    First Landing State Park Campground

    BACK TO NATURE

I stayed in one of their cottages during October. The cottage is furnished, has a queen size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds; nice living room/dining room combo, full kitchen with dishes, pots, etc.; TV; fireplace; outside deck with grill; and screen porch. There is also a firepit for enjoying the relaxing fire and evening quiet. You have to bring your own firewood. There is a grocery store about 6 minutes away for convenience. Trails, access to the Chesapeake Bay, Spanish moss. manned Visitor Center, privacy and security.

    North Bayshore Campground

Excellent family run campground close to Sandbridge beach

Wonderful spot away from crowds but close to beach. Tent, RV or “ tiny cabin” options. Clean, quiet and pretty. Canal runs around campground that gives you access to Back Bay. Pool and playground. Small store. Super friendly staff. Love it there. 5 minute drive to Sandbridge. 15 to Va Beach strip. Level ground but water collects with heavy rains- to be expected at he beach.

I think pets are OK. Good showers.

    Virginia Beach KOA

    Wonderful campground

We camped in site 364, deluxe patio pull thru. Concrete pad and fire pit, along w Trex style table and chairs were the perfect addition to the site. We used them all weekend. So much nicer than the traditional wooden picnic tables. Trolley runs every 20 mins or so to free beach area and along Atlantic Ave. $4pp over 17yo. Giant water slide, 2 very clean pool areas w a lot of seating, jumping air pillow and bike rentals. Tons for kids to do. Tonight we made and launched rockets. Overall, an excellent visit. One complaint is that people don’t seem to teach their children campground etiquette. We had kids run thru our site all the time. That was annoying, esp during meal time. Overall, we highly recommended visiting this KOA!!

    First Landing State Park Campground

    Great beach spot

We stayed 3 nights in W/E Back In, Site 141, mostly hard packed sand surrounded by trees. The angle is a little weird to back into, but the site itself is nice and feels private. The fire ring and picnic table (old and wood) is at the very back of the site. A pretty nasty storm rolled through one night and the trees actually provided a little protection.

    Nice and clean

The first thing we noticed was this place was clean and I suggest you make a reservation as we did as it books up fast. Pet friendly, great fishing and beautiful views all around. You will find plenty to do and see. We enjoyed this park and will go back again,

    Davis Lakes Resort

    Fun quick getaway

Went with friends to get away for a quick weekend.  We stayed in the Eagles nest cabin.  It had plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 teenagers.  The cabin was very clean and offered everything that you would need.  The gas grill and fire ring was nice.  Fishing in the ponds was good.  Store is very limited on what it has.  The only reason that it doesn't get 5 stars in the WiFi was very limited.

    Virginia Beach KOA

    Awesome Place

The Virginia Beach KOA is a nice place to stay. Plenty of things to do every day. This is a newly renovated KOA, and they added a lot of new sites. Also a new pool with a lazy River. We stayed at a premium site which provided a fire ring, a picnic table, and 3 chairs on the paved site. The landscaping is very well kept. There are some sites that have plenty of shade, but a good amount of them don’t. If you are a family with kids, this is definitely a KOA for you to check out. They provide you with a schedule outlining all of the events they will be having that week. There was a day where a few food trucks visited, including our favorite, a Rita’s food truck. They had live music most nights, which is always a hit or miss, but still fun. They have a dog park for your furry friends. One of the best parts of this KOA is the bus service that runs from the campground to Virginia Beach proper. It even takes you to the VA Beach Aquarium, which is our favorite. The bus allows you to bring all your beach gear and runs well into the evening. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at this KOA and would definitely return.

    Love it

I love this little place in Elizabeth City. There is a little tiny beach nearby & it provides a beautiful view in during sunrise/sunset. There is not much else to do in the area but it is about an hour drive to the OBX so not too bad. I would suggest visiting at least once.

    First Landing State Park Campground

    Great beachside camping!

We stayed here 3 nights during spring break (March). There is privacy and quiet beachside camping all over with tons of activities to see and do. We went to Nauticus, toured the Norfolk Naval base, visited Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown, hiked trails across from the campground and visited the lighthouse Cape Henry. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. I didn’t use the bathhouses but I liked that they were nearby and provided recycling bins. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would return in warmer months and highly recommend our site near the Godspeed boardwalk, 188.
