LegendDanforth Bay has been the staple campground for my family through the years. Its rare to find a campground with so many spacious wooded sites overlooking the water. They seem to always have events & family friendly activities to keep kids entertained. I always appreceiate the onsite kayak rentals for exploring the river that runs along the campground. Mary’s mountain is a nice hike accessible from the RV/Boat storage area.
GuideUsed this spot for two day stop-over to visit family nearby. Friendly and accommodating. Terrain is a little hilly and tight for large vehicles. Sights are comfortable size. We were there mid-week before school let out. Very quiet.
ScoutWe stayed here right after Memorial Day weekend, so the campground was mostly cleared out and quiet. The bathhouse was very clean (coin-operated showers), and the sites were spacious. However, with more people there, it seemed like it would feel a little crowded, with the tent sites being so close together.
This campground is also very close to a public beach and a very short drive to Darmascota, so overall, I am very happy with the location and experience!
GuideThis a beautiful spot, right on the Lake, listened to the loons, watched Canadian Geese with their goslings and saw a bald eagle swoop down and try to get something. There is a Really nice grocery store near by. We went to Maine Cabin Masters Store, which if you’re a fan was fun.

I really enjoyed my stay at Runaround Woods in Bobcat for three nights! The lodging was warm and comfortable with great views. I was able to watch the moon rise each night as I was falling asleep.
The campground was set in the woods with lots of wildlife and amazing views of the night sky. Fun walking trail around the property. I played multiple rounds of disk golf and stopped at the proshop for a runaround woods branded disk. The wood fired sauna was really nice after a day of snowboarding. The host Ryan was very accommodating and helped me get the most of my stay. Ryan help heat up the sauna and also had great recommendations for local dining and shopping.
Highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to get out and explore Maine! Fun and comfortable lodging with a great host!
