This place is way out of the way you're going to be 45 minutes from the nearest Walmart. Cell phone service when it's working is good although there were two outages in the week I was there. There does not seem to be a time limit for staying, if there is it's not enforced. Plenty of spots along the ocean there's even two rows of compacted sand for a lot of it. Speaking of sand it will get everywhere in your camper. I was there beginning of February and the mosquitoes are relentless. Bring bug spray make sure it's got deet. Everyone I met there was very nice.

Bundick Lake Retreat and RV is simply amazing! The spacious RV sites are surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the lake views are breathtaking. We loved the pool, game room, and mini golf course, which kept our family entertained for hours. The pavilion with picnic areas was perfect for gatherings. The staff was friendly and helpful, making our stay even better. This is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway—I can't recommend it enough!

Vinton RV Park is fantastic! The spacious concrete pads made parking easy, and the full hookups were a big plus. We enjoyed the refreshing pool and the fun rec and game rooms. The park is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, with plenty of space to relax. Highly recommend it for a comfortable stay!

The clubhouse at this park just outside Lake Charles is seriously impressive. It’s huge and offers everything you could need from billiards, shuffleboard, a cozy reading nook, restrooms, a full kitchen, and tons of seating for parties or events.
There's also a super spacious co-working office space, which is rarely used, making it even better if you need a quiet spot to work.
The park also has a great pool, perfect for relaxing.

The pool is great, but the massive clubhouse is most impressive with billiards, shuffleboard, a cozy reading nook, a full kitchen, restrooms and plenty of seating for events or parties. And they also have a separate large co-working office space, all available to the guests and rarely used I might add making it even nicer.
Free laundry, Wifi and Electric (included in your lot rent).
$575/mo for grass/gravel pad may sound high, but when you realize that it includes all of this you realize it's actually a great deal!

Our RV GPS and Waze took us right to White Oak Park. We went directly to pull through site 6 with FHUs. All sites are pull-throughs and the 3 FHUs nearest the bathhouse have long pads(easily fit our 40” 5th wheel and F450 plus are more spacious than their 5 water and electric sites. All the sites have a really nice stand-up barbecue and their own trash can. Water pressure was good at 50 psi and we had no issues with utilities. There are some trees, but we were able to get a north sky shot for Starlink. We got 2 bars on Verizon. There’s a playground and a boat ramp into the river not far away. Right about dusk when the mosquitos started coming out, a spray truck came in, which was nice. The campground (CG) host who lives in the Thibodeau house across from site 6, came by to get one of our driver’s license numbers as check-in. Two roosters were running around the CG that started crowing at about 3:00 AM. Our Riley friends had suggested this quaint little 8-site CG and we wished we had stayed more than just overnight in this quaint little city park.

Loved our time at the Pickled Pelican. Hosts very communicative & helpful. $75 did seem a bit high since there are no amenities, but the beach is close, clean, & quiet! Very soft sand compared to Galveston. Concrete pads & full hookups. Trash has to be driven about 2-3 min away.
GuideGreat spot to pull over your car to park on the sand. Lots of other RVs but not crowded and theres a long stretch of hard packed sand that i was able to access without a truck or RV. More people showed up around 5 but stayed a bit and left. Quiet night and morning.

One review here mentioned mosquitoes and its true, spent about an hour before bed slapping myself silly from all the ones that had gotten inside.

Made the grave mistake of opening the van door at night and spent the next TWO DAYS hunting down hundreds of mosquitos in our van from those two seconds. It was a nightmare.
TravelerI have camped with friends numerous times at the Pickled Pelican. March 2024 was my first trip with my own camper. The RV spots are all level concrete in excellent condition. There are twelve spots as close to the beach as you can get, with a covered picnic table and grill. There are also 8 spots that do not have the covered picnic tables, across the street from the cabana sites. Four of those are set up to be used as buddy sites where two RVs can park with their camp sides facing each other and have no problems reaching hookups. Water/sewer/electric hookups are all well maintained. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Ice, bait, and some seafood is available in Holly Beach. No convince stores or gas stations thanks to hurricanes. Closest grocery store, gas/diesel, and general merchandise is in Hackberry, 20 minutes north. There is a convenience store a little closer in Johnson Bayou to the West, as well as in Cameron to the East. Going to Cameron requires crossing via a ferry, not always in service.

This location, the hosts, the animals and ponds all place you in a calm cocoon. My dog was thrilled to be allowed of leash. I loved the convenience of having electric and a beautiful pond view.

We chose Hidden Pines for our first trip with new travel trailer due to close to home. Not a lot of campers due to expected heavy rainfall. It did rain, but only one night so had relaxing time outdoors during daytime. Very impressed with Campground - no puddles or standing water with the amount of rain received. The sites are well planned. Staff and family members were extremely nice and offered any help. Will plan more trips to Hidden Pines!
