Best RV Parks & Resorts near Idaho City, ID

Several RV parks operate within 30-45 minutes of Idaho City, Idaho, providing full hookup options for motorhome travelers. Mountain Home RV Park, located about 40 miles southeast, offers year-round RV camping with level gravel sites, 50-amp electrical service, and full hookups. The park features spacious pull-through sites that accommodate big rigs up to 40 feet in length. Hi-Valley RV Park in Boise provides similar amenities with concrete pads and ample space between sites. Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell stands out with its highly-rated facilities and big rig friendly layout. "The sites are very easy to access and the picnic benches are spotless," noted one RV traveler about Mountain Home RV Park, highlighting the well-maintained nature of these facilities.

Seasonal considerations affect RV camping availability in the Idaho City region. During summer months, reservations are strongly recommended as parks fill quickly with travelers. Most RV parks near Idaho City maintain on-site dump stations and propane refill services, with Mountain Home RV Park offering propane at competitive rates ($2.70/gallon reported in 2021). Cell service varies significantly - while parks closer to Boise generally provide reliable connectivity for Verizon and AT&T users, coverage becomes spotty in more remote locations. Pet-friendly policies are standard across most parks, with dedicated dog run areas available at several facilities. Navigation to some parks requires careful planning, as mountain roads can present challenges for larger motorhomes, particularly during winter months when snow and ice may affect road conditions.

This is our second stay here since new ownership. First trip was June 2022 and October 2922.  Both trips we had an awesome time. Just in a few months this place has made some very nice improvements and still has amazing views surrounding the camp ground. After staying a few places in the area over this past summer, Trinity View Resort for us is our top pic and will be spending a lot more time here in the future. Both trips we had our E-Bikes and took some amazing rides through the valleys and mountains and still haven't explored all the areas available here.

Cell service is good here. We have Verizon hot spot that worked perfectly and AT&T cell phones have good signal as well,

There are different options for all kinds of campers from, Full hook ups ( Big rig friendly) to tent camping. On site RV rentals and cabins are also available.

Lots of fun stuff to do here for the whole family or even groups.

The people here are friendly and respectful to other campers as well as super friendly staff and owners. Very friendly to work with and communication with changes if need depending availability.

This resort is well on its way to be one of the best camp resorts in this area. Well worth the trip for sure.

    Ambassador RV Resort

    Absolutely Nicest!!!

We stayed at the Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell, Idaho in July and September 2021. This is one of the nicest, cleanest, well-maintained parks we have stayed at. This RV resort is a short drive off I84 and when you pull through the front gate, you become immediately aware that you are in for a great stay. The park is impeccably maintained. Huge pull-thru sites on level river rock pads. Directly beside the rock pad is a wide concrete patio area followed by another wide grassy area. Tons of room to set-up and relax outside. The pool, hot tub, and steam room are centrally located and are clean and inviting. The office and maintenance staff are top notch. You can even drop your garbage bag at the back of your camper in the morning and they pick it up and dump it for you. If you need propane, they will pick up your tank and bring it back to you. The resort also has the nicest gated dog run area we have ever seen. The WiFi worked great and they have cable. It was an absolute joy to stay here and we went back a second time this summer because we enjoyed it so much! For videos of the resort, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

    The Wagon Wheel

    Small grounds with peaceful atmosphere

These grounds are truly tiny. There are several spaces occupied by long term residents and others have visitors like us who are just passing through. The grounds themselves are well-kept with lots of mature trees around the sites providing shade and large shrubs and fences ensuring privacy from the outside.

The park has easy entry on N 18th, the park roads are quite wide and navigable and there’s an exit gate just on the other side. While the park accommodates large trailers, I believe all spots are back-in and there’s a couple tricky areas that would be best suited for small trailers. For $40, the price is reasonable for a level pad and full hookups. It’s very quiet, situated off the main road across from a cemetery and a funeral home. It’s a really great option if you want to pay a bit less than the large park down the street and be around far fewer other RVers!

    Mountain Home RV Park

Mountain Home is a great place to stay

Mountain Home RV Resort is a picturesque park with over 280 spots split between a more established shaded spots and newer less shaded area. There are many long term residents yet given the number of available spots this does not present a problem. Shower and laundry facilities are plentiful and clean. There is no charge to use the shower and the cost of washers and driers is nominal. I would defiantly stay here again.

    Boise Riverside RV Park

The Perfect RV Park For Visitors to Boise, Idaho

This RV Camping Site is AWESOME! They do allow tent camping and have cabins. They have full hookups for RV's as well. There is a lower rate for "back-ins" to the Boise River Greenbelt. They also have a higher rate for Pull Through Sites for RVs. There is so much to do in the area. Biking, hiking, walking along the Boise River. There is also some great fishing on the Boise River. This location is centered for city goers, snow skiers, white water rafters and anglers. We visited some nice restaurants within a short drive of the campgrounds. We rode our bikes along the trails, upstream and downstream. The campgrounds also rent bikes for those that don't have their own :-) You will not be disappointed with this campground if you want to get to know Boise, Idaho.

    Mores Creek by Steamboat Gulch

    good for a short stay

A variety of free and dispersed sites, most of them with rock campfire rings, near a nice shallow creek. A fair amount of RV and ATV traffic but still feels pretty secluded. No bathrooms or anything like that but it's only a 3 minute drive from Idaho City.

Country Corners Campground & RV Park

    A gem

Well maintained campground with a super friendly staff. Clean facility: showers (good water pressure) and bathrooms. Reasonably priced laundromat. We were escorted to our gravel pull through site # 6

    Mountain Home RV Park

    Full service and full comfort

UPDATED 2021: This place continues to provide excellent service and clean, spacious sites. Propane is a reasonable price ($2.70/gal as of 3/21). One awesome discovery I made this time around was a trailhead that starts behind Walmart and extends for about 2.5 miles towards Legacy Park. If you’re a runner or walker... give it a shot!

Everything about this RV Park is well-planned and fluid. From the arrival greeting to the spaces themselves, the facilities and the landscaping... it’s all warm and welcoming. They take great care of this park. The spaces are level, the grass between spots is large and manicured, and all the facilities are clean. We didn’t use the restrooms or showers but were told they’re in excellent condition. The sites are very easy to access and the picnic benches are spotless... which is borderline weird. There is a dog run, heated pool and spa, laundry, tetherball and more. Mountain Home RV Park is about 1 hour from Twin Falls and 45 min from Boise. In between both cities are tons of opportunity for outdoor adventure. Less than a mile from you RV spot is a Walmart and a Pilot station. They have propane refilling on site at the park. We would have stayed here for a month if we had the time. We will definitely return.
