Need to learn to clean bathrooms

Love the campgrounds and beach. However, this year the restrooms were disgusting!!!. We were here for 3 nights and the same washcloths were on the floor all weekend. Sinks and counter never cleaned, mouse feces were everywhere. Even after going in right after the 2 young girls were done "cleaning", it looked like it was never touched except toilet seats were up and trash empty. Was really disappointed. We were in the last loop.

Great campground

We stayed here three nights to ride out a heat wave and really liked it. Sites are electric only, with a dump station available at the entrance and one in the campground loop. There are potable water spigots throughout the campground, where you awkwardly pull over to the side of the road and fill your tank.

Sites are pretty much wide open, with zero separation between you and your neighbor. Most are out in direct sun but the ones along the edge have some tree cover and shade.

There are yurts here as well, and a playground, and a huge disc golf course. You can walk to the beach from the campground (dogs aren’t allowed on the beach). The nature center is right in the campground, by the basketball and tennis courts. Showers were dirty and buggy, but they’re free and you can actually choose your own water temperature.

NY State campgrounds require proof of rabies vaccinations for your dogs. Good cell reception for Verizon, ATT wasn’t great but the cell booster helped. Trash bins, but no recycling. Beautiful sunset on the lake.

Tent site area is a mud pit

Scenery is beautiful, swimming is great, and the bathhouse is decent. The tent area is a mud pit and sites were pretty tight in that field mud pit. The access to the beach almost made up for it. Just for some perspective though, the iron fire rings had rusted through holes in the ground area, couldn't even stay flush to the ground. The fire rings had to be moved because they sunk into the mud and had three inches of water in the bottom.

Nice but not great

The facilities in the campground are very good (relatively new bath house with nice clean showers). The campsites are a good size although most have no natural shade or privacy. My only real complaint is that this seemed like a "party park" with music playing and people being loud after quiet hours. In addition, the beach area had a lot of trash laying around.

Solid

Pros: good swimming, clean bathrooms, easy access off 90 (convenient) Cons: little to no separation between sites, easy access off 90 (busy)

Busy Campground. No Privacy

This is a huge park on Lake Erie about an hour from Niagara Falls. Th day-use picnic area and beach are quite nice, clean, and well cared for.

The campground is another story. The tenting are is basically a field with no privacy. Yo can see the lake on the other side of a chainlink fence. In wet or rainy weather the whole thing becomes a swamp.

The RV sites are also close together, although a few of them seemed private. There are also 5 yurts that w really nice. Restrooms were filthy, with hair, empty shampoo bottles, and razors on the floor. Dumpsters were all really full and we didn’t see any staff people at all.

If you do visit, I suggest going for the day to picnic and swim, and skipping the campground.

Peaceful, and tranquil.

Thus campground is on Lake Erie in Evans, NY. The tentsites offer access to the beach where there is plenty of drift wood for your campfire. There is a lodge with games, arts and craftes educational activities for all ages. Also there is a fishing pond.

Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie

Unfortunately, my site did not.

However, my site wasn't crowded and the electricity was reliable. This campground has three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping. There are several places to get water in the camp, so be sure to fill up your tanks before you park. There is a dump station. None of the sites are full hook up.

Each site has a picnic table and a grill.

There are two bath houses. The newer one - between loops one and three - also has laundry facilities.

Your payment for your campsite entitles you to admission to the beach, which is a hike or a drive away.

Park is great, campground is not private enough

Our site was large enough, but there was no privacy. Every site is just open to all the rest. Our neighbors on one side were very nice, but in front of us had 3 large, loud dogs that scared my children the entire time. The lake was nice, but wear water shoes, as the rocks stick up and are sharp in spots.

busy place!

The time we spent at Evangola must have been a prime camping time because the campground was quiet busy! Our siites was not very secluded but was spacious. The facilities were quite clean but a bit of a walk from our site. It was very cool that you could hear the waves at night.
