Best RV Parks & Resorts near Camarillo, CA

Faria Beach Park (also known as Pitas Point by surfers), is the perfect getaway for surfers and beach lovers alike. In the winter, large winter storms bring waves to Faria leading surfers to flock to its shore, and campgrounds. The campgrounds have RV hook ups, and offer the perfect view of the ocean. Campgrounds run $35-$39 and RV hooks up go for $50-$58. There is also a concession stand that offers food and refreshments, perfect for the picnic table. The campsite is well maintained but gets busy during the prime times of the year. Any groceries and supplies can be purchased at Ventura, a 15 minute drive away. For beach lovers, low tide at Faria offer tide pools and a stretch of sand to lay out on or run with the puppy. There are available restrooms, free outdoor showers, trash disposal area and fire pits available at select paid campsites. Faria Beach RV Park is the best camping opportunity to be on the beach, while enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Ocean!

Petty much the best rv park in the area for long term stay

We stayed here 2 nights because it’s a Thousand Trails campground and we’re TT members. It’s in the middle of nowhere in the desert. That’s both good and bad. It’s very very close to railroad tracks and at night the loud train kept waking us up. The sites are dirt so be prepared to get lots of fine dessert dirt in the camper. They had a pool and basketball court and there are lots of tress so that’s good. Full hook ups were available to us no problems with that. We had to change our reservation last minute and the staff was good about it. If you need a place to camp around here I’d reccomenc it if you’re a TT member bc it’s free to members and what’s better than free??

This campground happens to be very close to home so we went here to try out our brand new pull behind camper trailer for the very first time.
The campground is small, quiet and very well-kept.

In fact, every subsequent campground toilet facility I now compared to this one because it was so clean!!

Only 12 sites - all have full hook ups, picnic table and fire pit.

Make note! There is no Wi-Fi here and as best we could tell , no cellular signal for any provider.

Large grassy area for picnicking etc. Small park area for the children. And a really amazing looking archery zone that the public can use on Saturdays for a mere $5

Go here to relax and disconnect! We loved it. 

Part of the Thousand Trails network. There is very clean bathrooms, room for RV'S, a rec center, store, pool, hot tub. There is a small creek and plenty of hiking trails.

It's a very hot campground close to a road and train. Sites are big. Tons of things to do for adults and children. In the summer they had a cart with breakfast and snow cones and nachos for sale in the afternoon. As with all Thousand trail sites, it's pretty decent.

I have been on a 3 month trip and stayed at 22 different campgrounds. Malibu RV Resort has the best views for the price, hands down.

Great location, spectacular views, kid & pet friendly. Lots of Extras!

This Campground belongs to the Thousand Trails network. We use it quite often as it is only 2 hours from our house. The campground is nice. There are wild turkeys that wander thru the campground and you will see an occassional deer or 2. Good & bad is that your wifi, cell service is very limited here. If you want to get away from that hectic "connected 24/7" life this is a place you can do it. If you need that constant connection you won't like it.

The Ventura Beach RV Resort is very nice and a short bike ride or walk from the beach or town. Stay away from the sites in the first row closest to the freeway as those tend to flood. If you're looking for a quiet campground this is likely too loud for you. If you're looking for interaction with other friendly campers then you will likely enjoy it.

Well suited for long-term needs. Beautiful murals throughout park. Laundry, showers/restroom, personal mailbox, amazing staff!

Quite campground. Full hook ups. 15, 30, 5p amp electrical, water, sewer , but no phone or internet. That's the best part. Good place to disconnect and listen to nature.

Cool little county park with some full hook up spots. Nice level concrete pads. Non hook up spots are dirt with some general use water. Nice oak trees sprawling through the park. Great creek when flowing.

The RV resort has electric and water at your sites. There is drinking water, propane filling and dumping area, a mini mart and a laundry facility. The bathrooms are clean with flush toilets and showers. If the place was full it would feel cramped, however I was there during the week with about 1/3 filled. It is difficult to get to the beach. Once going down the hill from the park, you walk about 2 football fields to cross safely at a light. Otherwise you dodge traffic on a very busy road. The road noise isn’t too bad, tho it wasn’t great. The prices are a bit steep, however you get a lot of amenities. Everything was nice and clean, I just wished the beach access was better.

We stayed at Rancho Oso for two weeks. We chose it because it was near Santa Barbara. And it was affordable (with Thousand Trails). So near to Santa Barbara is a relative term. It’s a 35 minute drive on a lovely windey mountain road. Beautiful drive!!! The problem was the resort does not have wifi or Verizon cell service. So I had to commute daily, I work remotely. If you want remote this is good. The other problem was ants. The 2nd day we came back and we were infested. We were able to move spots but what a hassle. We used all of our available poisons (windex, bug spray, rubbing alcohol) to kill or drown them. Then vacuumed for hours. It took two weeks before they were gone. The resort knew they had a problem but didn’t really help. So we recommend you be proactive and watch for them and maybe spray your perimeter occasionally. So no wifi and cell service - on them. They need to fix this.
Ant infestations- they should spray. Hot, dry, things closed because of Coronavirus and fire risk - not on them.
If you want remote, it’s good.

The most fantastic thing about this RV spot is the location - directly facing a large, beautiful, clean beach with built in fire rings, a very long bike bath and bike rental kiosk. You can step out of your RV and be right on the beach in minutes, for long walks, biking, sunbathing etc. The bathrooms were clean and park is located close to many LA attractions. Also, RV parking is very limited in this area - it is LA. The downsides are that it is basically parking lot camping and you are directly under the LAX flight path which means large and noisy keys overhead all day long. For us, the pros outweighed the cons. We quickly were able to ignore the airplanes and being able to walk out and do my morning yoga on a freshly raked beach was heaven!

Large water district camping outside Ojai Ca. Full hook ups at most sites. $50 a night plus extra for tow vehicle. 8 areas to to choose from. Water park in summer, disc golf, fishing, boating, home of the ‘84 Olympic rowing competition. Gates close at 10 pm and had to park outside when I didn’t get back in time and walk in. Dirt and grass sites depending on where you choose. Many amenities

The RV park has a hookup area and a dry camping area. The hookups are full of large rigs, very close one with another, in a parking lot style. The dry camp provides much more space, but only relatively small RVs.

Pros: The park is right next to the beach, walk 1 minute and you're there. There's also a bike path that goes for miles both north or south - great for an early workout. Restrooms are clean and have showers.

Cons: You will hear each and every if the planes taking off from LAX, but at one point you don't hear them anymore. It was not really annoying, but that flight at 5a was...

We were referred to Lake Casitas by several people. We went for a four day three night camping trip in July '18. They have different camp sites depending on the needs of the campers, such as RV hookups and whatnot. We are relatively new at camping and were looking for a nice time to relax and enjoy nature. Our kids and our dogs really enjoyed it. We liked that the campsite was spacious and had lots of shade. There weren't many bug or flies, which was great. The park has a tiny water park. Cute and perfect for families with small children. My son is 11 and all he could do was the lazy river. The actual park was so big and it was filled to capacity. It was difficult to enjoy nature. There was people everywhere. Also, the weather was hot and dry, which created a lot of fine sand-like dirt lift when cars drove by. My teens loved being able to ride their bikes around. The water level in the river is so low it made me feel sad. The place has showers, but depending on your site, one might end up very far to walk. Restrooms were scarce, but in between they put potable toilets; not fun when it's nearly 100 degrees. The place is great if you enjoy meeting new people, hanging around the bonfire, and I heard it's good fishing. I did not like how packed it gets. It felt like I was in my back yard and too much noise pollution. Water park left much to be desired and wish there was swimming in the lake.

This quirky campground was safe, and that was what I needed while visiting friends in LA. This isn't a self-park park...the spaces are so close together that they use a cart to park you. On the upside, the bathrooms and showers were clean and plentiful, there was an area at the back of the park that was fenced for pups, and although the spaces were small, the park was landscaped such that you had some privacy. On the downside, the park is right next to the departure/arrival runway for Burbank and so if you don't fancy airplanes, you may not appreciate the noise. There is quite a bit of noise, but then again, you are in downtown Burbank. The owner is quite a character and told me that they even have an entertainment space where they offer musical performances, plays, etc. by local artists. He also mentioned that most of the park's customers were long-term residents that support the local production companies. I'm not sure if I would stay there again, but then again I'm not sure I'm interested in visiting Burbank again either.
