Nice view and tranquility

The gps for this site was off. It says to take a left at the fork. But the reservoir is to the right. Just follow the posted sign. It was nice and peaceful, tad bit chilly since it’s October. Last year I wasn’t able to get a spot near the lake but there is so many places to boondock up there.

Lakeside Living

We decided to venture out to the Brundage Reservoir area, hoping to find a campsite since we were arriving quite late.  Driving down a pot-holed, dirt road for quite awhile, we found ourselves concerned that we may not find something.  We then spotted a beautiful lake through the trees.  Both of us, as well as our pup, were amazed as we made our way through some brush, at which point we saw an open spot right next to the water.  We unpacked, pitched our tent and settled in for the night (see photo).  Waking up with the sun and making french press by the fire was a great way to the start the day in this majestic area.

To reach the camping area, you'll need to travel down a dirt road with some potholes. At the fork in the road, follow the posted signs directing you to the right to reach the reservoir. The campground offers beautiful lake views through the trees and serves as a convenient base for those wanting to explore the Brundage Mountain area for activities like mountain biking and skiing.

What camping amenities and facilities are available at Brundage Reservoir?

Brundage Reservoir Camping Area is a rustic campground with limited amenities. It offers primitive camping with lakeside sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. For the most productive fishing, consider bringing a small boat or fishing from the shoreline during early morning or evening hours. Check with Idaho Fish and Game for current regulations and fishing licenses before your trip.
