Best RV Parks & Resorts near Cascade, ID

RV campsites near Cascade include Waters Edge RV Resort with full hookups and concrete pads for easy leveling, operational from May 1 to October 15. Arrowhead RV Park on the River provides water, electric, and sewer connections with a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. "Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a beautiful site on the river," noted one visitor about Arrowhead. Alpine Lodge and RV features 30 sites with mature trees providing ample shade throughout the day, most sites offering concrete patios and grassy areas. Chalet RV Park in nearby Donnelly accommodates RVs with level gravel sites and full hookups but limited big rig access.

Reservation requirements vary significantly across the region, with summer weekends often booking months in advance. Many parks close seasonally, with most operating between May and October, though McCall RV Resort - Northfolk Lodge remains open year-round. Cell service varies by location—Alpine Lodge reports 2-3 bars for Verizon users while more remote locations have limited coverage. Winter access becomes challenging as mountain roads experience snow and ice conditions. RV parks closer to Highway 55 offer easier accessibility for larger rigs compared to those requiring navigation on secondary roads. Most facilities provide sanitary dump stations, and pets are generally welcome throughout the area's RV parks.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

    Lake cascade has it all

at 47 square miles lake cascade has it all. It is a beautiful upland lake that is warm enough to swim in all summer long and deep enough to have some serious fishing if you bring our boat. there are 10 campground units spread around the lake. I have stayed in 5 of those. On the west side of the lake you have huckleberry, which is shaded from the brutal afternoon sun due to being at the foot of west mountain and about 2 minutes from Tamarack ski resort. It has water, but no electricity or sewer for trailers. the beach is sandy and very nice. Poison Creek is farther south on the west side of the lake. This is a very nice trailer camp with W/S/E. The showers are awesome there too. On the north east side of the lake is sugarloaf. if you are camping it will be very hot during the summer. The swimming area and boat launch is worth the heat though. If you are coming up for the day I would stop there. Right in the town of cascade is ridgeview campground. This is a full service camp with wide and deep trailer spaces. If you are glamping this is the place to go. 2 minutes to the diner in town and wifi. The beach here is great and the views are really awesome. Just across the bay from ridgeview is the first come first serve crown point. there is community water and pit toilets but the beaches are granite outcroppings are great. I highly recommend lake cascade. And at 70 miles from Boise it can be a day trip.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

Scenic Campsites Just North Of Boise, Idaho. A Nice Quick Getaway!

Lake Cascade State Park has some beautiful scenery from any of the sites you stay at. There is tent and RV camping in the area. I suggest reserving a site far in advance because they fill up quick. The lake freezes over in the winter time, but if you are willing to rough it in cold weather, there are some sites available. Call before you head to the lake. There are several activities you can do at this campground, from fishing, boating, sailing and Moutain biking. Some sites have full hook-ups and there is a dumpstation for RVs. There are some ADA sites as well as group and Yurt camping. This campground is for everyone! From those willing to rough it to those who are into "glamping" :-)

Boise National Forest Warm Lake Campground

A Pleasant Camping Area North of Boise, Idaho

This campsite is located east of Cascade Lake and Donnelly, Idaho. It's a scenic road to get there. The camsite we were in was dry camping with no hook-ups. The camping pad for our 27' Travel Trailer was nice and level. Each campsite had a picnic table and a firepit. There are some nice hiking trails in the vicinity. Mountain biking and horse riding is acceptable there as well. Since we had kayaks, we had a short drive to the boat ramp. There is excellent trout fishing. There is a small swim beach near the Warm Lake Lodge and Restaurant, near where the cabins are. All in all, a great stay, away from the city :-) It's a nice peaceful setting.

    Horsethief Reservoir Campground

    Lakeside multi-loop campgrounds

Horsethief reservoir is at about 5,000 feet just east of Cascade Idaho off Warm Lake road. There are 5 public campground loops around the north and northwest shores under Idaho Fish and Game jurisdiction and managed by the Boise YMCA. Most of these loops have just been renovated and re-opened as of May 2022. ALL sites are first come, first served, no reservations. I was told there are about 115 camp sites between the 5 loops. One loop is unrenovated and more primitive/informal at the furthest east loop. We stayed in Osprey cove loop #24 which is one of very few pull-throughs. Most loops are paved with gravel camp site parking. Nice level camping/picnic pads at each site and new metal picnic tables. This lake offers great fishing and kayaking. Motorized boats OK, but NO WAKE allowed so you are just trolling at idle. Many camp sites are shaded. NO water/electric/sewer or dump stations or garbage. Take everything out that you brought in.

    Rattlesnake

    Lovely riverside camping

Great camping right next to the river. Well maintained with access to water (hand pump) and vault toilets. The sites work well for travel trailers (medium size to small) or tents. There were a couple pull through sites. Trees provide partial shade but the campground is in a pretty steep valley so no real sunsets or morning sunrises.

    Bull Trout Lake Campground

    Lakefront off the grid paradise

We LOVED our campsite at Bill Trout Lake. We had a lakefront spot, tons of trees around, and enough space to have privacy from other campsites. All of the campsite we’ve seen were very spacious. We had a camper van and other people had tents. The sites fit a 5-person tent plus a 2 person tent, hammocks, camping table plus camping stove. Each site has a concrete picnic table and concrete benches. All of the lakefront sites on our side had individual access to the lake. The lake is shallow and perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking. We saw one person fishing! This campsite is remote, no cell phone signal and that’s what we were looking for. We were able to disconnect, relax and reset! We had our dog with us and were able to have his lead tied to two trees to allow him to run from one side to another. Tons of chip monks (drove him nuts LOL). We saw a lot of chip monks and pretty birds. Thanks fully we did not see any bears although it is bear country! There was one bathroom by our campsite. Super clean, the campground manager came around everyday to check on the sites and she made sure only those who had a reservation were there. We had a beautiful view of the lake. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I read a book in two days! We definitely want to go back. Our campsite was number 5 and my favorite. Great shaded area. We liked the fact there was a lot of space and you are not on top of one another. We had a camper van and it got a bit chili at night but we had blankets so we were fine. There’s a small area for kids to go biking around these campsites. The closest grocery store and gas station is about 45 minutes from the campground so make sure you have everything you need, unless you plan on driving around! The roads are not paved so make sure your tires are in good conditions so you don’t get a flat. You would be on your own cuz there is no cell signal until you are back on the road (freeway/highway). Well worth the trip! We were there in the middle of the week so it wasn’t busy but it started getting crowded as we were leaving (on a Friday). We would recommend this campground! Get a lakefront spot, bring enough food, drinks, water, a paddle board or just your camping chairs, enjoy the beautiful views of the lake and mountains, disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature and have fun!

    Swinging Bridge

    River & Road

The Swinging Bridge campground had the pros and cons of being right off of hwy 55. It’s easy to access the site and Payette River but you can hear the traffic.

Not an ideal site for big rigs. No showers or cell service but there are vault toilets.

    Rainbow Point

    Quiet, spacious campground

The sites are spaced far apart and very spacious. Campground host is great and the campground is clean. There are a few pull throughs which make it easy for RVs. The beach at the lake is lovely. Site #7 backs up to a large beach area. The campground is convenient to Donnelly and McCall, and quite close to Tamarack Resort (7 minutes), if you are riding there. In fact all the State Park campgrounds in this part of the lake are very convenient to Tamarack. We enjoyed our quiet stay here!

Plenty of off-road trails," notes Kiwi S. about the Lost Valley Reservoir Dispersed Camping Area.
