Big Rig Campground 30/50 amps and Smart Weigh Scales

Sumter Oaks RV Campground is part of the SKP Campground membership program so campers allowed are newer models. Campground is quiet with very clean bathhouse and property. Conveniently located one hour north of Tampa, one hour south of Gainesville and one hour west of Orlando and Ocala.  Pricing for the campsites is very reasonable.   Some long-term sites.

Dull

We were very surprised at the lack of activities in and near the park, especially for an Escapees park. We stayed 4 nights and were placed directly adjacent to the activity center — not a great location. We had assumed other campers had already reserved the other open sites, but no one else arrived. It’s on a busy street that leads into Bushnell, which offered no entertainment or museums. It’s fairly close to the Gulf, but there are no sandy beaches nearby. I gave it a 3 star only because it’s a good value for full hookups.

Friendly but noisy

Nice older park with picturesque green swamp behind the park. Friendly, helpful staff. Noisy because of location near busy road. Next time we visit we will ask to stay towards the rear of the park which assume would be quieter.

Casual and Friendly

We cannot say enough thanks to Mike and Tracy who worked the park during our stay, happened to be our next door neighbors, and went above and beyond to help us with some trailer technical difficulties when we really needed it! The park is very well kept and staff were wonderful. Package delivery and pickup is so easy, which we utilized a ton!! All of our neighbors were very friendly as well, this park really has a great community vibe! We stayed here mid March 2021, during the annual caterpillar season, which was certainly not the best nature has to offer, but luckily this only lasts a few weeks out of the year and we were back to enjoying the beautiful weather before we knew it.

Convenient, shady, close to interstate.

Only a little over a mile from the I-75 with easy in and out. Spaces are close together but adequate. Made the reservation the day before and they were able to accommodate us. Only stayed one night but it was quiet, lots of shady oak trees, friendly people.

Nice But Noisy

This is a visually nice park with a lot of shade, full hook ups, showers and laundry. The big downside is the road is heavily trafficked in the morning by construction type dump trucks. Not bad overall, staff and other campers were friendly which is always a plus. Lots of wildlife and a farm next door with goats and donkeys.
