Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," reports Jody R. from Rancho Jurupa Park.
Watersports options: Launch Pointe Recreation Destination provides direct lake access for kayaking and paddleboarding. A camper mentioned that "Canopy Court area has easy and close access to the splash pad, the playground, a large grass area, and even the pool. The boat launch is very near by too."

Beach proximity: Waterfront RV Park in Huntington Beach offers exceptional ocean access. "In all, you are about a 2 minute walk to the sand, and 4 minutes to the oceanfront... We rode bikes along the bike path through Huntington, and went for daily walks as well," shares Zach R.
What you should know
Seasonal closures: Some Dana Point area campgrounds close during peak tourist months. At Huntington Beach RV Campground, "This opens back up in October due to the high traffic of summer visitors... Basically a parking lot on the beach that you can stay and enjoy beachfront," explains Brittney C.
Train noise concerns: Multiple coastal campgrounds report railway disturbances. "The trains - There is a rail right behind the tent sites so if you are looking for the tent sites with quiet location: PLEASE STAY AWAY from here. the trains do not operate from around 10 pm, back on operating starting from 5 am," warns a camper about Oceanside RV Resort.
Site leveling requirements: Prepare for uneven terrain at some locations. One camper noted at Launch Pointe Recreation: "The sites were all uneven. Every camper we saw had to do major leveling efforts."

Recreational facilities: Look for campgrounds with diversified activities. "Great park. It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful... Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups," shares Paul C. about Rancho Jurupa Park.
Entertainment options: Some campgrounds offer scheduled activities. At Newport Dunes RV Resort, camper Karissa J. appreciated how "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach."
Safety considerations: Monitor children in water areas. A visitor at Launch Pointe noted, "We used the campground as a base camp to spend time in LA and San Diego as well as a day in Joshua Tree National Park. 1-2 hours from everything."

Internet connectivity: Work-from-road RVers should check bandwidth limitations. A visitor at Launch Pointe reported, "Internet was great but it had bandwidth restraints that would turn your internet off after very small amounts of data used. There was no option to upgrade so you had to use your own hotspots."
