Big Arm is located on Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in the western United States. Twenty-eight miles long and 15 miles wide, Flathead Lake is renowned for its fishing.
Located on the lake's Big Arm Bay, its long pebble beach is popular with sunbathers and swimmers. Camping under a stand of mature ponderosa pine and juniper is a major attraction. The hiking trail provides excellent vistas of surrounding mountain ranges and high peaks with abundant watchable wildlife opportunities. This site is 2,953 feet in elevation and covers 240 acres. The campground has 41 campsites, including one wheelchair accessible site; one group campsite; and three yurts. Maximum RV/trailer length is 40 feet. Bear resistant storage lockers are available.
Yurts offer the latest in circular camping comfort. The Mission yurt is 20’ in diameter, Salish and Swan are 16’ in diameter, and the Swan yurt is ADA accessible. All yurts have furniture, electrical outlets, lights, and electric heat. Yurt sites includes a picnic table and a fire pit for cooking.
A tribal fishing license is needed for fishing at this park. Campers may stay only 14 days during a 30-day period. Pets are required to be on leashes.
Big Arm is a popular jumping-off point to Wild Horse Island, a 2,163-acre island in Flathead Lake State Park, located off the west shore of the lake. The island is home to bald eagles, bighorn sheep, yellow-pine chipmunks, and wild horses.

This camp spot is a dream come true for a family visiting Glacier. They have a family pool and an adults only pool in a separate enclosed. They have many different options as far as tent sites, hookup sites, camping cabins, luxury cabins, etc etc. Very cute ice cream shop and a wonderful little cafe that has dinners and espressos and coffee in the morning.
One of my favorite things about this KOA is they have a beautiful and private tent camping area away from all the RV people. Also the bbq at the little restaurant is amazing and I think it’s the owner out there on a grill and he’s a lovely talkative dude who wants to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves. The facilities are all well maintained and lovely. Can’t speak highly enough about this place.
GuideThis KOA is pretty nice. They have a 2 pools (which, though heated, is super cold), a hot tub (but it’s adult only, so if you have kids that cannot be alone, it’s a no go), and a nature trail (which is not very naturey and is super short [but glacier is not far away]). They do have many great things though: an excellent distance from Glacier and Kalispell, a dog park, and great spots to stay at (depending on where your cabin/spot is located). I would definitely recommend coming here if you need somewhere to stay or get away!

Amenities: Mini golf, Hot Tub, Pool, Basketball court, Volleyball Court, Dog run, Laundry room, Small market/Gift shop and Small “Sip, Snack, Shack” . Very Friendly staff . Also 4 or 6 Individual showers inside main building along with Bathrooms. Not sure it gets any better than this.
GuideWe had an amazing time here! The views can’t be beat and to have adult saunas and hot tubs is 👍🏼👍🏼! The on-site restaurant was good, drinks from the airstream were excellent and the nightly live music was great! Proximity to the park and shopping in Kalispell or Whitefish was close too! We’d definitely visit again!
RangerWe have loved camping here, we have returned multiple times! The tent sites are generous in most spaces, just specify your needs when you reserve. There is an adult pool, family pool and hot tubs! There is a camp store and the bathrooms are always nice and clean. Plus the KOA is just 10 minutes from the West Glacier entrance!

we planned a last minute trip (2weeks in advance) to Glacier NP in mid July. These guys still had tent sites available for the four nights we wanted. it’s a bit of a trek to the NP (40 minutes) but it’s not horrible time.
our site was nice and tucked off in the trees on the edge, but near the showers. they also provide free breakfast in the morning. newish washers/dryers were great too since we were starting a two week trip.
would definitely stay again if we couldn’t get something closer to Glacier.
we didn’t use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice and clean. they have a nImber of games outside and vIdeo games If you need entertaInment. the showers were good, lots of hot water.
GuideLook, it is a KOA. Some people like them, some do not. We generally avoid them and prefer more rustic camping. However, we decided to stay here to avoid some of the bear restrictions within Glacier, and for something different.
This park is very nice, but I would never call it rustic. We stayed in an electric and water only site which was tucked in some trees. Other sites were very landscaped, like a backyard. In fact, those have patios with awnings and BBQs provided. Our site was a bit small, with our neighbors close to our outdoor area. There were several tent only sites which looked fantastic and were back within the trees.
The staff is very friendly and everything was very clean. It was nice having a small outdoor restaurant, but it’s selection was very limited (4 meat choices, 2 sides with your meat). The ice cream shop was probably the biggest hit. There are also two pools, one adult and one family, and also two adult only hot tubs. When we stayed there it was in the mid-90s, so the pools were a life saver.
LegendGreat amenities onsite. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind. The bathhouse near us was a dated design style but very clean and well stocked. Lots of families with kids onsite, I can see why with all the great amenities. During off season kids are allowed to swim in adult pool and hot tubs. Great spacious off leash dog park onsite. A second smaller K9 park onsite was still nicely maintained. It’s snug, so unless you pay for more spacious sites expect to be close to neighbors. Some of the cabin renters were loud with radios blaring but they were on the opposite side of the park so we didn’t report the noise. Plenty of supplies available at store. Some of the sites had lovely views of the mountains. The nature trail at the KOA was very muddy and some sections had such large mud holes that you couldn’t avoid getting your shoes wet. They should put some gravel or something back there. Just be prepared to get your shoes dirty if you walk it. Despite the muddiness, we found it was a lovely nightly loop to walk.
If you plan to drive going to the sun road: make sure it’s open. And be sure and get a reservation/register your vehicle for Glacier/going-to the-sun road if visiting summer 2022. Go eat at Dan d Lion cafe for a crazy savory meal. You won’t believe it’s vegan and gluten free. Insanely good. Great prices in Hungry Horse for souvenirs. West Glacier was definitely the better stay than East Glacier in our opinion. Much more easy access to stores, restaurants, etc. Whitefish MT had the coolest off leash dog park we’ve ever seen! If you have your 4-legged-bff with you - you simply must take your pup to that park (you’re welcome!) Lake McDonald is a great place to see the mountains and take beautiful pictures. You need bear spray if you go hiking anywhere here. Also, no dogs on trails, of course.

Stayed in a yurt for a week. Loved the vibe of the campground. Free coffee was a life safer for early rising to get into the park at 6am. Rented a ebike from rental place next door and was able to ride ebike to the park on a walking trail. Loved the yurt and stayed warm. They were very helpful to book us all side by side (2 yurts and a cabin)

Glacier Campground is just a few miles outside of the west entrance of Glacier National Park. The campground is clean, and the hosts are friendly. We stayed in a cabin that had one twin bunk bed and on twin over queen bunk bed. It also had a mini fridge and microwave. You need to bring your own bedding, but the cabins are new and really cute. Worked perfect for us.

We stayed in a cabin at Lake Five 28 years ago so when planning this trip, we decided to stay again particularly since it put us as close to the campground in Glacier NP that we hoped to snag a site at. The cabins are essentially the same but now there are electric hookups for the RVs and a live entertainment stage (we were there on a Monday so did not see any entertainment). The other thing that is different is that there are fewer mosquitoes (I remember they used to be vicious) due to bats (although I did not see any). Located right on a lake just a few miles from the west entrance to the park, there are accommodations to fit everyone’s needs. Cabins, some with bathrooms, some with kitchens, RV sites, and tipis. In my opinion, Cabins 1 and 2 are the best with full lake views but these are larger cabins and better suited for families. We stayed in Cabin 8 this time, with a bathroom but no kitchen. We had a picnic table and fire ring so enjoyed our dinner outside. The cabins are rustic (think summer camp) but clean. They have very limited outlets! One in the main room, used for the fridge and fan, and one in the bathroom, so don’t plan on charging your devices after being in the woods camping! Make sure you bring towels– while there are sheets on the bed, there are no bath towels. Cabins are a bit pricey but that is to be expected in a prime location. The RV sites are close together; the sites on the outside of the loop are more private with trees behind them. Sites 1-8 have NO privacy or separation between them and while lakefront, the view is filtered through the trees. Other amenities include a utility sink, showers (for campers only) and reasonably priced laundry, although with only one washer and dryer, there was a big back-up! This is a great place from which to explore Glacier National Park or just relax by the lake. Lots of families swimming and boating and hanging out. The office is open from 9am-9pm. Owner Ron has a dry sense of humor and is very welcoming, along with his two very large dogs. The resort is open spring through fall, with discounts in the spring and fall. Check is the preferred payment when making a reservation and you will receive a confirmation as soon as the check is received. Note if you are using Google Maps: if you are approaching from the west, Belton Stage Road is gravel (about 1.5 miles) but there is another paved entrance from the east.
GuideWonderful little campground located just south of Whitefish Montana on highway 93. This KOA has a lot to offer from cabins to RV parking and several tent camping locations. Just a few minutes drive north and you will enter the small ski town of Whitefish Montana. Plenty of places to eat, shop or buy your groceries. During the summer months be sure to visit Whitefish Lake. 20 minute drive east and you will arrive in West Glacier Park. This RV park is located in a wooded area and is very family friendly with a local pizzeria on site.

There was a small lot close by so that was fine but it also seemed pretty far from the bathrooms. The bathroom was very clean and I loved the private showers. The laundry area was spacious and clean. They also had several brochures on local activities. The wifi didn't seem to reach the tent sites though.

Stayed in a Pioneer cabin. Nice and clean. The downsides were it's a steel walk to grills, internet, and bathrooms. But very pleasant. You can hear the road but it's not loud.

Most beautiful location of the KOAs I've stayed at. Nestled against the mountains and less than 3 miles to Glacier National Park.
Lots of sites to choose from. Ours was a pull thru with nice vegetation between. Fire pit with benches and picnic table. Some sites are close together with no privacy. Some have gas grills and patio furniture. There are cabins and tent sites as well. Bathhouse was average. The cafe was open for breakfast and dinner.Ice cream shop closed for the season. Amazing pool! Nice play area, dog parks. Really nice camp store, firewood available. KOA Workshop on site. RV wash and dog grooming by appointment.
GuideMontana is absolutely gorgeous! I may be biased because I go to college in Montana, but there is so many great outdoor activities. The mountains and scenery are my favorite. Some college friends and I have done a lot of camping over the years together, and Glacier Campground was one of my favorites. The campground is awesome, and is a few exits down from the Glacier National Park. Trees surround you within the campground, which was great because my friends and I had hammocks so those were easy to hook up with all the trees! One thing we really enjoyed doing was we did some horse back riding! There is a place nearby where you can go and do this. We had a blast!! There are many lakes and rivers too that are great. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, and also rented some kayaks at a local shop a few miles away. The campground does offer spots for tents, RVs and they also have cabins. We chose to tent because we are poor college students :). Maybe at some point we would try renting a cabin because they looked pretty fun. We didn't reserve our spot ahead of time, but we were able to get a spot still. It was in the spring time, so I'm sure if it was in the summer months you might want to call and make a reservation. Each campsite does have a table and fire pit which came in handy for us. We only stayed for the weekend, but wish we could have stayed longer to do some hiking. Because Glacier National Park is right around the corner, I know they have great hikes. If you are into hiking, I would definitely research hikes in that area. I can't wait to come back!!
ScoutThe staff are very friendly and helpful with hiking trails throughout West Glacier. The tent sites and even cabins are well spaced from neighbors, eco-friendly and kept very clean. The noise level is also minimal and no one is disturbed by RVs or restroom noises.
GuideSo, its a KOA which is awesome for some and not for others. I have only been to a handful but they are way too managed and the stereotypical "glamping" situation. Reason we booked was because we were headed from a nearby camp on Flathead lake and wanted to get closer to Glacier before walking in for a permit. This KOA is less than 20 minutes from the Apgar permit office... We booked a primitive cabin online before the trip, and then the night of our arrival, about 1 hour till their general store/office closed, we got a phone call saying that they made a mistake and they over booked. How did they handle it? They put us up in one of their luxury full cabins! Now, that is not the experience we were looking for, but for us this was merely a one nighter to get to Glacier. So we accepted. Campfire ring, picnic table, private parking, and our own little cabin complete with flat screen tv and surround speakers in the ceiling. 2 other bedrooms one with bunks that went unused, a kitchen with coffee maker and mini fridge, and a bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower... While not the experience we were looking for it sure made it easier to pack up and get into glacier for that walk in permit. Although there was some mistake with their booking they owned it and gave us what would be considered a huge upgrade, and we made it to the permit office early without needing to worry about deflating our sleeping pads. Thank you West Glacier KOA!
TravelerMinutes away from Glacier National Park, this camp ground has it all. From cabins to RV sites to tent camping, there is something for everyone. We stayed in a tent. The bathroom's we're not too far away. It was nice to have a restaurant on site (that doubles as a coffee bar). The play structure is great for kids. We did not use the pools, but they looked nice from a distance.

I think cell service is kinda spotty there, but they do have a WiFi area. Nice playground. It's really close to West opening of Glacier Park.

Sure, I have a bias against tent camping in RV Land. There's usually no tree coverage, all the spaces are the same, and you have to deal with fumes, motors and people who are, essentially, driving around large living rooms. That said, there are some good folks to meet, colorful camphosts and extreme ease of setup. This spot, while not the sexiest, checks off a lot of boxes. You have lots of mountains, lakes, the glorious Glacier National Park nearby and some cute cabins.
RangerThis gem is right around the corner from the west enters de at Apgar and a perfectly quiet, wooded location for camping in any size RV, tent, van, and they also offer cabins. It’s absolutely beautiful. Gravel, mostly level sites offer many trees and lots of space/privacy. Super sweet staff and owner all very helpful and lovely. No sewer hook-ups, but they have a dump at the front of the campground. Water and electric at site. Clean bathroom and shower and laundry room. This is a big fat YES!

My family and I recently stayed at Rollings RV Park on Flathead Lake in Montana, and we loved it! Although it's all back-in sites for RVs and there's not a lot of room, we found that the park was beautiful and quiet, and the staff was very friendly. They have some tent sites and cabins available as well.
There's a restaurant on-site, but it has limited days and hours. The food was excellent, but it's like being in the UK, where you order everything yourself.
The park is clean, and the sites have a decent amount of space. You're close to Polson and Lakeside, where there are great beaches. The campground has its beach, but you have to drive to it.
One of the best things about the park is the great playground for kids. Our kids loved it!
The only thing we didn't love was the parking situation for guests or extra vehicles, but since it's a small place, we understand that it can be limited.
Overall, we will 100% stay at Rollings RV Park on Flathead Lake again and again. It's an awesome place, and we highly recommend it.
