    Best Jellystone ever

Nice, clean, safe, and plenty to at this place!! Love the trash pick up service! This is how a RV Resort should operate. The extra cost for some of the activities are not terribly overpriced, but is overpriced. The multiple pools are excellent. Need to plan about 6 months to a 1 year ahead to get in.

    Love this place

Clean and large campsites, with full hook up for campers and RVs. Cade Lake can be seen from most campsites which adds to the scenery. Biking or walking trails, with frisbee golf course. We have been here twice and will probably go here once every year at least

    Awesome place!

Coolest place in Hell:) the staff is very helpful and wonderful if you need something. They either get it for you or point you in the correct direction. Mostly RV however tents are allowed. Pool, showers, restrooms are very clean, they have full hook ups at most sites or at least your electric and water. If you stay around awhile they treat you like family! This is an awesome place

    Great 1st camping experience

This was our 1st ever camping trip and it was a delight. Pull thru spot, super easy to get to, full hookup. Spots had plenty of room, some had grass others had concrete. Quiet, very chill RV park, small beach on a pond for fishing playground for kids and plenty of room for our small dog. Linda (owner) was amazing, very helpful and easy to use venmo for payment and for firewood use. Overall a great experience , would definitely visit again. Plenty to do around town, lakes everywhere just have to choose which one to go to.

    Nice for the Night

Friendly staff. Camp store in office. Pull through full hook up site. Seemed to be more of a permanent campground but everyone was friendly. The campground hosted activities such as a potluck and dj dance party at the pavilion.

    Pokagon State Park Campground

    Pokagon State Park

Pokagon State Park has an excellent state park campground. Sites are in a well wooded area situated on 5 different loops (1 non-electric, 4 electric). Many sites are flat (good for tent camping) while others are slightly rolling hills (helps breakup the sites a bit). There is a lot to do in the park including many trails, horse riding (horse stable on site), and lake swimming on a nicely improved beach. Only cons are no full hook up and the fire rings/grills could be improved.

    Kids loved it!

The park is very clean and the staff is friendly. The kids loved the activities and amenities. Full hook up, clean bathrooms for those who need it. All it needed was a hot tub for the adults and it would have been perfect! I will definitely return!

    Sauder Village Campground

Nice Campground with Lots of Amenities

Really enjoyed this campground for the short amount of time we were in the area visiting family The park and facilities were very clean, sites were well-spaced, there is a nice walking/biking trail, and had full hook-ups.  This campground is associated with Historic Sauder Village – a living history destination in northern Ohio. (You can get discount admission to the village if you stay in the campground.) The campground filled up on the weekend but emptied out on Sunday. The RV sites are long, level, and have either 50 amp full hook-up or water and electric only. Tent sites are scattered along the pond which made for a nice view; except, the ridiculous number of geese meant there was poop everywhere along the shoreline and throughout the tent section. Staff does haze the geese but it was not enough to keep them away during the afternoon.

A fee is charged to enter the historic village or you can ask for a “shoppers pass” and visit the stores inside the village. Located on the grounds (and within walking distance of the campground) is a restaurant, bakery, gift shop and hotel (which has an indoor pool, hot tub, and game room campers are allowed to use). The restrooms, laundry, and showers were very clean and relatively new. Other amenities include basketball, shuffleboard, horse shoes, splash pad, volleyball, corn holes, lake for fishing, and free WiFi. There are a couple of covered group picnic areas available for anyone to use which is nice if you have a big group wanting to get together.

The campground is about four miles south of the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/90) which is pretty convenient if you are just passing through and looking for a place to stay overnight. The town of Archbold is pretty small but does have a decent grocery and restaurants. The nearby town of Bryan is larger and has a really funky brewery/restaurant housed an old church (Father Johns).

    Nice Park

Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot (22u, 20d, 38ms and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms). Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud.

Great campground with polite and helpful staff. Don’t pass this one up.

En Gedi River Resort & Canoe Livery

The Peace and Quiet of God's Nature!

Great find, off the beaten path.  En Gedi Campground and Canoe Livery is family owned and operated. In all they have about 30 campsites and a few cabins available.  There are four full hook-up sites and the rest are water/electric.  The electric is 30 amp.  The sites are pretty large and all grass.  There is a sewer dump site near the office with potable water also available.  There are two full restrooms and four showers available.  There are lots of things for the kids to do.  They have many games, some are organized as well as a inflatable bounce house.  This is a Christian campground and therefore has two church services, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.  All are welcome though at both the campground as well as the church service. There is a nice deck platform overlooking the St Joseph River.  One can swim in the river at their own risk.  Overall, the campground is a great value.  We camped on site #22 which is water/electric and we paid $35/night.  We camped here over Memorial Day weekend and even with a full campground, it was still very quiet and peaceful.

    Angola/Hogback Lake KOA Holiday

    Nice AAA Place near I-69

I keep my RV just across the street and have been through this park for a long time, before & after KOA.  All the services you would want are here and they have a workable mesh wifi system.  Another plus is that a Verizon and ATT cell tower is <2 miles away.  The staff are pleasant and approachable.   KOA has recently modernized this park and added a lot of new sites to the south and east of the old facility. IMHO the whole place is a class act and I think you will like it

There are sufficient transient sites to accommodate I-80/90 /I-69 /US-20 traffic. However, there are a lot of seasonal RV's that are congregated towards the lake to the south:  There is a beach on this property.  The transient sites are, near the US-20 road, to the north are and easily accessible.  I do not consider this to be a extremely loud road but there is large truck traffic day/night; however, I have not noticed "jake brake" use and the road is straight and flat in front of the park.

FYI - disclosure:  I am in no way associated, employed or incented to make this review.  I am considered to be a local guide by Google but not incented by them either.  If Dyrt allows,  I will later add pictures I have taken over the years from land and air. Also, as a parting bit of info, I have kayaked extensively in this long chain of lakes that this RV park is located on and you can go on for days.

    Detroit/Ann Arbor KOA

    A campground in transition

We only stayed at this KOA because we couldn’t find any available campsites at any other campgrounds in the area. We usually don’t consider KOA because they are generally too expensive for what we need them for but this KOA has water/electric sites for $30. Keep in mind you can’t choose which site number you get. This is a new KOA so they are still transitioning from an RV park and are sprucing up the campground to KOA standards. Do not expect anything glamorous. The improvements appear to be gradual. I feel like the main building would need to be renovated to truly makes themselves a proper KOA.

But as for the campground itself, the campsites are close together. The chalky gravel campsites and roads are raked everyday. They do roadside trash pickup throughout the day. I observed them come by twice a day. I think there are 7 individual shower rooms. The restrooms are attached to the main office building (like the showers). I mention that because the map we were given doesn’t indicate where the restrooms are but to be fair the office staff told us where they were. The showers and restrooms are alright. The campers make them gross but I see the staff cleaning everything on schedule around noon everyday. There’s a laundry room which is very clean. The washers are $2 and the dryers are $1 for 40 minutes. There’s a playground. A swimming area on the lake. There’s a trail that goes around the lake. The KOA has well stocked doggy poop bags and trashcans along the trail.

Oh! The camp store has ice cream, general food stuffs, fishing tackle and will accept packages.

Internet. Verizon via iPhone 12 via a weBoost signal booster (because I forgot to turn it off): 22 mbps down and 3 mbps up with 29 ms ping; T-Mobile via Nighthawk MR1100 via weBoost: 36 mbps down and 19 mbps up with 46 ms ping.

    Beautiful

The views while walking along Lake Huron are beautiful. The campground is clean. My only “con” is that full hookups are scarce and don’t have the perfect angle and view of the W/E sites. If you want the best sites, forego the “full hookup”, pay less for the best and closest view of Lake Huron.

    Good family campground

This is a larger state park with full size sites for RVs. There is electric on each site along with fire rings and picnic tables.

Some good spots have some shade to stay out of the sun. The beach is pretty good for swimming.

The bathrooms are clean and the showers were warm.

    Just ok

Campsite B6 was large, nice big tree for shade, full hookup and last minute availability on a holiday all great. The downside was the strict enforcement of visitors paying to come. There were zero amenities but she walked the grounds and questioned us making us pay for two friends having dinner with us. It needs some upkeep and no real activities so it felt a bit ridiculous to have that enforcement but overall a decent stay.

Great state park in the Irish Hills

Hayes State Park is a great little spot in the Irish Hills. It rained the whole time we were there (boo!) but we tried to make the best of it. Our site was the perfect spot for two tents and a hammock, and I loved the fire pit and table being next to the driveway. There’s electric at every site, and a paved driveway for RVs. One thing is that the sites in the east loop, while a little more spaced out than the west loop, are still real close together. If there had been someone in the spot to our left, it would’ve felt really cramped. The ranger office was nice, clean, and had lots of information ready! Firewood and ice are available there as well for reasonable prices. The bathroom building was right in the center of our loop, and had warm showers that were great after a day of cold mist. They aren’t the cleanest, but with how many people were there it was well kept and stocked. This is obviously a campground geared towards families, with tons to do from the beach, to volleyball courts and horseshoes. The main attraction is of course Wamplers Lake, and you can rent kayaks, pedal boats and canoes to go explore around the lake. Overall, this is a great campsite if you are a family, or attending an event at MIS right down the road. If you enjoy more secluded campsites, this isn’t the spot for you.

    Great Visit / Great Park

We spent this past week at Hogback Lake KOA. It is late in the season so much of the park was closed for the season, but we had a great year round site. A little bit of road noise, but water, electric, sewer, cable TV all worked great. We have family in the area and had a great visit. We will definitely stay here again in the spring.
