Reservations are available at Family and Friends Campground in camping spots near Standish, with nightly rates ranging from $30 to $155 and a season running late April through mid-October. The campground accommodates RVs up to 55 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer, plus a dump station on site. Access is hilly and wooded, and multiple reviewers flag that the roads are steep and uneven, making maneuvering large rigs genuinely difficult. Individual sites vary in size, and at least one pull-through is a tight fit even for a 21-foot travel trailer with a full-size truck.
The campground sits near a lake, and water access is a recurring topic in reviews. Many surrounding beaches are restricted to local residents, but the campground sells a $10 beach pass for its private beach. Only two passes are available at a time, so campers interested in lake access should plan to ask early. Staff get consistent praise across reviews for being helpful and responsive, including allowing guests to use an on-site lodge during rain.
One practical note for RV campers: the water supply carries noticeable iron content. Mae notes it is "yellow and stunk of iron," though management confirmed it is safe to drink. Amenities include showers, coin laundry, a pool, hot tub, and WiFi. Pets are allowed. The campground works best for tent campers or smaller RVs comfortable navigating narrow, sloped terrain, and for anyone using it as a base for visiting the lake or nearby family.
