    Chute Pond Park

    One of my favorite campgrounds

Chute pond park is one of my favorite campgrounds to stay at. They have reasonable rates, clean bathrooms and almost all sites are electric. There’s lots to do the whole weekend whether you want to go hiking, fishing, boating, small cliff jumping, or take a walk to slippery rock. This year they also have now available kayaks for rent at $20 per hour.

    Great spot for families

This was our first experience with a “bells and whistles” type campground. And we were very pleased with the quality of the amenities that we have previously done without.

The newer playground is now open/free and includes a pickleball court, which was enjoyed by everyone. There is also a nice little convenience store and a bar/restaurant with a patio that overlooks the play area. It’s a great setup for parents who feel comfortable letting their kids play at a distance.

The toilets and showers were just spotless and so clean. That was honestly such a pleasant and welcomed surprise.

We were fortunate to have a more wooded spot within the circle section of the campground but it was not as wooded/secluded as other camping experiences we’ve had. But we knew this going in and were really pleased with the amount of greenery we got along with the amenities.

    Would definitely come back!

    Music Oriented Camp

While it may not look like much from the road in the approach, as the photos and some of the signage suggests, this camp is largely centered around music. A local staple, many regular and occasionally irregular music festivals are held here. The campsites are adequate for what events are held here. Visiting during a time where music isn't playing can be plenty serene and relaxing. The last time I was here I recall falling asleep in my camp chair!

    Labor Day Weekend Site 339

Our first trip with our new to us travel trailer. We were assigned site 339 and in our opinion lucked out with the best site possible in our category. We were nicely surrounded by woods with minimal visibility of our neighbors. We walked the park and for full hook up sites the 300s are nice if you're looking for a more secluded/wooded spot, the pull throughs have minimal division from your neighbors. My only complaint is that with dogs it would have been nice to have some grass the entire site was gravel to the tree line. We had to take our dogs to the field for potty as they refused to poop at our site. Firewood is $10/wagon and you must purchase at the park. Multiple nice play areas, my 4 year old had a blast. They had a live band all day Saturday until 9:15 and it made it difficult to get our 4 year old to nap/go to bed even with 2 sound soother on high and a fan running but I will say the band looked fun! Highly recommend the campground as wholw, we will be back!

    Very peaceful and private

I was surprised that each site is pretty wooded making you feel like you don't have neighbors. The surrounding area is just expansive farmlands which is beautiful to look at when walking the dog in the morning.

They have fun kid things but you have to pay extra to use them. They have a free playground (old school looking, lots of metal haha) that my kids had a lot of fun on so that's good. It also is too rainy to use the fun have-to-pay park which includes these huge pillows that kids can jump on. They also have a trampoline basketball activity and a more updated jungle gym.

The pool seemed small for the campground size but we haven't used it due to the rain so it was just a visual observation.

    Nice clean campground!

We love this place! One of the best places we’ve stayed. Bathrooms are well kept and clean. Sites are spacious and owners are very friendly! We’ve been here many times and will continue to come back!

Poised for greatness but falls short

Reservation process was smooth, as was check in. Site had both 30 and 50 amp hookups. Oddly, no standard 110v 15amp plug though. There is water at each site, but the lowest water pressure I have ever seen. Grounds well maintained, though the main building looks half finished and remained that way for many years. The bathrooms unfortunately do not match the upscale vibe of the campground. They were dirty, tons of sand tracked in, poorly maintained. The men’s urinal was a long term plywood out of order sign. Black mold on ceiling tiles in many places. Showers require a quarter to start them ??This campground looks like it started out with so much promise and now the owners are just coasting without putting much effort into the place. We have been here days and have yet to catch a time the office and store was open. Swimming hole looks nice for kids but due to poor planning of its location, it’s primary function is to provide a source of non stop sand in her bathrooms

    Great Family Place

Rustic Timbers has a lot going on.   In the campground there is a very nice store with a snack bar, ice cream and adult beverages.  There is a nice pool and playground for children.   While we were there it was Christmas in July and  many campers had decorated.   There were hayrides to view the decorations.

This is a very large campground and some spaces are pretty tight.   We stayed  on the  Horseshoe Loop which was less crowded and very nice.

It is very close to Egg Harbor and we had fun exploring there also.   There is a laundry and 2021 rates are from $46 to $63 a night.

    Great place for family reunions.

    Good family campground

Very children and family oriented, some shorter trails, fishing area, playground, beach (always full of weeds). Spots were pretty open

    Chute Pond Park

Chute Pond is my favorite place in the world.

I’ve been going here every year since for at least 10 years. The campsites are perfect, and there’s so many fun things to do. They have a little footbridge to fish off of, a playground, and a nice beach. You can rent out kayaks and little boats. There’s lots of hiking trails. One trail leads to a scenic overlook and another leads to slippery rock. Slippery Rock is a waterfall from the river that you can actually slide down. They also have a rock you can jump off as well into water. Also there’s a big pond where you can boat and swim and there’s a sandbar too. I love this place so much I got a tattoo of the coordinates.

    Slippery Rock!

I love this place I've been coming here since I was a very young child. My grandparents were from the town of Mountain. It will always have a nostalgic feel for me so it'll always receive five stars. But the last few times I've gone there people were taking so many panfish out of the lake at such small sizes it was hard to find large panfish like I remember as a child.

Cedar River North State Forest Campground

    Highly recommended

This place is awesome. It's 8 miles down an old logging trail but it's worth the drive. There is no electricity but they have a fresh water spigot. There are 14 campsites, half of which have horse pens, most of the sites are river front on the Cedar River, and 2 sets a trails, one which is an equestrian trail that doubles as ski trails in winter. There is a kayak launch and the river is a great place for catching bass. Every site has at least one handicap accessible picnic table and a small fire pit. Most of the sites are big enough to fit a camper. There is a set of mudding trails across the river with easy access, the sounds are not too loud. The campground is usually empty or close to it. The mudders do come visit the grounds for the bathrooms, otherwise it's pretty quiet. There is a bunch of wildlife, you can hear birds and squirrels chattering, coyotes call to each other in the early in the morning across the river, and lots of little critters scurrying about. Dogs are welcome. There is a gas station/Mart on the highway before the turnoff that sells fire wood and other items you may need while camping

Would go back again and again

The access to the ATV trails really makes this campground a convenience gem! The camp store is also supe convenient if you forget smores and Fire supplies. The sites are close to each other and ticks can get bad here but overall it’s such a great, cheap option! The trails that go down towards the falls are really nice and it’s a great campground to watch the stars!
