Nice site by the water

We stayed here for two nights during our trip along the Outer Banks. We had a great time and enjoyed our stop here. Our site had a great view of the water and we could see the Currituck lighthouse at night. Our boys enjoyed kayaking around the sound and riding their bikes to the playground. It seemed like they are working to add more amenities and upgrades so I’d stay again next time we make it that way. Also, Diggers Dungeon is only a few miles away so if you have kids make sure to stop and let them see the monster trucks.

Waterview

Paid for a water view spot, got a spot obscured by trees. Internet kept cutting out TV last night. Other than that it has been ok so far.

Best if you plan to stay for a long period

We only stayed here a couple nights. Not a bad campground. It had gorgeous views and the kids liked the sound. This campground is best if you plan to stay a week or so. It’s not close to anything or any lighthouses. They do have a boat ramp so if you plan to camp and fish this would be a great spot.

Expensive but loved it

We were there mid-summer, picked a premium waterfront spot, so, yes, expensive. We had beautiful views, a lot of space, didn't feel cramped or crowded. Plenty of open and wooded areas to explore. Store scoops ice cream! Plenty of kid activities. The sound was fun to float in. Would be an awesome campground if it had a pool. We will definitely return.

Needs more work to be worth the fees

This campground is less than 2 years old. They charge a daily $4.99 resort fee and I still have no idea why. There is no pool yet, waiting on an issue with the city. When we were there the midgets were so bad our RV was covered in them at night. Check your site carefully in you pay for a water site, some have trees covering the view and a lot have a big marsh area

Very quiet and peaceful

We came for a weeklong working trip. I brought my laptop to work from home and this place was perfect. The view was beautiful and the weather was great at night to just sit outside and enjoy the view. It was a very quiet camp with a great dog park. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Relaxation on the Sound.

This KOA is actually still under construction. As with everything else Covid-19 has set it back. But there are many sites available. A lot of the amenities are already available. Dog park, shower house, store, children's play area and they can fill your propane tanks for you. Full hookups with WiFi and cable. Drive through and back in sites with water views all around. We spent a week there and it was so relaxing. They also rent campers and little trailers. Check out their website.

DICUSSED

This campground is full of bugs. It also lacks the basic cleaning of bathhouses. They are full of bugs and dirt in both the outside and inside showers and management does nothing to change it.  When I complained I was given excuses. Would I stay there again NEVER.

Disappointed

Super excited to get there but once there I was given our set number. We pulled up to the site to find someone else on the site. Was told by an employee checking us in that they change peoples site and forget to put it in the computer. I was given a site we barely fit on with a major power box on our site. We paid a lot of money for a nice WF site. Also when checking in the girl at the front desk was very rude to a fellow employee over the walkie because they put a 40ft RV into a site that they did not fit in. Overpriced, unprofessional and several (not all) unprofessional employees
