    Hideout at The Green Swamp!

Hideout and swamp are about the only truths

Horrible for tent camping. Didn't own an RV. I'm just traveling through, and I went off of what information was listed. This place is pathetic. Not as advertised. Trash is not taken out regularly. One table on the ground, and it's not a picnic camping table. Tent campers have no showers or restroom. Freeway is very close and noisy. Campground is not really for campers. I'd stay away. This place is appearing fraudulent. Owner does not run this property accordingly. Seems like just a place to store RVs. Not for camping in tents or RVs. Stay away. There's much better camping across the state, regulated and maintained.

    Chassahowitzka River Campground

    Clean, easy access to water

It’s a clean park with easy access to boat rentals (kayaks, canoes) and a boat launch if you have your own. Publix and Walmart are ~10 minutes away if you need anything. I came in September after a heavy rain and it was pretty buggy. Bring mosquito repellent. There are a number of long term campers with poorly kept RVs, but everyone is friendly.

    Campers Cove RV Park

More of a permanent living trailer park than an active vacation campground

Unfortunately, the description is incorrect. This is no where near KEY Largo or the Everglades park. This is in the city of LARGO in Pinellas County. It's in Tampa Bay near the Gulf of Mexico.

Largo is a big and busy city and this park on Seminole Blvd. is nowhere near nature. Many people who park there actually live there in permanent trailers. It is an adults only park with a pet weight limit of 20 pounds.

    Natural gem

We stayed in site 26, which was tucked back and fairly private. We planned on trail riding, but rain changed the plans. We didn’t get to explore much, but will be back. Nice long drive down to the sites. Electric and water were both great, and dump stations easy. Staff was extra friendly.

    Great Cheap Option

We stayed one night as our AC was down and we had a Saturday trip planned past this park. We stayed with our membership and booked two nights, so we could check out late on Saturday. Spots were pretty abundant, and we found one by the pool. This is a “pick your spot” when you get there kind of place. Lots of long term guests, but not surprised. Great staff and pool was nice for the kids.

Camping at the Happiest place on earth

Can’t beat the convenience & amenities of the Disney parks are on your itinerary. Super cost effective and direct access to magic kingdom and easy access to all the others. Sites were big, clear and clean. Amenities were wonderful. I’d stay here even if we didn’t do a Disney park. There are so many sites and yes there are people around but there’s serious vegetation between all the sites that you have plenty of privacy. Constant ground crews, sanitation work and transportation options. Pools, restaurants, shops and fun activities going on all the time. We loved it.

    Fun location for the kids

Easy location to get to. The lots are pretty wide open with little shade, but we had a tiki, which was awesome. Pool was nice and warm. Kids loved the slide. Dog park and wash are a bonus. It was about $140 for a family of 6 to eat at the pool, but well above average food!

    Lake Point 55+ RV Park

Small Slice of Semi-Retirement RV Paradise

There’s not a lot to this small RV enclave just due northwest of Mount Dora, but if you’re 55+, looking for a whole lot of peace & quiet and enjoy a rather downplayed and intimate little spot that you can roll your RV upon and anchor for as long as you want, then listen up, Lake Point RV Park might just be your version of paradise. We stumbled across this ‘RV Park’ (but mind you, there’s no rollercoaster, a slide or even swingset to keep the kids entertained, so I’m not quite sure why they’ve labelled themselves a ‘park’) looking for a place to pitch our tent for the night, but this location had ‘no room at the Inn’ (ironically, as it was around Christmas time when we visited) or even a dry patch of land for us to hole up for the night.

While there’s only a few dozen RV slots, all come with the typical hook-ups: water, electric (30 / 50 amp) and sewage. There’s a well-paved roadway into the place, albeit a short one, well, because this place doesn’t take longer than 45 seconds to drive around in its entirety. If you like the sense of getting snuggly with your neighbors, then Lake Point should receive your high scores. Of course, while the population here was certainly aged, they were quite welcoming and seem to have constructed a tight-knit little community here complete with morning yoga, power-walking and group gardening (for those that are inclined) along with some ferocious bocce ball rolling on the side.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) I wasn’t terribly impressed with this place, but let’s just say my particular demographic is not what this RV parking lot attracts; (2) While the surrounding area has a ton to offer from a nature-standpoint, you would need to leave Lake Point RV Park to go find it as where this place sits feels more like suburban sprawl than it does surrounded by nature; (3) If you get tired of cooking up franks & beans on your grill (and you better have brought your own if you come here!), then in 20 minutes you will find a foodie’s paradise back in Mount Dora, where I would highly recommend The Frog & Monkey Restaurant & Pub (an underground cellar featuring live music), 1921 (an historic Floridian home featuring ‘farm to fork’ creative fare) and Pisces Rising (higher vista outlook features Caribbean-inspired meals like Calamari Fries and Caribbean Crab Cakes); and (4) In the event that you are reading this review and have made it this far and are just looking for some gold at the end of the rainbow, then here it is: drive less than 30 minutes from here where you will find a true campground paradise that will have you casting lines in some of the most pristine fresh water lakes, hoisting hammocks from live ancient Oaks dripping with Spanish Moss all with a lakefront vista that cannot be beat – Trimble Park Campground (read my review on TheDyrt for more specific details about this hidden campground gem).

    Happy Camping!

    Ducky's Day Off RV Park

Used to be great, now bad bad bad

This used to be such a great park when it was Ralph's. It's nothing but bad now. Feels like it's been taken over by some corporation that sits around discussing how much they can squeeze out of the elderly every month. There is no communication, no fairness, no consideration for residents. You simply pay more and more every month and then they come at you with the most ridiculous fees for things they made up (ask someone who lives here about their new "shed fee"). Horrible. I'm sad to see it go like this and I'm sure we will be selling due to the awful management/ownership they have in now. Preying on the elderly is not a good look....

    Deer flies and no lake

Was there 5/20. Not much privacy, other campers close. The deer, yellow flies ate me alive, even with heavy duty bug spray. Not on the lake, so no breeze. Have to take a boat on Dead River to see the lake. Neighbors were loud and fighting well past midnight. The famous oak tree is up front by highway. Was a nightmare. Left early.

    Hillsborough River State Park

    Absolutely beautiful park

We were down for a funeral so we, unfortunately, didn’t spend any time in the park or campground. The park is absolutely gorgeous and we can’t wait to return in November for a week long stay. The roads in the campground are a little narrow so maneuvering a larger rig might take some time backing into sites but there were plenty of big rigs there so it is doable. The sites have picnic tables and a fire ring. As far as we could tell, all sites are sandy so I’m sure it would be a little messy after a rain with possible flooding. Our site was perfectly level with no side to side adjustments needed. Our loop was very shaded with gorgeous trees. The rangers were amazing and patrolled the campground on a regular basis. There is a huge pool but it was closed for renovations, opening sometime this summer. There is a small cafe with ice cream and you can rent kayaks or canoes to take a trip down a wonderfully, peaceful river. It was so clear that we could see fish swimming around. No swimming is allowed in the river because of gators but experienced paddle boarders would love the easy paddle. Lots of trails to hike as well.

Definitely a great place to stay right outside the Tampa area. Recommend highly.

    Greedy New Owners

This place is going downhill fast! The new owners are beyond greedy. They raised the rent twice last year, management promised it wouldn't go up again for a couple years but then this year it goes up again! Now they're adding all kinds of fees every couple of months for the most outlandish things! Sheds, carports, washing machines, using anything but cash etc.

Do not bother with this place! They only see you as something to squeeze money from. It wasn't that way with the owners before them. They don't offer any improvements or new services to account for such a drastic rate increase or for how many fees they're adding either - it's purely for profit. Lawn care only happened a few times last winter when it's supposed to be once a week.

Go down the road, there's plenty of other parks way better and more fair than Ducky's!

Nice RV park especially for extended stays

Arrived after hours, and a welcome packet was waiting for us. FHU, corner site with gravel and shade. Saw lots of birds and bunnies. We were in town to visit family. Lots of full timers, but they were all friendly. Didn’t have our dog with us, but lots of dogs at this park. Pool looked amazing big and screened, but didn’t use. Lots of local attractions, restaurants, and shops. Many Kayak launch areas at Crystal River Parks, however we did a tour guide with a clear kayak rental. Get Up and Go Kayak, approx $160 for few hours, great experience and a beautiful area to sightsee. Laid back community and somewhat artsy!

Lots of full time residents. The dog park is big, Pool house, jacuzzi and pool are large and clean. There were activities planned for the kids which was fun! There are tennis courts, which we didn’t use. The playground has many different play areas and was tidy. There are lots of area attractions and a beach with a designated swimming area at the end of the road. If we had come off season, it would have been great. The swing and pond, behind our RV, was a nice touch for our puppy and granddaughter.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

    Tourist-friendly with Activities galore

Had a 2 night tent camp stay here during January. Great option for family reunions, we had my girlfriend’s 30th here, and with our rented golf cart, had no problems escorting our guests to our campsite to enjoy a camp cookout with us at our campsite. Was definitely an authentic Disney experience, with a never ending list of activities with plenty to keep kids and kids at heart busy, which we didn’t partake in since we were enjoying our campsite.

    The Grand Oaks RV Resort

Nice, quiet, well maintained, spacious CG

We have a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 10 for 3 days in late April. The CG is very clean, well maintained. Most of the sites are fairly well spaced, particularly for a private CG. The CG host is very friendly and helpful. The property is expansive. The CG roads are paved and the pads are concrete.

AT&T coverage was ok, with 5 bars of 5G+ service and speeds up to 5 MB/s. Parts of the CG have a few trees, particularly near the entrance where ours was, but most sites deeper in the CG are open. We did have line-of-site to the DISH satellites and did have a clear view north, so Starlink was awesome, with speeds up to 53 MB/s.
