Very clean campground with all the necessary amenities!
FSR 181 B is a dispersed corridor, and on the little stretch of road there are like 6 sites. They aren't super close, but closer than I expected from dispersed camping. Travel further down 181 across the little canyon and there are more spread out sites, but they are also more exposed.
First, this campground is clean and well kept; Pavement throughout. However, if you are coming with a large RV, you may not find a suitable space. They advertise up to 40’, but there are only a few sites that can accommodate anything that large. We have a 25’ fifth-wheel and there were a lot of…
It was great. We felt VERY safe and noticed regularly patrolling park rangers. I walked into the restrooms and they were in the middle of cleaning them. It was very clean and no trash anywhere on the grounds. Water spigots are everywhere, too. Well-stocked lake.
This campsite is hidden just below the bathroom on the West end of the big parking lot. Most campers pitch tent in the wooded area in the center of the parking lot - this is off the west end of the parking lot. Wonderful trails and you get to camp right in the middle of an aspen grove.

We stayed here 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend. Got in Thursday night and there were plenty of sites to choose from. As other reviews have said, the sites are spaced out well and there were always sites available throughout the weekend. We camped on the road that immediately turns to the…

Very well maintained campground that is remote enough to get away but close to town in case you need something. Weather was great and the surrounding trails were beautiful!

Great location with immaculate grounds. Staff are friendly and other than a little road noise very peaceful.
We called ahead and got the last available site. Person I talked to was very cheerful and helpful. FHU including cable and everything worked well. Some highway noise but not terrible. Nice kids playground and a dog area. Can't review toilets or showers but a lot of updates going on and looked nice.…
Well kept, neighbors were friendly, and the sound of the river was soothing. Camping spaces weren't packed together but not so far apart to be considered private. I'd happily come here again :)
This place is super convenient to Santa Fe. Easy to find and plenty of spots. We opted not to camp in the “lot” where a lot of people set up. We drove back the road a bit further for some privacy. The area is very dusty. Given the proximity to town there were some campsites that had a degree…
We stayed 2 nights there when nothing around was available. When I called the young lady was very helpful getting us a spot. The sites are tight and are terraced up a hill. Nice dog park. We were thankful to get a spot at a busy time.
We initially went to the left but were intimidated by the narrow road and didn't want to get in a pickle. We ended up camping to the right in the field because the road got a little rough further in...although we walked in later and it wouldn't be too difficult to access the nicer sites further…
Not good for large trailers but if you have a smaller one or tent camping, this place is great. When it is full it is still fine as it seems people there are decent and know their manners. (becoming unusual these days) Will stay there again.
This is also known as American Springs Dispersed Camping. We stayed in site fairly close to the entrance and off to the right on the East spur for 6 days in a 36’ motorhome and Cherokee Trailhawk. All of the sites are very well spaced, most being a hundred to several hundred yards apart. Ours was…
