The steep access road into Faria Beach Park drops sharply from Highway 101, requiring careful navigation for larger RVs through a tight turn that has challenged many visitors. This county-managed campground sits directly on the Pacific coastline, where gravel pads accommodate both RVs with electric hookups and tent campers seeking oceanfront sites.
Sites pack closely together on the narrow coastal strip, but the proximity fosters a relaxed community atmosphere among beachgoers. "Campsite are close together but the view & vibe are awesome," notes michael P.. Most sites face the ocean, with stairs providing direct beach access for surfing, tide pooling at low tide, and beachcombing. The campground's angled layout helps create some privacy despite the tight spacing.
A small on-site cafe serves breakfast burritos and burgers during limited hours, popular with both campers and Highway 1 motorcyclists. The facility maintains clean restrooms and hot showers, though only one family shower serves the entire campground. Electric hookups support RV camping, while tent sites offer fire pits where campfires are permitted. Free WiFi and strong cell service keep campers connected.
Winter storms bring larger surf that attracts surfers to this stretch known as Pitas Point, making the campground busier during peak surf seasons. "For someone who needs to hear the ocean this is that spot," observes Care B.. Ventura lies 15 minutes away for groceries and supplies. Reservations are available and recommended during busy periods. The campground operates year-round, though late summer through fall typically offers the warmest weather for beach activities.
