Best RV Parks & Resorts near Potterville, MI

Several RV parks near Potterville, Michigan provide full hookup options for travelers. Hidden Ridge RV Resort in Hopkins operates from April through October with 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections on concrete pads. Camp Turkeyville RV Resort in Marshall remains open year-round with similar hookup configurations designed for larger vehicles. Heartland Woods Family Resort in Stockbridge accommodates big rigs with 50-amp service but lacks shower facilities. Most parks feature pull-through RV sites with fire rings and picnic tables, though spacing between units varies considerably. "Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot and AT&T cell," noted one visitor about Holiday RV Campground.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer weekends and fall color season when occupancy rates peak. Dump stations are available at most parks, though Holiday RV Campground and Hidden Ridge offer full sewer hookups at individual sites, eliminating the need for moving vehicles to empty tanks. Cell service quality varies by carrier and specific location, with Verizon generally providing reliable coverage throughout the region. Pet policies differ between facilities—most allow dogs but may restrict certain breeds or require leashing. Propane fill service can be found at Alice Springs RV Park in Ionia, while others sell pre-filled tanks. Several parks maintain paved interior roads suitable for larger motorhomes, though some visitors report needing leveling blocks on certain sites due to uneven terrain.

    Holiday RV Campground

    Nice Park

Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot (22u, 20d, 38ms and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms). Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud.

Great campground with polite and helpful staff. Don’t pass this one up.

    Ted Ranch Campground

No thrills, largely rustic, family oriented, friendly

This campground is pretty rustic with water and electricity at some sites, no showers or restrooms, a dump station for one at a time, Porta potties scattered around, small beach, small boat launch, mostly appears to be seasonal sites without sewer or rustic sites. Some but not a lot of shade, rolling fields being made into smaller sized sites. Dogs and dogs pens are allowed, and they do not appear to have parents who are attentive or keep them from barking. Friendly staff and family of four owners.

    Markin Glen County Park

    Modern Campground Close to Downtown

This is a modern campground with full hook-ups and cement parking areas. It is a newer campground, so there is not an old-growth canopy shading the sites. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. Some sites are pull-throughs. Tent camping is allowed, but most campers have RVs.

There is a bath house with good showers.

The park also has a lake with a beach, although I have never been in it.

This campground has a great location for people who want to visit Kalamazoo. One downside is that there are train tracks that run near the campground and sometimes the engines idle for extended periods at night.

    Oaks Campgrounds

    Nice for the Night

Friendly staff. Camp store in office. Pull through full hook up site. Seemed to be more of a permanent campground but everyone was friendly. The campground hosted activities such as a potluck and dj dance party at the pavilion.

Bruin Lake Campground — Pinckney Recreation Area

    Bruin Lake Campground

Wonderful place even when it’s packed. Harder to get reservations over the years but always a great place to stay. Awesome bathrooms newly renovated. Nice spots. Mostly paved in the lower sites. Nice swimming area however no beach sand. Just a grassy area. Public boat launch on Bruin lake. Bruin lake connects to a few more lakes creating a nice chain of lakes. Half moon at the end of the chain is a great all sports lake. Awesome fishing. Sites have electric, no water. There is a dump station. Wood and ice available for purchase and a few vending machines. Nice hiking trails. They do have a few hike in yurts and hike in camping sites. Decent parking places for those hike ins.

    Hell Creek Ranch & Campground

Great, clean private campground with easy access to the state parks.

This was our first time staying here. Great private campground with rustic, elec, water/elec (30 amp), and concrete pad sites. Very clean campground with nice shower house. Owners are very friendly. Direct connections to the Waterloo Pinckney trail system. Near Hell, Michigan and Chelsea, Michigan. Large pool in season. Priced reasonably.

Hidden Ridge RV Resort, A Sun RV Resort

    Modern RV resort

Hidden Ridge is a modern RV resort within 8 minutes of Gun Lake and sandwiched between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. There is no tent camping available at this location.

All sites include a concrete pad, fire ring and full hook-up. 120/150 amp

Lots of activities for the whole family. There is a pool, hot tub, bounce pillow, splash pad. Children’s activities are planned throughout the week and adult activities, as well.

Gun Lake is crystal clear meaning you can see the sand/pebble bottom. There is fun to be had on this nice-sized Lake.

Not far from Hidden Ridge is a race track that is busy each weekend with all manner of race cars.

Guide to Potterville

RV parks in Potterville, Michigan offer central access to outdoor attractions throughout south-central Michigan. Most camping facilities in the region remain open from April through October, with daily temperatures averaging 75-85°F during peak summer months. The area features predominantly flat terrain with scattered woodlands and several recreational lakes within a 30-minute drive.

What to Do

Fishing opportunities: At Hideaway RV Park, campers can access a small pond for casual fishing. "Small yet mostly quiet local camp. It's away from all of the daily hoopla but close to towns if you need things," notes one visitor.

Water activities: Camp Michawana offers multiple water recreation options for families. "They have a lake/beach for swimming, kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes to use at the lake. They also have a massive slip 'n slide, zip lining, and a rock climbing wall," reports a camper.

Local exploring: Potterville camping locations provide convenient access to nearby towns. "Close to nice small towns and Ann Arbor," mentions one camper about Holiday RV Campground. The surrounding countryside offers scenic drives past farms and rural landscapes.

What Campers Like

Spacious sites: Many RV parks near Potterville prioritize comfortable spacing. "Spacing was generous between locations. We had a drive-in(forward) location(#10) overlooking the small lake," notes a visitor to Hidden Ridge RV Resort.

Clean facilities: Well-maintained amenities receive frequent praise. "Amenities were great, everything well kept and clean. This park is very big," reports a camper at Hidden Ridge. Another adds, "All facilities were very clean. Nice place to walk around and get some exercise."

Family-friendly atmosphere: Many campgrounds cater specifically to families with children. "Kid friendly! This park always finds away to having something fun for the kids to do. Pool, splash pad, arcade, bounce pad, playground, outdoor sports area, hayrides, crafts, store, pond for fishing, golf cart rental," shares a seasonal camper.

What You Should Know

Site surfaces vary: Some campgrounds offer concrete pads while others have grass sites that may become muddy after rain. "Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud," notes one Holiday RV Campground visitor.

Shade availability: Tree coverage differs significantly between campgrounds and specific sites. "Most of the bigger trees are around the perimeter so most sites are in the sun all day," warns a Hidden Ridge visitor. At newer campgrounds, a visitor to Alice Springs RV Park notes it's a "newer campground with lots of young trees."

Reservation policies: Cancellation terms vary widely among Potterville area campgrounds. Call ahead to confirm policies as some maintain strict rules regardless of circumstances.

Tips for Camping with Families

Activity planning: The best family-friendly campgrounds offer structured recreation options. "They have themed weekends filled with activities for both adults and children and have a pool, pizza and ice cream, jumping pillow, clubhouse, fishing, playground, dog park, and so much more!"

Transportation options: At larger resorts, consider on-site transportation. "Because of the size of this campground most people get around by golf cart. We rented a golf cart from them, which our kids had a blast just going for rides around the campground."

Swimming facilities: Pool availability and conditions vary by campground. "The pool was nice, and the playground very fun for kids," reports a visitor at Hidden Ridge, while Camp Turkeyville RV Resort offers "pool, kids pad, laundry, family showers, individual showers, very clean and nice."

Tips from RVers

Supply planning: Some RV parks near Potterville have limited nearby services. "Not really any fast food restaurants either. Obviously not a deal breaker, but just something to be prepared for," advises a Hidden Ridge visitor. "The closest gas station is 15 miles."

Site selection strategy: RVers recommend considering hookups versus view when booking. "If you want the best sites, forego the 'full hookup,' pay less for the best and closest view."

Internet connectivity: Cell service quality varies across the region. "Cell service great with Verizon hotspot(22u, 20d, 38ms) and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms)," reports a camper at Holiday RV Campground.
