The only private, secluded, well-shaded residential glamping spot, that's close to everything, just 300 ft from Mobile Hwy/Saufley Field Rd. The shou sugi ban cabin, and bathroom, have metal roofs, being recently built- just for campers. The windows are screened or have bamboo, towels and fans are provided, and soon it will have air conditioning. Beds have memory foam mattresses, supplied are clean linens, pillows, heated blankets, and more! Tents may also be booked, providing camping for 14.

Camping guests rest in a cozy cabin, sleep on comfortable, clean beds, and wake-up in the mornings able to make their own coffee, enjoy a light breakfast (muffins, danishes are provided), while being able to sit at their own private sitting areas.

Six-man tents (Coleman "Cabin" brand) may be booked for reservations of 5+ people, giving possible occupancy of 16 guests total (2 tents + cabin). Please inquire about this booking option.

Pull-thru RV/Auto parking, camping, on a paved (pul-thru only) driveway (over 50 feet), with access just feet away to your own private, outdoor,** **FULL bathroom (hot water, urinal, sink, shower, flushing toilet), along with bath towel and basic, personal bath items. Plenty of safe, street parking right at my property, which sits on a corner, dead end street. Electric connection available, not (30/50 amp) RV compatible, however.

There are also many spots that you can set-up a tent.

Dogs welcome, must be leashed at all times.

Smoking cigarettes is not permitted.

Also available for Booking, is a tiny cabin, providing a Queen bed and two Twin bunks, with memory foam mattresses, linens, pillows.

Property is fenced, in a very safe area, just couple hundred feet from a major intersection (Mobile Hwy/Sauffley Field Rd), that provides you quick access to shopping, food, restaurants, gas, Wal-Mart, downtown, and the beaches.

Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center (AUOC) began with two canoes on top of a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass, then expanded to 30 canoes and a 1972 GMC three-quarter ton pickup (affectionately referred to as “Old Blue”). The Blackwater River State Park was the main point of debarkation and phones were answered from the Sanborn family residence in Bagdad, Florida. In 1978, the original Tomahawk Landing was purchased on the Santa Rosa County courthouse steps. It started out as one building and over the years developed into a complete lodging and water recreation resort. By 1982, Adventures Unlimited began adding lodging to further expand its services. Currently there are three rustic camping cabins, the School House Inn (with 8 separate rooms), 18 furnished cottages/cabins (which includes our unique tree house, the Lorax Loft, added in 2013 and Katie’s Kaboose, added in 2016). Two rustic camping cabins and six cottages are designated as “pet friendly.” In the summer of 1994, the Adventures Unlimited Low and High Challenge Courses were completed. Since then, Adventures Unlimited has been the site for retreats of all kinds – schools, military, churches, non-profits, sports teams, corporations, scouts and many others – utilizing the challenges presented by these courses, lead AUOC to become one of the premiere courses in the Southeastern United States. In 2010, we proudly unveiled the Zip Adventures Canopy Tour, where adventure seekers can soar through the glorious tree tops of Northwest Florida and over Coldwater Creek on nearly a mile of zip lines, some as high as 65′ in the air. These programs and activities complement our fleet of 250 canoes, 100 kayaks, 500 tubes and 10 stand-up paddle boards for aquatic enjoyment. Adventures Unlimited also has nearly 100 acres on its Wilderness Resort location campgrounds for groups and individuals, a catering facility, group retreat cabins (which holds up to 70 people), private cabins, a playground, a nature trail, sports fields and a volleyball court. Adventures Unlimited continues to expand to meet the needs of all of our guests – families, honeymooners, friends and many more! Big Meadows Campground is near many of the major facilities and popular hiking trails in the Park, with three waterfalls and Big Meadows within walking distance.

Camping fee: $20 per night

Reservations: in early spring, Big Meadows Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only. Beginning in early May, there are a combination of reserveable campsites and first-come, first-served sites available. Group sites are available and can be reserved up to one year in advance.

RV Information: features pull-through and deep back-in sites which can handle most RVs and a tow vehicle. No electric or water hookups. Campground has potable water spigots and a dump station.

Generators: use is limited to certain areas and times designated on campground map.

Coldwater Gardens

Fort Pickens Campground is situated on Santa Rosa Island, a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore south of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Florida. Visitors (who might be looking for camping near New Orleans) enjoy the seashore for its great recreational activities, historic sites and unique white sand beaches. Recreation Many visitors young and old come to Fort Pickens to enjoy its scenic location on the beach. The white sands of Santa Rosa Island are the perfect place for a long walk or an afternoon of building sandcastles. The warm ocean waters are great for swimming and snorkeling. Fishermen will find a pier just a short distance from the picnic pavilions. It can be used by visitors without a Florida fishing license. Many hiking trails through the sand dunes provide beautiful views and hours of exploration. Historic Fort Pickens, a pentagonal fort built to defend Pensacola Bay in 1834, is just 1 mile from the campground. The structure was fortified after the War of 1812 and was one of four forts in the South never occupied by Confederates during the Civil War. Facilities This large campground is open for reservations year-round. It contains 137 family sites with electric and water hookups, as well as 41 non-electric tent sites. A group site with water hookup is also available. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water and a dump station. There are no boat ramps in the Fort Pickens area. Natural Features The campground is located on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay. Groves of live oak trees are scattered across the island, providing shelter for resident and migrating bird populations, as well as shade for park visitors. The Gulf Islands National Seashore is home to sparkling blue waters, white beaches and coastal marshes. However, more than 80% of the national park is underwater, as it's a vital protective habitat to marine life. Nearby Attractions The campground is a short distance from restaurants and beach nightlife, downtown Pensacola, the Pensacola Naval Air Station and Naval Aviation Museum, the Pensacola Lighthouse and other historic sites.
