Best Cabin Camping near Keene, NH

Great campground. The pools are amazing. Kid pools. Adult pools! Adult hot tub.

Very family centric, 7 pools which (include 2 hot tubs, a small 2x2 pool for kiddos, 1 adult only pool and 3 family pools). We went for halloween weekend in August and their haunted house was incredible for a campground! Nicely landscaped although the roads are very narrow. Made it hard to back in our spot. Will be coming back!

I have been camping here for my entire life. As a kid and teenage seasonal. Now as an adult I camp here probably once or twice a year with a tent. 

This place has just about everything a campground can offer. Organized bingo, hayrides, large pools, an adult only pool, hot tubs, a pond, etc. 

My biggest gripe is the limit of 2 adults MAX per site. As an adult with no kids I would like to bring along another couple once in a while that also enjoys camping. This would require me to get a 2nd site from the already very limited tent sites available. With Cold Springs being on the expensive side for sites, allowing 4 adults should be allowed.

They already allow 2 tents and 2 vehicles per site, but arbitrarily restrict to 2 adults.

This KOA is what you expect from a KOA– lots of amenities, sites of all sizes and levels of cost, tons of activities, and in a vacation destination area. We spent five nights at the campground and found lots to do in the area and that we had an enjoyable and pleasant stay. 

The park is a large park that is terraced since it is in a pretty hilly area. There is the range of sites from pull-thrus, pull-ins and back-in sites and can accommodate RVs of any size. Some sites are full hookup while others are not and that is reflected in the cost. We paid $57/nigh for our full hookup site which is pretty costly especially since we did not use any of the amenities. Most sites are gravel with gravel patios but there are deluxe sites with paved patios, patio furniture, umbrella, and gas bbq grill. There are also camping cabins, some of which have kitchenettes and bathrooms that sleep six people. 

Our site, was located in the back of the park in a quieter section because it was away from most of the activities and park entrance. The site was a pull-in which was kind of nice because the view out of our front windshield was of a wooded area. Our fire pit was in the front of our site so there was a nice amount of privacy when we sat outside by a campfire and didn’t feel like we were on the side of the road. Despite the hilliness of the park and all the trees, we did not have any trouble navigating our 45’ RV to our site. The trees at our site would prevent satellite television reception but our site had cable and we got about 20 or so channels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Like many KOAs there are tons of amenities and things for kids to do – swimming pool, fishing ponds, bike rental, scheduled activities, propane sales, camp store, fire wood delivery, and more. There is a fenced dog park which was a fairly good size and our lab was happy to chase a ball. 

As a whole, the park was very clean and manicured. No trash laying around and the gravel roads were free of potholes. The campground is located near the Queechee Gorge, covered bridges, hiking trails (including sections of the Appalachian Trail), good dining, maple syrup/cheese farm, the Marsh Billings- Rockefeller National Historic Park.

Quechee/Pine Valley KOA campground offers so much, even for people who don't like to camp. There are campgrounds for all types of camping and they have Cabins for people who act like they enjoy camping but would rather be in a cabin then on the ground...lol... While staying here I could enjoy some fishing, taking the dog for a nice walk, enjoy the evening with a nice fire, camp side, and go swimming on those hot summer days. Saturday you can go for a Hay Ride which is so much fun!

Right down the road is the famous Quechee Gorge which is breathtaking any time of the year.

Amazing campground. Staff are amazing, super nice people. There is only maybe 8 tent sites? They have 2 cabins to rent. And the rest is rvs. The bathrooms are the cleanest campground bathrooms I've ever been to. Everyone is so nice and welcoming.

perfect for families! there are tons of different types of campsites with either tent spots, lean tus, and a few (hard to get) cabins. bathrooms are plentiful and clean, hot showers for a small price. beautiful clean swimmable lake with a walking trail around it.

We stayed in a cabin with our pup. This place was very clean and loaded with amenities: pool, dog park, events, open fields, deer, store, etc. This was glamping with a fire pit 😃 There were plenty of sites for all size RV’s with hook-ups. A town with lots to do and see is nearby including hiking trails.

This place is pretty awesome. They have an ice cream shop attached to their office/store, mini golf just outside of it too. There is an amphitheater for concerts and shows throughout the summer. RV Spots, tent camping spots, a dog park, badminton, basketball, horseshoe, shuffleboard, the works. The bathrooms are beautifully redone and clean. The laundry room is pretty good too. Its close to Brattleboro and Putney and just across the border to New Hampshire. I'd most definitely stay again when I'm in the area. The other guest were very nice and we could also have packages delivered.

You really can't go wrong with a Vermont State Park. They are meticulously maintained and the folx that work there are super helpful. There was an active bear around and park staff went around in their cart letting folx know it had chased some hikers earlier in the day. Additionally, the staff were always available and willing to help with ice, firewood and quarters for showers!

Speaking of which, there are two bath houses with coin operated showers. One of the bathhouses is new and the other is an older facility. Both are quite nice and you get 5 minutes for 50 cents. Bargain!

The Lean-tos are well kept and spaces are super shaded and well spaced from one another. There's plenty of room between most sites. There were only a handful of sites that I wouldn't want to camp at. There were also some cabins that looked like they were finishing up, so that will be a great option as well. 

The state park is conveniently located to a great little snack bar, perfect for ice cream on a hot day. There is a short hiking trail down to the Quechee Gorge and a few other small hike options from the picnic area.

We stayed at Boston Minuteman Campground for 2 nights on our way home from Acadia NP. It was fine for a stopover. This is a pretty big campground, with lots of trees and shade. It was a little muddy when we were there. The roads are gravel, and there are hills and some tight turns, but the sites are level and some are large. Water, electric and sewer, plus a dumping station. There is no internet! The motel6 down the street had a stronger network server then the campground at our site. When I could get on it bumped me out right away. I asked in the office and was told there were too many people on it, and I should wait until someone gets off. (How about a stronger server?) There is a pool (closed in October) small store, laundry and playground. There are also cabins if needed. They are just about 12 miles from Concord and Lexington for history buffs. The campground is in an industrial area. There were truck and train noises from early morning till late at night. I took my dogs to the dog play area in the morning and a staff people came and told me they were making too much noise, which was laughable considering all the trucks and trains!

This was a short trip for us. It was only like 40 mins away from us. Just to get away. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area . They had activities for kids and adults. They had a rec. Room laundry, facilities, and very clean bathrooms. Very close to downtown Brattaboro and like 30 minutes away from the Vermont country store. We recommend you going to this place are your next trip through Vermont. 

We stayed here for two nights. It was very busy but so peaceful! Hubby and I stayed in a grassy site up against a wooded area. The sites along the river were more private and wooded but they didn’t have full hookups, water and electric yes. Very clean, friendly helpful staff. We didn’t use the bathrooms but our neighbors said they were very clean. There is tubing (bring your own) canoe and kayak rentals. Not much of a store but it does have essentials. Very pleased and can’t wait to go back!

Chuck and Laura are wonderful hosts and always available to help. The campground is clean, quiet, with plenty of open sites as well as sites in the woods. Sites big enough for our 42’ 5th wheel and 2 cars. Sites in the woods have water and 50 amp service, no sewer. Most of the open sites have 30/50 amp service with full hook-ups. River view sites available. Canoe rental available. Clean bath houses, laundry, dump station gameroom, and camp store. One of the best in the area!

For being in an urban area, you don't feel it once in the campground. You might hear a distant train, but not too much else. The location was perfect to see so much in the area (Minute Man National Historical Park, Boston, Salem, Plymouth, Cape Cod, Providence etc). It also is near all conveniences, with multiple choices for groceries, restaurants, shopping etc. We headed to a nearby Target one night just to get my fix since I hadn't been in one for ages and we were getting stir crazy in the RV one rainy night during our stay.

The customer service was great - they escort you to your camping spot so there is no confusion. We liked our site "F" which was in the back outer edge of the campground and was at an angle which gave us more privacy between our neighbors and a gorgeous view from our back window. We watched chipmunks, squirrels, hawks and other birds from our windows. It was a 30 amp, back in. We were told that we got the last site, and we were so surprised this was the one - it was so nice! We quickly realized that more people seemed to want the pull through sites, but as you can see in our picture, you skip out on the size and privacy of your site then. The only downside for our site was that it was rainy during our stay and we had some muddy spots to deal with when getting out of our car.

There was only one showerhouse which is at the office, so if you're in the back of the campground, it's a bit of a hike. It was super clean, updated, and they have speakers playing country music 24/7. They also had a nice looking laundry area (we didn't use), a rec room (didn't use), and a pool (didn't use).

The dump station was tight but fine to get into while we were hooked up to our tow car, even though it is on an incline to get out of the campground.

Weekends seemed to be pretty busy, but the campground was dead during the week and we were all by ourselves in our spot. They have cabins tucked in between sites that seemed pretty popular too.

They take a few different discount plans and have a weekly discounted rate as well.

One of our recommendations would be to go to a nearby Korean restaurant, Woo Jung in Ayers. It was soooo good. We found out they weren't open Mondays or Tuesdays because we tried to go back a second time before we left. You won't regret it!

Woodford State Park is situated between Wilmington and Bennington VT in the southern part of the Green Mountain National Forest. The park surrounds the Adams Reservoir and happens to be the highest elevation of all the Vermont state campgrounds. Woodford has two beaches- a larger day-use area with tables and grills and a smaller “campers” beach in the park’s third loop. There is also an approximate 2.5 mile trail that loops the reservoir and access to canoe and kayak rentals.

My sister and I stayed in site #2, which was smaller and less covered than some of the other sites. But I was lucky to book a spot just two weeks ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. Despite a couple days of rain, I really enjoyed myself and the park. The grounds seemed well kept and the staff were helpful. Plus there’s also looks to go and see in nearby Wilmington and historic Bennington.

After some exploration, I came to the conclusion that site #23 is the absolute best. It’s my go-to for my next visit! I judge this based on privacy, shade and water views, but of course preference is subjective. Sites #11, 21, 39, 40, 45, 56, 70, 72 and 84 were also pretty great.

Overall, Woodford was a great park and I definitely recommend it, particularly to those looking for dog and/or family oriented recreation!

We took our new to us hybrid camper out for its inaugural trip.

We chose to stay in the wooded loop of the campground and we were very happy with our site, #66. That section has about 12 sites, some big and some on the smaller side. Our site was easy to back into, even more so since no one was in the site across from us. Our site was very spacious, level and included a picnic table, fire ring, and nicely placed hookups for water and electric. We had easy access to trails that went along the river behind some of the sites with a few paths down to the river.

Everyone we encountered was friendly and respectful. There are quiet hours from 10pm-8am that are enforced. We were grateful to not have to hear loud partying going on into the night. There was car noise from nearby Rt 10 on the other side of the river, but nothing you can do about that.

We asked for assistance at the office with our first time using a pumping station at the end of the trip. We were given friendly helpful assistance and some great tips and advice for the future.

This was a nice enjoyable first visit for us. We will definitely be adding it to our list of places to visit again, but likely later in the year when we can enjoy the river and activities a bit more. We did not explore the options for bike, kayak, and canoe rentals but would like to in the future.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Site Num. 13. As described, it provided full shade and contained a fire pit. The ground covering was mostly crushed rocks and dirt so we would highly recommend when camping with a tent to bring a footprint as well as a cushioned sleeping pad.

When walking around the 45 camp sites we noticed that most perimeter sites were almost exactly the same as described above. However, the interior sites provided little to no shade at all and were mostly grass coverings.

North Pond was a very peaceful area to enjoy while we stayed at Savoy, but when we attempted to swim at South Pond, we didn't stay very long due to the debris such as broken glass and nails. We mostly enjoyed hiking many of the extensive trails in and around the area.

The bathrooms and showers were as clean as would be expected from a camp site. There are multiple potable drinking water stations throughout the camp site and a dedicated sink for dishes at each bathroom.

While it was a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, we may not return in the future as it was not what we were looking for. This camp site in our belief is best for family camping with small children or people looking for an easy getaway.

Great place to camp.on the ashuelot river. Make sure to bring tubes for relaxing on the river. We brought our kayaks and had no problem kayaking on the flat surface river..
