Where the Portneuf River curves through southeastern Idaho, River Meadow Campground spreads across an open meadow bordered by trees. The private campground sits just outside Lava Hot Springs, providing tent campers with ample space in a large grassy area. A half basketball court and two metal pavilions occupy the parking area, while picnic tables and metal fire rings scatter throughout the meadow.
The facility includes one large handicap-accessible restroom. Campers can explore campgrounds around Lava Hot Springs or visit nearby Smith's Trout Haven for additional riverside options. The river runs along the southern edge of the property, offering direct water access.
