Sprague Brook Park provides tent and RV sites with some electric hookups in a well-maintained setting about 15 miles south of Orchard Park. Darien Lakes State Park Campground, located approximately 20 miles east, offers tent, RV, cabin, and yurt accommodations with multiple access options including boat-in, drive-in, and hike-in sites. Bathrooms with showers were spotless," noted one visitor about Sprague Brook Park. Reservations are recommended at most established campgrounds, particularly during summer weekends and holidays. Facilities vary significantly across locations, with some offering full hookups for RVs including water, electric, and sewer connections, while others provide more basic amenities. Several visitors mentioned clean facilities as a highlight at Sprague Brook Park, which offers playgrounds for children and fishing opportunities in a small pond. Reviews indicate that while some campgrounds like Colden Lakes Resort provide a peaceful atmosphere with "four small pristine lakes," others like Three Valley Resort can feel more crowded with "sites a little packed." Proximity to attractions represents another advantage, with Darien Lakes State Park offering a quieter alternative to the nearby theme park. Many campgrounds provide recreational activities including hiking trails, fishing, and swimming areas. Winter activities are available at some locations, with Sprague Brook Park offering sledding and cross-country skiing paths during colder months.

      Letchworth State Park Campground

Well run and beautiful state park

Stayed here in our Class B. Had a nice site in loop 4. Only complaint really is other guests cranking some kind of contemporary R&B with very loud bass, like we should all like their music. 4 sites away, it was pretty loud. The hiking, the falls were great. Tons to do, spectacular views. The park is 17 miles long folks. Camping is north, the falls are south. You can hike all the way down. Its perhaps one of the most impressive displays of CCC work i have seen. Stone tables, picnic pavilions, walls, steps, just amazing work and maintained nicely. Check is easy, plenty of places for trash, fresh water. Showers were not bad, two per building per gender. Of course i picked one that backed up so i was in standing water. I reported it and 24 hours later it was the same. Oh well it was hot and felt great and i didn’t get hoof and mouth disease or anything. One thing - MAJOR league poison ivy , everywhere, surrounding every campsite. Beware.

      HTR Niagara Campground

      Super place!

We spent a long weekend at HTR Niagara to visit Niagara Falls and Canada. Wow, are we glad we did!

      WHAT I LIKED:

      — This campground is a short drive to Niagara Falls and the Canadian border

      — The park is beautiful with a great balance of natural and well-maintained

      — Our site was level and clean+ the hookups worked just fine

      — Each interaction with staff was friendly and welcoming(that’s no accident)

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE SO MUCH:

      — Just to nitpick, the wifi was too slow for streaming on TV, which we wanted to do on a rainy day

      WOULD WE COME BACK?

      — Absolutely, this is a great campground with lots to do in a clean and enjoyable setting

      Darien Lakes State Park Campground

      Friendly helpful staff, quiet spot

Large well maintained campground with many different types of sites. The staff is amazing and will help you find something - in person or by phone. Our site was tucked into the woods and felt very private. Lake for swimming, fishing, paddle boarding and kayaking. The bathrooms were dated but clean, with warm showers.

      Skyline RV Resort

      Enjoyable location

I was to Skyline in May 2026 - Opening weekend. My site was on Pine, easy in and easy out. You are in a mix of seasonals and weekenders. First off, the check in was easy and quick, the woman at the desk was friendly and upbeat. I arrived to a campsite that was clean, very clean. The lot was grass and had a slight slop to it, the trailer spot was all gravel and level. it rained one day hard real hard and there was no real standing water. There are old trees on the sites all are trimmed up and clear of dead branches. You could get a 13'6" trailer in without worrying about branches. The facilities were in clean and in working order. There was a free chili dinner on Saturday night at the rec hall. They had the hockey playoffs on a big screen and a band also. You are out in the country at this spot, Alden is not too far up the road, you have most stores there for items needed.  Nice place!

      HTR Niagara Campground

      Family friendly!

Plenty of activities to keep yourself busy with. They had mini golf, zip lining, a nice playground, a pool and hot tub. About a 15 min drive to Niagra Falls!

      Lakeside State Park Campground

      Good camp ground

Stayed here for 3 nights. Loop G has basically no tree coverage, so if we come back again, we’re doing a different loop! Nothing to complain about. Clean bathrooms. Camp store has strange hours and has few things in it.

      Shamrock Pines Campground

      Established and welcoming!

These people know what they are doing. We loved that the campground had its own music at the pool instead of dealing with everyone's individual speakers. The bathrooms were very clean and obviously cleaned every morning. The campground is huge and has great places for bikes or electric golf carts! They had great music and the other campers were very nice and respectful people. We stayed here as home base to visit Ellicotville and an Alpaca farm. Both were very close to the camp. I would love to visit again in the fall.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

      Site 35

The campground was very clean, shower and bathroom were clean and nice, Lake Ontario within walking distance was great - beautiful sunsets.

Location was about 15 minutes to Niagara Falls and camping here came with free parking to all state park sites (like Niagara Falls!)

Our site was against the woods which was nice but most sites seemed to be in a more open field area.

For our kids, the large playground was also nice!

    What campers like

Clean, modern facilities: Many campgrounds maintain well-appointed bathhouses with regular cleaning schedules. "The bathrooms were seriously nicer than most home bathrooms. Beautiful! Grounds were very well kept & staff friendly," shares one camper about HTR Niagara Campground.

Spacious campsites: Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground offers larger-than-average sites, many with lake views. "Great campground, they have it all, a huge lake to swim in, a salt water pool, fitness center, well stocked store, small restaurant with finger foods. If you camp in a 40ft motor home, travel trailer, 5th wheel, or tent they have a place for everyone," notes a visitor.

Proximity to attractions: Several campgrounds serve as convenient bases for regional sightseeing. "Located a short drive to the Falls, on the 'less busy side,' to boot! Sites for all types of camping available as well as nice new cabins and yurts for rent!" reports one HTR Niagara visitor.

    What you should know

Seasonal operation: Most camping facilities near Orchard Park operate from approximately May through October, with limited winter options. Six Flags Darien Lake Campground runs a specific season from "May 10 to Oct 31," according to their listing information.

Reservation requirements: Weekend bookings fill quickly during summer months. Evangola State Park Campground requires advance planning, especially for lakefront sites. "Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie... There are three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping," explains a visitor.

    Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground provides full-service sites with water, electric and sewer connections. "The campground itself is pretty and well kept. Some sites are a little tight, but most people aren't there to camp, they're going to the park or a concert, or both," explains one RVer.

Site dimensions: Many campgrounds can accommodate larger rigs, but advance research is recommended. "Sites are easy access, rock bed for the sites, you are escorted to site. Easy access to local attractions, including Niagara Falls," notes a visitor to Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA.

Dump station access: Most campgrounds without full hookups provide dump stations for convenience. "We had a back in spot but tons of room on our site. All of the sites were roomy. Some are shady. This campground is in a great location and easy to find. The campground was easy to maneuver our large 5th wheel around," reports an RVer at HTR Niagara Campground.
