway so at night you can hear the traffic. This didn’t bother us so much but might be a problem for some.
TravelerWe took our camper to one of the electric hook up only sights and it was amazing. We camped with our 4 little boys and there was never a dull moment or a lull. The forest surrounding our area was serene with tall pine trees and the forest floor was filled with soft pine needles making for a very fun place for the kids to play. There was a playground close by that we went to in the evenings. It was phenomenal and an amazing experience for our kids. We will absolutely be back. Book early though — we got online at 12:01 am 6 months prior to the dates we wanted (4th or July weekend). The full hook up sites were on the main drag, crowded, and not nearly as pretty. It was definitely worth using water sparingly to have the view we did. We also visited Old Man’s Cave and it was breathtaking.

Awesome staff family owned for over 20 plus years. Extremely clean well maintained. Shower houses plenty of hot water facilities were very clean sites are well spread apart. Handicap sites available including cabin rentals fire wood and menu items delivered to your campsite from camp kitchen and store. Sites are reasonably level we had to use one 3/4 “ leveler under the wheels in one side. They have sites that are full hook up with wooden decks prices were 80.00 to 135.00 per night for those that were paved and with decks. All the others were water and electric. “ cable and WiFi “ included 70 plus channels. 50 /30 /20 amp power at all sites. Big Rig friendly. Close to all sites. Trails and state park Camp store was well stocked actually had what you needed if you forgot something. Prices were reasonable Definitely recommended to anybody traveling through the area Owner planning to stay open all year working g on some big upgrades to campground to accommodate winter weather camping. Nice swimming staff was very helpful restaurants gas stations groceries with in 10 min drive.
LegendGeneral: 172-site state park with a mix of full hook-up, electric, and no hook-ups in separate areas plus a 33-site family hike-in camp, two group camps, and three cabins. All sites need to be reserved – no walk-ins are allowed. There is a beautiful visitor center, and the camp office has a small store as well. There is a very nice coin-operated laundry room. Don’t count on cell service– with a fleeting one bar of Verizon, it was just enough to tease us, but the break was also a welcome respite.
Site Quality: Standard issue for state parks with paved driveways, picnic table, and fire ring, however, there are a few things to note: Some sites are decidedly not level (#105 is very sloped). 103 and 101 meet at a V at the back end and this impedes the separation between the sites. Our site (103) had a drop-off between the driveway and the rest of the site that could pose a tripping hazard if you are not careful. All of the restrooms emit a hum, but the wastewater treatment facility is very loud and is located directly behind the first 9-10 full hook-up sites.
Bathhouse: The restrooms were clean, but the showers were just adequate (not the worst camp shower but definitely not the best I have experienced) but at least there was hot water.
Activities: We came for the hiking, and we were not disappointed. This park is gorgeous! We hiked the Blue trail (Grandma Gatewood Trail) to Cedar Falls, taking in Upper and Lower Falls, and Old Man’s Cave along the way, and returned via the Rim Trail, which was much easier (fewer roots and up and down). We received a color-coded map of the trails upon check-in but had difficulty deciphering it, especially the mileage. We went to the Camp Office before starting our hike to get clarity. Once on the trails, they were well-marked with either signs or blazes. While you could do a long hike (12 miles one-way) from one end of the park to the other), don’t miss Ash Cave – we drove there the next morning before leaving. There are also mountain biking trails, two playgrounds (the one more centrally located is a bit dated and does not look very safe but there is a newer, larger one at the very end of the road (near the lake trail) and there are also horseshoe pits and a volleyball net there. In season, there is a large swimming pool.
The campground itself gets 3 stars for some of its flaws but the scenery is so beautiful, 4 stars are merited, in my opinion. I would recommend reserving in one of the “spurs” as there would be less traffic.

We travel around and prefer to stay in State Parks because they are usually so nice and well maintained. The trails here were all over grown with down trees everywhere, they have a disc golf course it was over grown and had so much poison ivy we could only play two holes.
They have 79 sites plus a group site and they only have 4 flush toilets and 1 pit toilet to service all of them. None of the sites were full hook up so everyone had to use the four bathrooms.
It rained the first day we were there and people were literally bailing there sites out with buckets. The places that weren't flooded were very muddy.

My wife and I spent Labor Day weekend here as it was close to Columbus and allowed family to come spend a night or two.
We appreciated the full hook-ups and pull through site. The staff came through every morning to pick up the trash. But, the water hook ups were accessible through a hole/pipe and we had to “fish” down to connect our hose.
The people here were really nice. And they had quite a big staff to take care of the place, life guard, and run the children’s events like Tye-dye, archery, etc. if you have kids, the pool and the lake activities will keep them busy all day and give them a great opportunity wear themselves out for a good night sleep.
The Wi-Fi was good but not free and was worth the $2/day to do some late night binge watching.
Overall, the park buildings and roads could use some repair/updates and there are a number of seasonal/year round rentals that could benefit from some repair and attention. The park is a nice getaway and the people and families we met were outstanding.
We’d come here again.
GuideHocking Hills State Park and the surrounding area is like a page out of a fairytale book. Cliffs, caves, hollows, and waterfalls galore make the hiking experience out of this world. The old man’s cave state campground is wonderful. You can hike into the old man’s cave area directly from the campground which makes it a unique place to camp. It is one state park that actually has full hook up sites as well as a wonderful swimming pool with the waterslide for the kids. The camp store is very nice but it’s not really accessible to bike for the kids due to a winding steep road and traffic. The seven hiking sites with in the Hocking Hills area are just Breathtaking.

RangerWe loved the hocking hills area and the campground was nice and quiet! We camped off on a side loop which was awesome. Only downfalls to this campground was our site off the pad for camper was very muddy and when it rained all the mud washed over our rug and stuff. The other downfall is that the bathrooms are very dirty. We would camp in the full hook up area if we go again
Also the last day when we dumped I washed my hands in bathrooms by the pool and they were so much nicer! If you need to shower I would drive up there!
The pool was refreshing after long days of hiking but the 15 min mandatory rest for adults and kids on the hour was a little different for us as we have never been at a pool that did that!
The trails and areas around are incredible!! Pictures do no justice! We will go back again one day!

We found this campground on the Dyrt app. No one from campground ever retuned my calls. I called the Expo center and a lady answered all of my questions. Over 300 sites, first come basis. Full hookups. Park on grass site, level. We like this kind of basic camping as we have a motorhome and use our own facilities. We would definitely stay again. Confusing to find. Our RV GPS no help, but Google maps on phone brought us right here. On Expo property but no signage for campground.

We have stayed here a couple of times in a tent and a class a motor home.
The campground is pretty secluded but beautiful rolling hills. While the site we stayed in with the motorhome was fairly level, sites are mostly small and tight on hilly terrain. That said, I would still recommend this as a nice weekend getaway
One of our visits was during hunting season and both the campground and the cabins were mostly being used by hunting parties.
This is also close enough in proximately to serve as an alternative camping area for visiting Hocking Hills

TravelerWe went camping in June during the strawberry Moon. We are tent campers, we booked site 185. But once we got there we discovered that the site was slopped down from the pad and not a great place to tent camp. So, we had to find another site. They were booked so we had to cut our vacation short because the only site open for us was reserved for the following weekend. Bummer! There are not alot of spaces for us tent campers no matter where we go. We have to at the least have electric hook ups cause my better half has a CPap he has to sleep wearing. They did have a few premative sites for tent campers. Camp is very well maintained and they are having some construction done on many sites to make them bigger, full hook ups and even Handicap accessable. Great place to ride a bike, or hike or just go for a walk. The shower houses and restrooms were recently redone and in great shape! Though the shower heads could use a changing. Weekends were a bit crowded, but by sunday night the place was cleared out and the rest of the week was quiet and relaxed. Over all a great week. Friendly and helpful staff too. the only issue I had was the state of the Beach, trashed(People there didn't seem to care about throwing their trash around. Shame on them! Also,the sand was so compacted it felt like concrete. Not the best beach. Fishing, well. It seems we didn't have the low down on good fishing spots. All of the public fishing spots were of course taken and along the dam so not great. Lodge is beautiful, and they are doing some construction there. I did not like the food. Guess I am too picky, but when my salad comes out warm and my chicken is cold I do have an issue with that. Didn't seem like they were taking food safety too seriously.

Site 9, non-electric on Halloween weekend was great. We were one of two campers on our circle. Site 9 has a pretty level pad and has the biggest area to camp in. We are across from the dump station and the flush toilets. Not horrible, but e bathroom does have a light so it could bother some people. Most sites in non-electric have some sort of shade but not all spaces are created equal. Some sites are small and the pads can be unlevel . The electric sites are the same where some have shade and some do not while some pads are level and some are not. There are vault toilets closest to those sites and no full hookups. They have a nice playground and plenty of trail to hike. The trees were past peak leaf season but still very pretty. The camp hosts make it a point to stop out and say hello which is one of the reasons we keep coming back. It’s a tiny park, a diamond in the rough.
GuideWe visited during the off season, November. It was fairly empty, which was nice. The biggest, and really only complaint, is that the sites were pretty un-level for being paved. The bathhouse was very nice... and I think the floors may have been heated?
We stayed at a full hookup site, which is unusual for us, but the facilities were great.
The road into the campground was steep and winding. We almost saw a van towing a large trailer tip. It was a bit scary. Make sure you watch your turns on the way in.
The best part was the location!!!! The entrance was right next to the entrance to Old Man's cave, which was epic.
Also, there was a small area to the east that had an interpretive trail that ended with a large cage with some birds of prey, it was pretty great.
LegendOld Man's Cave Cave Campground in Hocking Hills State Park is a large campground. At many of the sites, you'll feel like you're in a large campground. If you stay away from the main roads, you might feel like you're in a smaller campground.
Choosing a Site
Study the photo of the site map included here to get a sense of where you might want a site. You'll be able to see electric/non-electric and reservable/non-reservable sites. There's quite a mix of sites and the map has a legend that will guide you.
A reservation is a good idea. You'll definitely need one on weekends during the summer/fall, or you should arrive by Thursday for a chance for a non-reservable site for the weekend. I've been here in July and mid-September, and the park was crowded. I just keep an eye on reservations on reserveamerica.com.
Electric sites: I recommend sites 152-163, 164-172, and 141-151 because you are away from the main roads (long straightaways). In my opinion, sites 161-163, 150-151 and 171-172 are the best because you're at the end of spurs off a main road.
Full hookup sites: Sites 66-70 at the end of the full hookup stretch (24-70) are good.
Warning about full hookup sites: There's some kind of pumping station behind the sites on the left as you enter so it's noisy all the time. If I wanted a full hookup, I'd avoid sites from #24 up to at least #35 because you're going to have constant noise. It probably doesn't matter when you're inside because units with full hookups typically have closed windows and AC/heat.
Reservable non-electric sites 81-93: I like #92 and #93 and the first couple at the beginning.
Non-reservable sites: #1-23 are electric and #76-78 are non-electric.

Pay attention to the map if the location of showers and toilets is important to you. There are 3 showerhouses with showers, flush toilets and sinks. For some reason, the floor in the showerhouse near the pool was always wet and dirty even in September when the pool was closed. Other toilets throughout the campground are pit toilets.

Scenery and hiking are what make this park special...and crowded.
See photos that show a map and descriptions of 8 hiking areas. Some of these areas are outside the park, and you'll need to drive to the trailheads or take a shuttle ($5 fee). Ohio does a good job of consistently marking trails and posting information boards that show where you are and where you can go from your current location.
Cell Phone Service: It's spotty. As you walk around, sometimes you have it and sometimes you don't!

GuideI didn't stay here but I drove through the campground and kayaked on the lake. The campground feels like a huge field- very few trees, a huge exposed area, and lots are extremely close together. The lakeside camping area looked like an RV parking lot. I was there Labor Day weekend and it was absolute chaos, with people everywhere and kids just covering the street. Not my cup of tea!
The showerhouse is old and not that clean. The shower seemed to spray the entire wall in front of it- water was everywhere.
The lake was huge and open. Not great for kayaking but nice if you have a pontoon or fishing boat.
I won't be staying here, not my style.
