Golden Shore RV Resort's central location provides convenient pet-friendly camping near Signal Hill with full hookups for RVs. The gated resort allows pets in designated areas with standard leash requirements. Nearby Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground and Newport Dunes RV Resort accommodate pets with similar policies. Most facilities maintain clean grounds with accessible walking paths for dog exercise. Los Alamitos Army Campground offers military personnel pet-friendly sites with fewer restrictions, though military ID is required for entry. Seabreeze at Seal Beach provides another military-only option with cement pads and adjacent wetlands ideal for bird watching with leashed pets. The grounds are kept very clean with cement slabs and well-lit walking paths.

Crystal Cove State Park's Moro Campground permits pets in specific areas with standard state park regulations. Campgrounds generally require pets to remain leashed at all times with owners responsible for waste cleanup. Several locations feature nearby beach access points suitable for morning dog walks. The wetlands preserve adjacent to Seabreeze at Seal Beach offers excellent bird watching opportunities and walking paths for pets and owners. During summer months, early morning or evening walks are recommended to avoid hot pavement that can injure paw pads. Several campgrounds offer water hookups convenient for pet hydration needs. The security at these facilities ranges from gated entries to staffed security personnel, creating a safe environment for campers with pets.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Waterfront RV Park, CA

Located in Huntington Beach California. This site is right across the street from the beach. Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping. When we asked for camera footage the owners of the campground claimed the cameras were broken and they couldn’t share the footage. There are many homeless folks living in the area. The showers don’t get hot, but the area is clean. There is a pool and a hot tub and a small dog park. It’s expensive to stay here, but a beautiful spot.

      Hollywood RV Park

      Themed Park!

First of all, staff was amazing. We were originally supposed to arrive on a Tuesday and we’re not able to make it. Staff shifted our reservation instead of us eating the missed night cost. Also super accommodating allowing us to extend a day longer last minute. Park is tight quarters with 200 spots. Two laundry rooms/bathrooms with showers on site, plus a cute little dog park! We stayed for three nights. Every “road” in the park is themed with California or Hollywood themed decorations and murals. We were parked right next to a Mister Roger’s mural across from the laundry/bathrooms. My only complaint in the noise level at times which is not from the park itself. Helicopters would fly over randomly, sometimes at night and it could be annoying when trying to sleep. Otherwise, absolute GEM of a place!

Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park

      Nicest cleanest campground

I had site 126 in the fields, corner site and lake view. This campground has a pool, splash pad, park, dog park and access to the lake. They also have a band on Saturday nights. The only bad part is they strictly enforce quiet time at 10pm. I felt like a kid being told to go to bed. I feel like on weekends people should be able to stay up late in front of their camper with low voices. Shouldn’t be hounded night after night! That was my only complaint.

      Hare School Park

It’s the sports fields parking lot

I’ve been here for a couple days and nobody’s mess with us. There’s other people that are staying in another parking lot attached that are homeless in their vehicles mostly cars and vans. I’m in a 25 foot Fleetwood RV. There’s a dog park kind of area with a big field they can run around and just clean up after them. There’s no public bathrooms, but there are trash cans so clean up after yourself please. It’s not tent friendly. I don’t believe.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

      Bonita Ranch Campground

      Loved this spot!!

A little gem hiding out in Lytle Creek! Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground. Very quiet and interspersed with long time stayers and temporary campers. I stayed in my van and had my cat and dog with me. Campfire wood was easily available and had its own picnic table. Beautiful scenery and we even got a dusting of snow! I stayed two nights while in town for work and it was perfect.

Rolling M. Ranch Campground — Chino Hills State Park

      Beautifully scenic area

Sprawling lush green hills? Can’t beat Chino Hills State Park.
The campground itself feels very close together and wide open compared to the space of the park. Gets loud at night if there are too many groups camping. No cell service. Super clean bathrooms and showers.

PET OWNERS BEWARE: Our dog munched on a frog at this campsite and started foaming at the mouth. We rinsed her mouth out with water and she turned out fine, but a smaller dog or a swallowed frog and she could have died from toxicity.

    Guide to Signal Hill

Signal Hill camping sites offer views of the Pacific Ocean and Long Beach Harbor, with mild temperatures averaging 60-80°F year-round and evening coastal fog common from May through August. The area contains a mix of urban RV parks and state beach campgrounds, most within a 20-mile radius of Signal Hill.

    What to do

Bike along coastal trails: At Golden Shore RV Resort, guests enjoy easy access to Long Beach bike paths. "Great Long Beach location, a nice bike ride along the beach to Naples and the Queen Mary. Highly recommended," notes Theo A. The resort sits near urban cycling routes connecting to major attractions.

Enjoy water sports: Crystal Cove State Park offers excellent tide pooling and ocean activities. A camper shared, "There are plenty of restaurants close by, as well as the beach. It's a great spot to stay if you want to be close to the water and enjoy the ocean breeze." The park includes hiking trails connecting to Laguna Coast Wilderness.

Visit Disneyland: Multiple campgrounds serve as convenient bases for theme park visits. "Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground," reports Amanda G. about Orangeland RV Park. Many campers appreciate the transportation options that eliminate parking hassles at the parks.

    What campers like

Secure facilities: Safety stands out as a priority for campers at Anaheim Harbor RV Park. "On-site guard at night for safety. Would absolutely stay here over and over!" says Tracey S. The gated entrance provides peace of mind for travelers with valuable equipment.

Clean amenities: Newport Dunes RV Resort receives consistent praise for maintenance. "The grounds are kept in excellent condition - very clean and secure. The pool, showers, bathrooms are all spotless," notes a visitor. The resort maintains professional standards despite high seasonal occupancy.

Ocean proximity: Waterfront RV Park provides immediate beach access that campers value. "We really enjoyed this park... mainly due to the proximity to the beach areas. When we booked a trip to Huntington, our main priority was to get to the beach. Booking a site here provided us a excellent homebase that was close to the water," writes Zach R.

    What you should know

Airport noise: Dockweiler Beach RV Park sits under LAX flight paths. "The planes are loud but fun," notes Prince C. The tradeoff for beachfront camping means aircraft overhead throughout the day, though many campers report adjusting quickly.

Reservation challenges: Crystal Cove State Park fills months in advance, especially for weekend dates. "This campground fills up fast so book early!" advises Elly A. The reservation window opens six months before your stay date.

Space limitations: Many Signal Hill area campgrounds feature compact sites. "Sites are very close together so be prepared to meet your neighbors," warns a camper. Golden Shore RV Resort offers slightly larger spots for big rigs, though availability remains limited.

Site surface variations: Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground features concrete parking pad sites. "This campground is nice but it is a little pricey to get an RV spot... Sites next to the beach. Spots are all concrete, very tight so you better be good at backing up your toys," mentions Gavin H.

    Tips for camping with families

Inflatable water activities: Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground offers seasonal rentals. "Had so much fun here today kayaking! It's a great place to enjoy the beach," shares a visitor. The protected water areas provide safer conditions for children learning water sports.

Early morning beach walks: Newport Dunes RV Resort connects directly to protected bay shores. "The campground is clean and right on the beach," says Karissa J. Morning hours offer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds for families with pets.

Pool alternatives: When ocean conditions aren't ideal, several campgrounds maintain heated pools. "Swimming pool and nice club house just perfect for spend time with family. Very recommend this place to anyone," notes a camper at Waterfront RV Park, where the pool area provides a controlled environment away from surf.

Entertainment options: Newport Dunes offers organized activities. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," explains a family camper. Programming varies seasonally with more options during summer months.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: For best views at Crystal Cove, experienced campers recommend specific areas. "The sites are terraced, so no matter which site you get you'll have a view of the ocean," explains Elly A. Higher elevation sites capture better sunsets but experience more wind exposure.

Utility connections: Seabreeze At Seal Beach offers full hookups on cement pads. "Very clean, cement slab, walking paths well lit and near to many areas to explore," notes Geri J. Military ID requirements apply for this campground, restricting civilian access.

Shopping convenience: Orangeland RV Park's location provides easy supply runs. "There are stores and restaurants nearby for those forgotten items or a quick meal," explains a camper. The central Orange County location reduces driving time for necessities.

Length restrictions: Multiple campgrounds enforce strict RV size limits. "The 40ft RV length restriction includes the length of the hitch," warns Prentice F. about one park, noting the importance of understanding total measurements before booking.
