    Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park

    Nice Park near the casino

My aunt loves to visit the soaring eagle casino and because we live about an hour and half away, she likes to camp at the campground. This campground is a few miles from the casino, but offer free shuttles to the soaring eagle properties (including the water park). We did not use the soaring eagle water park, but were told that the use of the water park is included in your stay at the RV park. I did not ask how many that includes, but for $64 a night at this resort, I would hope they would allow the family to use the water park. The park is very nice! The roads were paved and it was very well kept. The sites are all full hook-up. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others (if you want to pay that much for a site). The reason we chose this was to be close to the casino and the sites were full hook-up.

    Awesome place!

Coolest place in Hell:) the staff is very helpful and wonderful if you need something. They either get it for you or point you in the correct direction. Mostly RV however tents are allowed. Pool, showers, restrooms are very clean, they have full hook ups at most sites or at least your electric and water. If you stay around awhile they treat you like family! This is an awesome place

    Great 1st camping experience

This was our 1st ever camping trip and it was a delight. Pull thru spot, super easy to get to, full hookup. Spots had plenty of room, some had grass others had concrete. Quiet, very chill RV park, small beach on a pond for fishing playground for kids and plenty of room for our small dog. Linda (owner) was amazing, very helpful and easy to use venmo for payment and for firewood use. Overall a great experience , would definitely visit again. Plenty to do around town, lakes everywhere just have to choose which one to go to.

    Nice for the Night

Friendly staff. Camp store in office. Pull through full hook up site. Seemed to be more of a permanent campground but everyone was friendly. The campground hosted activities such as a potluck and dj dance party at the pavilion.

    Nice Park

Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot (22u, 20d, 38ms and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms). Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud.

Great campground with polite and helpful staff. Don’t pass this one up.

    Three Seasons Campground

    Fun park

Stayed at the campground for a week and used it as a base camp to do some other things and had many days we just stayed at the campground.  Typical RV park for size of lots but thankfully it was not packed when we were there, so we weren't on top of each other.  The campground offers an in ground swimming pool (non-heated), small store, a basic mini-golf course, horseshoe pits, docks, kayak rental, a pavilion, and a small arcade room.  The weekend had a little more of the party people staying up later but it was no problem.  There is a lot of seasonal people that have trailers there all the time.  Everyone was nice including the owners.  It is close to Greenville, if there are any shopping or dining needs.  Fun campground and my family had a good time relaxing and the kids loved the pool.  If you are looking for a quick get away or a family outing and don't mind other people right close then I would recommend it.

    Sleepy Hollow State Park Campground

I know another great Michigan State Park

What can I say, I love the Michigan State Parks.  I find they are the best, Sleepy Hollow is not different and it has so many things to do.  I would advise if you want to camp there on a weekend to make reservations well in advance.  We stay here because there are only 2 campgrounds in the Lansing East Lansing Area this being one of them and the other does not have all full hook ups and charges more.  When we visit our daughter at Michigan State University this is the place we stay,  20 - 30 minutes into the University depending upon the traffic.

It has large wooded sites only electric but you can fill up the water at the dump station.  Each site has a picnic table and Fire ring.  Each campsite has a asphalt pad. They sell fire wood at the campground office. Bring what you need or you can go into St. johns to the Kroger or Walmart.  they have 2 main camping loops with 2 loops in each of the main loops and a shower restroom in each main loop.  The restrooms are very clean and kept up.  I love the showers  hot water and for me that is hot and great pressure, I could shower all day.  Sure beats our shower in the RV.

The State Park is on Ovid Lake and it is a beautiful lake, great for fishing, canoeing, paddle boards, kayak, and swimming. they have a shelter for you if you have a big party.

They also have a group campsite and a picnic area for large groups. d You can also bring your horses go to the Equestrian area and unload and get on the trail.

You can rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boards.  They also have a great play ground for the kids and a fishing pier. Bring Bikes or just hike on the trails and head down to the beach.

    Michawana Campground

Nice campground even if you aren't religious

Stayed here for 5 nights and I am actually surprised at how nice it is. Staff is super friendly and accomodating, lots of stuff to do if you have kids and most of it is free. Campground is clean and kept up and all sites have water and electrical. Not all have full hookups though so make sure you are booking full hookup if you need it. The lake nearby is clean and they have a swimming spot for kids and adults. Boats and kayaks are free to use if the lifeguard is on duty. There is also fishing rods to use for free. There are also coin washers and dryers to use. I only dock one star because the bathrooms and showers are HORRID. At least the men's bathrooms are, smells so strongly of urine and they do not clean it regularly. Mildew is also all over the ceiling and the benches in the showers. But that is my only issue with the place.

    Bishop Lake Campground

    Good family campground

This is a larger state park with full size sites for RVs. There is electric on each site along with fire rings and picnic tables.

Some good spots have some shade to stay out of the sun. The beach is pretty good for swimming.

The bathrooms are clean and the showers were warm.

Deep Lake Rustic Campground — Yankee Springs Recreation Area - TEMPORARILY CLOSED IN 2024

    Nice rustic site

Nice rustic campground with a beautiful lake view. Nice big fire rings. Vault toilet and water pump nearby. Some what level site but in the small side. Perfect for tent camping or a teardrop. Definitely nothing over 15'. Was able to park across from my site to maximize space.

Gorgeous little lake town just 8 miles away has a full grocery store and restaurants.

Campsites border the Deep Lake trail.

    Family Campground

    Small but comfortable

We stayed there for a wedding that was taking place down the road. While it is mostly a seasonal campground we felt quite at home as there are many friendly faces. Only water and electric hook up but fairly big sites. Bath house and shower located up front with dump station as well. We will definitely be back. They try to get the entire campground involved and do bonfires at the office each night.

Looking allot better then previous years. Lots of lot improvement so it’s not so bumpy and off level. Neighbors had a problem with there electric box the owner was there in 5 minutes to fix it.

Portage Lake Campground — Waterloo Recreation Area

Winter Wonderland Retreat from our RPod

We purchased our new rPod 193 late in the fall and have been dying to give it a test camp and Michigan Winter Weather gave us a great opportunity the week after Christmas (2021). First word of caution, when you are putting in directions put in Portage Lake NOT Waterloo Recreation Area. We made that mistake and were directed down a dirt road! Yuck!

The best part of this campsite was the fact that it was paved! It was so easy setting up and tearing down. No mud, muck, or dirt. There were fire pits, picnic tables, and electric. The restrooms were closed for the season but they had a large port-a-potty.

It was quiet, due in large part to being nearly vacant this time of year. We did have one neighbor for one of our 4 nights and were surprised at how close the spots were. You don’t realize it until someone parks along side you.

We had a large snowfall the second night and it was gorgeous. With 40° temps it mostly melted the next day, but when it was coming down it was so beautiful watching it come down from inside our warm cozy trailer.

With it being off-season we didn’t get to experience any amenities to speak of, but noticed during peak season you came rent boats, shelters, and they have a concession stand.

There was some wildlife - we were greeted by a deer crossing our path. Cranes, Swans, Geese, and even a Bald Eagle soared by. I also noticed some coyote tracks in the snow as well.

We had a great view of Portage Lake from our rPod window. And we captured a sunset, some snowfall, and saw more start than we’ve seen in a long time.

    First pop up camping trip.

Recently, I inherited a pop up camper and chose this place to be my first location to try it out. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our site was nice with electric and water hookups. My personal wifi off of my phone connected well. Very quiet. Some small places to explore for some quick walks. All around a good place to land for a few nights.

    Camp Turkeyville RV Resort

    Family campground

Family campground with restaurant, gift shop, camp store, ice cream parlor, and hested pool. The only negative is the campground is basically in a field with very little trees and the sites are close together. There see 127 sites all of them have a firepit and electric hook up and cement pad. There are showers and a camp store...everything looks updated recently. There is a volleyball pit, playground, and horseshoes. The "fishing pond" is very small.

    Taylor's Beach Campground

    A little too crowded

first off the pros. great beach and swimming area great splash pad for little kids awesome playground bathrooms are nice

cons: too crowded small sites quiet time not enforced lots of seasonal campers so it has more of a trailer park feel than a campground feel

not the worst, not the best. it was nice that’s it’s not too far away for us but we probably won’t be going back
