Nice stop on way to Niagara Falls

Beautiful State Park with friendly staff and campers. Windy, clean bathrooms w showers, flat sites. Sites on lake are not open - but sites across have good views as well. Lots more than just the campground

Nice campground, but busy

We just stayed here one night on our way to central NY. We had booked 2 nights in 67A even though we were just staying one because there was a 2 night minimum and we couldn't find any other campgrounds with availability in the area. Someone was in our site when we arrived so we had to contact the park rangers and wait about 45 minutes until it got sorted out. They were able to contact the people, who were about 30 min away. Luckily we were only staying one night and were able to just take their spot(67). Otherwise, it would have been a longer wait for them to come back and move their rig. The park rangers were very apologetic and helpful about the situation even though it wasn't their fault. There was decent space in between the sites and the campground was very crowded the night we were there. You can walk down to Lake Erie and there's also a few short trails in the park.

So nice we camped there twice!

Great campground. Mid week it is very quiet with less than 10% of the sites filled. Friday night arrives and so do the regulars. Tight knit community that welcomed us openly.

Great State Campground

Great campground right on the lake.  There is a nice nature trail that you can take the dogs on and a little beach to go do some swimming.  The park itself is clean and has showers and restrooms.

When going here, make sure you have what you need.  It really is a good 30-minute bike ride or a 15-minute drive to town, and in an RV be aware there are some low bridges in the area.

Overall a great experience and we will be back!

Good-would stay again

Site was level. Sites were great size/ plenty of “yard space”. Some of the electrical pedestals were far from the gravel parking pad. Bathrooms - not good! There had been crazy rains for a week before we arrived & continued to rain 2 more days so it was WET & MUDDY!

Comfortable, clean, has some history.

I took my kids here about 25 years ago and remembered it fondly. It’s every bit as nice now. Views of Lake Erie are spectacular. Nice walking trails, and there’s a disc-golf course and playground. Bathhouses are clean. Nice old trees and a few historic buildings around. Really comfortable. We couldn’t get a lake-side site but that would be spectacular.

Sunsets are worth it!

We stayed here two nights and traveled around the area. It was located near the things we wanted so we wouldn’t have normally stopped, but glad we did both nights as the sunset was for sure worth it. Sites were pretty sunny so glad we had our sun shade along with us.

Lovely lake breezes - sites very close!

Great site with electric and water pumps close for filling before setting up camp. Sites are very close. You are on top of each other. The beach is not really a beach but a rocky mess. Lovely sunsets. Small commode and shower stalls. Use the larger bathhouse near the cabins. The bathhouse at the beach is under construction. Lovely sunsets were the best part.

Family friendly & beautifu

The area is beautiful- quiet with lots of wildlife (chipmunks, squirrels, roads, etc. Nice open space and playgrounds for kids to run, beautiful trails to hike, and paved circles for scooters. Very family friendly, with a beautiful waterfront area for boating and swimming.

our campsites got lots of direct sunlight in the morning, but there were shady spots to sit no matter what time of day.

Small but very nice.

This campsite is small and the spots are close, but it's a great little place to camp. Steps away from the lake which provided some great sunsets! Me and my wife had a great time. We will be back!

Pretty lakeside site in rural WNY

This park is right on the lake near the PA border. Flat short trails through the forests or walk along the beach. If you’ve been to a lot of other Lake Ontario or Erie sites this one might not stand out, but it is very pretty and those from out of town are always blown away by this (and other) lakeshore park. Check out the music & arts schedule at the Chautauqua Institute nearby. Not too far from Niagara Falls. Close to Rt. 90 so there are often lots of RVs. I haven’t heard any road noise here. Amazing sunsets right from your tent and lots of places to hang a hammock for a few hours. Pretty standard basic state park campground facilities, but clean. Get here as early in the afternoon as you can so you can get a site close to the lake! They also have cabins but they seemed a little outdated from the outside.

Pretty but loud

The lake was one of the coolest lakes I've ever seen and the sites are beautiful right on the lake. Our fellow camping neighbors were very loud and partied for a lot of the night. Their dogs were barking all night. Besides the other campers, this place was beautiful and I would recommend it to kayakers and site seers.

the water

Great site right on the water. There were some trees around which helped minimally with privacy. The sites are a good size. Privacy was not great, but the tent only sites looked to have more privacy. Definitely a campground that you want to scope out the sites before choosing. The park was great, the campground was okay.

Beauty on the Lake

Camping on the shores of Lake Erie is sure to be an unforgettable experience. I was blown away when i walked up to the shores of the mighty lake, and the state park offers some of the best camping on these shores. There is not a great deal of privacy from your neighbors, but the park gives you good access to multiple trails and launch sites for boats, canoes, and kayaks. I was feeling lazy during my stay and hung out around the lake and enjoyed a relaxing day of reading and sunbathing. A beautiful spot for sure!
