Good summer weekend destination

If you have any watercraft, this is a good weekender spot. The hike trails are easily traversed and if you ask the camp ranger at reception, you can also rent single or tandem kayaks for *quite a reasonable price in varying time blocks if you don't have any watercraft of your own - you just tell…

Small Campground, Big enjoyment!

We have been camping here for 13 years. We love how kid and adult friendly it is and it’s super clean! The lots are well spaced and we have never had a bad time here! Even when it rains!

I'd visit again

The campsite was pretty good. Lots of wooded area and plenty of space. Not a ton of level ground, but enough. The vault toilets were surprising clean. There were, however, a few very loud children screaming non-stop. Other than that, it was fairly quiet.

Nice rustic site

Nice rustic campground with a beautiful lake view. Nice big fire rings. Vault toilet and water pump nearby. Some what level site but in the small side. Perfect for tent camping or a teardrop. Definitely nothing over 15'. Was able to park across from my site to maximize space.

Gorgeous…

Riverside campground

We stayed here full time for a month. Nice place, full hook promised but didn’t get at check in. Nice place but could use some TLC. Has a large pool and right on river. Everyone is nice and quiet during week. Would stay again - but not long term.

Large RV resort!

We had a great time camping at Hidden Ridge. Amenities were great, everything well kept and clean. This park is very big. Seems to have a lot of seasonal campers there but still spots for the vacationers too. The pool was nice, and the playground very fun for kids. Sunday morning they have…

Great woodsy campground with lots of activities

Great campground with amazing views and tons of activities to do.

We camped during the week so many of the campground provided activities where not happening but many other outdoor activities to do.  The first is obviously Hardy Pond.  With a beautiful beach that we saw park staff racking every…

Beautiful Location

First time in central Michigan and it was absolutely beautiful. The campground has a great location and lots of mountain bike and hiking trails. Firewood is not available on site but is at a local convenience store. Boat launch is available at Deep Lake just down the path in the campground. We had…

Great quiet place

As I am entering the old fart stage in my life I really enjoyed how private the sites are and how incredibly quiet it was there. Definitely my favorite place to camp near my home.

Beautiful Sites

Definitely glamping. Brand new facilities. Close to downtown. Sites available right on the river. Only downside is the sites are close together.

Beautiful location, bad timing to go tho…gypsy moth infestation made things interesting

This was such a beautiful location!! And definitely a nice find! The one and biggest downside, which was NOT the parks issue more of a Michigan problem, was the infestation of gypsy moth caterpillars literally raining down on us the entire time…harmless little fuzzy guys but sooo damn annoying!!!!…

Great activities for outdoors lovers

Ionia has so many great outdoor activities for almost anyone.  There is a disc golf course, mountain bike trail, equestrian trails, hiking trails, a beautiful no wake lake perfect for swimming, kayaking, or fishing.   The beach is fantastic especially for little kids who might not be the best…

Adventure abound

The campground and facilities are a little run down. Lake was very weedy, they haven't had rain in quite a while so lake was not in great shape. Staff could be more friendly. The gypsy moth caterpillars were everywhere.

Beach campground

I love camping right next to the beach. The have a good amount of showers they are all private. The only downfall for me is the sites are very very close together. Other than that, you are right by all the action. You can sit in the sand and watch boats come through the channel. You can lay out on…
