    Lakeview Park

    PRETTY, BUT NOISY

Don't get me wrong, I am not antisocial, but when I go camping I really want the natural quiet of nature. It was pretty busy, with many people gathered and partying. Kids driving crazy on golf carts. Otherwise, the property is pretty. The sites are easily accessible (our camper is approximately 30 ft). The showers were not available d/t covid 19, but were there. Our site 12 was level and had full hookups. Pet friendly. Large trees. Store on site and snack shop near the beach. Very kid friendly.

    L'Acadie Inn & RV Park

Not much too it, but good location for Cajun Mardi Gras

We decided last minute to check out Cajun Mardi Gras and L'acadie had a spot open so we took it.  Everyone there was perfectly nice and it was a great location to get downtown Eunice to watch the festivities.  However, there really isn't much to this park.  You are basically parking in a field behind the hotel office.  There is no bathroom/shower facility either - FYI!  However, we did love checking out Cajun Mardi Gras.  It was seriously unlike anything we had ever seen!!

    Vinton RV Park

Laundry, Electric, Wifi All Included in Lot Rent!

The clubhouse at this park just outside Lake Charles is seriously impressive. It’s huge and offers everything you could need from billiards, shuffleboard, a cozy reading nook, restrooms, a full kitchen, and tons of seating for parties or events.

There's also a super spacious co-working office space, which is rarely used, making it even better if you need a quiet spot to work.

The park also has a great pool, perfect for relaxing.

For $575/month it’s an incredible deal as electric, Wi-Fi, free laundry and the premium amenities are all included in the rent!

    Intracoastal Parish Park Campground

    Dave and DiDi Go Crabbing

This was our second visit to this nice campground. Improvements were made after Hurricane Rita, All sites are gravel with plenty of room. Each side includes a picnic table-- with those between the two boat ramps covered--as well as a garbage can. Easy access to water for fishing and crabbing at the park plus convenient location to national refuge and coastline to the south. Bathrooms were adequate, spacious, and clean. Dump site also clean. Walkways and docks along the canal with a fish cleaning station on main covered dock area. New playground equipment and meeting room (rental) but closed due to COVID-19. Agree with previous review about noise. We were further away and didn't notice road or water noise at night. Good TV reception with regular antenna. Also no problems cell phone reception (ATT). We will definitely stay here again. This visit we were in our 25 ft travel trailer,

    Beautiful Cypress Swamp Camping

This is an RV campground, for the most part. But I slept in my SUV. The slab camping is not private, BUT it also is not overrun with bugs. Very park like in the camping area.  Restrooms/showers were clean and modern. The adjacent cypress swamp is pretty and has lots of paths to enjoy. There are cabin areas as well. Definitely would return.

Great for hiking, biking, and kayaking

If you like Louisiana Wildlife this is the place for you! I saw a couple of lounging alligators, egrets, snapping turtles, deer, and a chipmunk!!! I was kind of scared when I saw a sign on the trails warning of the gators! As far as RV camping, it wasn't a really nice area. The site we were in was 56, I don't reccomend it. Pretty unlevel and very close to other campers. When it rained, the water pooled on the backside and where the picnic table was. There was a shower house. It was old, but really clean.

Red Shoes RV Park & Chalets

    Kinder, LA….A favorite

Check in was a breeze. Ample sized cement sites with picnic tables. Our 42” 5th wheel has 4 slides and the site was roomy. Hookups we’re good. We were close to dog park which was perfect. Lovely clean campground. The lodge where you register was pretty. Could be marked better as it doesn’t mention anything about registration. There is a guard shack but doesn’t seem to be managed 24/7. So it’s kind of a false sense of security. The pool is large but a long way from the rv park itself. They have a 24 hour shuttle that takes to back and forth to casino. That really is all there is to do here as Lake Charles is 44 min away. We had some people at their camper who felt they should share their music with the entire park. I realize they’re allowed to have loud music until a certain time- however when you can hear it over your TV while sitting in your camper I just think that’s rude! The laundry is very small considering the size of the park and it seemed that people from the hotel used it which I don’t understand as it’s for the RV park. They have 4 dryers only 2 working, 4 washers only 3 working. I had to wait for people to finish with washers and dryers in order to do my 2 loads. Never spent 3 hours doing laundry before. These people were definitely NOT rv’ers! They had suitcases!

Guide to Bell City

Camping cabins near Bell City, Louisiana offer access to the Gulf coastal wetlands at elevations averaging 10-15 feet above sea level. The subtropical climate brings humidity and summer temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F, with mild winters rarely dropping below freezing. What to do

Fishing access near cabins: The Intracoastal Parish Park Campground offers cabin stays with immediate water access for fishing enthusiasts. Waterfront views: The cabin locations at Myers Landing provide direct water vistas. One camper states, "Don't know why I've never heard of this place before but it's amazing. Rustic mom and pop place tucked away in a country setting right on the water. We had a waterfront view and hated to leave to head home."

Scenic boat traffic: Visitors staying in cabins mention the interesting passing vessels. "This little hidden gem was amazing. Beautiful sunrise/sunsets. Loved watching the tugs, barges and fishermen. So affordable too!" notes one reviewer about their experience at Intracoastal Parish Park.

What you should know

Water quality concerns: Some cabin locations report issues with water systems. At Myers Landing and RV Park, a visitor noted the need to rely on personal supplies: "The campground is very nice, the lakeside is beautiful, we loved the little market right in the front by the lake and the lady working there is very nice. However the water smelled very badly like metal."

Supplies needed: Most cabins require guests to bring personal items. Bedding, cooking utensils, and toiletries are typically not provided in standard cabin rentals. Locations like Myers Landing have small markets, but selection is limited compared to city stores.

The slab camping is not private, BUT it also is not overrun with bugs. Very park like in the camping area. The adjacent cypress swamp is pretty and has lots of paths to enjoy," explains a visitor.

Rain preparation: The area receives significant precipitation year-round. Cabin sites with covered picnic areas provide protection during sudden downpours, which is essential when traveling with children.

Red Shoes has limited facilities: "The laundry is very small considering the size of the park and it seemed that people from the hotel used it which I don't understand as it's for the RV park. They have 4 dryers only 2 working, 4 washers only 3 working."

"This isn't a destination town so prices are reasonable and the facilities are in great condition. Very friendly camp hosts, and a good spot for a layover," mentions a visitor who appreciated the value.
