Reservations are essential for most RV parks in the region, particularly during summer months and holiday weekends. The area experiences significant seasonal variations, with many parks operating only from May through October due to mountain weather conditions. Dump stations are available at most parks, but travelers should note cellular coverage can be spotty in mountain locations. Pet policies vary by location, with most parks allowing pets but enforcing leash requirements. Highway 55 provides the main access route to campgrounds in the area, though some mountain access roads may require careful navigation. Winter camping options are limited, with Boise-area RV parks like Hi-Valley and Boise Riverside offering year-round operation for those needing full hookups outside of peak season.

      River Point RV Park

      Newer, Nice, Maintained, Friendly!

This is a nice place. Not too expensive, close to town, traffic noise isn't bad, great staff and host. It's clean, newer amenities include some limited food items, ice, BBQs, dog area, propane, pool table, tennis court (or whatever ball you want to use for this size net), 1/2-court basketball, volleyball. They even have the balls to use (don't know about tennis or other similar-size balls though).

Large, wide spaces, many pull throughs. I can fit my truck next to my travel trailer. Asphalt drives and stall sites. Showers/restrooms are clean, so is the laundry area, all with newer equipment. Each shower/water closet is its own small room, hooks, bench, ADA accessible, sink, just like your own restroom. Laundry is $2 wash, $2 dry, quarters.

      Ambassador RV Resort

      Absolutely Nicest!!!

We stayed at the Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell, Idaho in July and September 2021. This is one of the nicest, cleanest, well-maintained parks we have stayed at. This RV resort is a short drive off I84 and when you pull through the front gate, you become immediately aware that you are in for a great stay. The park is impeccably maintained. Huge pull-thru sites on level river rock pads. Directly beside the rock pad is a wide concrete patio area followed by another wide grassy area. Tons of room to set-up and relax outside. The pool, hot tub, and steam room are centrally located and are clean and inviting. The office and maintenance staff are top notch. You can even drop your garbage bag at the back of your camper in the morning and they pick it up and dump it for you. If you need propane, they will pick up your tank and bring it back to you. The resort also has the nicest gated dog run area we have ever seen. The WiFi worked great and they have cable. It was an absolute joy to stay here and we went back a second time this summer because we enjoyed it so much! For videos of the resort, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

      River Point RV Park

      Don't recommend.

Stayed here long term for 5 months. Price was good, laundry and bathrooms were clean clean. My wife and I were asked to leave because I complained about their creepy pervert maintenance guy. I caught him looking in the windows of our vehicles and rv more than a few times. I finally had enough when I caught him looking into the back glass door of our toy hauler. I went to the office and said I was going to notify the local police about it. The manager said the park had the right to look anywhere they wanted. They next day we were asked to leave.

      Chalet RV Park

      Good place!

This is a family friendly campground that is convenient to Donnelly and Cascade areas. AT&T 3bars LTE service as well as free wifi make communication and planning easy. Full Hookup sites, some tent sites, trash, showers, laundry, toilets all accessible with site rent. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Clean facilities, family owned.

      Boise Riverside RV Park

The Perfect RV Park For Visitors to Boise, Idaho

This RV Camping Site is AWESOME! They do allow tent camping and have cabins. They have full hookups for RV's as well. There is a lower rate for "back-ins" to the Boise River Greenbelt. They also have a higher rate for Pull Through Sites for RVs. There is so much to do in the area. Biking, hiking, walking along the Boise River. There is also some great fishing on the Boise River. This location is centered for city goers, snow skiers, white water rafters and anglers. We visited some nice restaurants within a short drive of the campgrounds. We rode our bikes along the trails, upstream and downstream. The campgrounds also rent bikes for those that don't have their own :-) You will not be disappointed with this campground if you want to get to know Boise, Idaho.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

      Lake cascade has it all

at 47 square miles lake cascade has it all. It is a beautiful upland lake that is warm enough to swim in all summer long and deep enough to have some serious fishing if you bring our boat. there are 10 campground units spread around the lake. I have stayed in 5 of those. On the west side of the lake you have huckleberry, which is shaded from the brutal afternoon sun due to being at the foot of west mountain and about 2 minutes from Tamarack ski resort. It has water, but no electricity or sewer for trailers. the beach is sandy and very nice. Poison Creek is farther south on the west side of the lake. This is a very nice trailer camp with W/S/E. The showers are awesome there too. On the north east side of the lake is sugarloaf. if you are camping it will be very hot during the summer. The swimming area and boat launch is worth the heat though. If you are coming up for the day I would stop there. Right in the town of cascade is ridgeview campground. This is a full service camp with wide and deep trailer spaces. If you are glamping this is the place to go. 2 minutes to the diner in town and wifi. The beach here is great and the views are really awesome. Just across the bay from ridgeview is the first come first serve crown point. there is community water and pit toilets but the beaches are granite outcroppings are great. I highly recommend lake cascade. And at 70 miles from Boise it can be a day trip.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

Scenic Campsites Just North Of Boise, Idaho. A Nice Quick Getaway!

Lake Cascade State Park has some beautiful scenery from any of the sites you stay at. There is tent and RV camping in the area. I suggest reserving a site far in advance because they fill up quick. The lake freezes over in the winter time, but if you are willing to rough it in cold weather, there are some sites available. Call before you head to the lake. There are several activities you can do at this campground, from fishing, boating, sailing and Moutain biking. Some sites have full hook-ups and there is a dumpstation for RVs. There are some ADA sites as well as group and Yurt camping. This campground is for everyone! From those willing to rough it to those who are into "glamping" :-)

    Guide to Ola

RV parks near Ola, Idaho include Roystone Hot Springs RV and Camping in Sweet, offering full hookup sites with electric, water and sewer connections for larger rigs. The gravel sites accommodate big rigs while providing picnic tables and fire rings at each location. "The site was exceptionally clean as well as all facilities, to include restrooms," noted one visitor about Roystone Hot Springs. Waters Edge RV Resort in Cascade operates seasonally from May to October with full hookups and riverside camping opportunities. Arrowhead RV Park on the River provides similar riverside sites with 50-amp electrical service, though some travelers report tight spacing between sites.

Advance reservations are essential during summer months when mountain RV parks fill quickly. Most parks offer dump stations, though availability varies seasonally with several closing entirely during winter. Cell service tends to be stronger at parks near Highway 55 corridors, while more remote locations may have limited connectivity. Parks within the region generally allow pets with standard leash requirements. A review mentioned that "They do have a club house with games, a pickle ball court and a basketball court" at one of the newer facilities, indicating family-friendly amenities that supplement basic RV necessities. Travelers should note that mountain access roads can involve elevation changes and occasional sharp turns when approaching some of the more scenic locations.
