Green Creek Group Campground is located about 12 miles from Bridgeport, California, at an elevation of 7,500 feet. Visitors enjoy fishing on Green Creek and hiking the Green Creek Trail. Recreation Green Creek offers rainbow trout fishing and can be easily accessed from within the campground. Green Creek Trail, for hiking and horseback riding, can be accessed just outside the campground entrance. It leads to Green Lake and further on to East Lake. Rugged peaks surround both large lakes, where hikers are rewarded with good backcountry fishing and spectacular scenery. Facilities This primitive campground contains two group sites that can accommodate 25 and 30 people, with large picnic tables, campfire circles, grills and food storage lockers. Vault toilets and trash collection are provided. Roads and parking spurs are dirt. Natural Features The campground is tucked between Green Creek and a rocky outcropping, among a forest of towering Jeffrey pines, which offer partial shade. At Paradise Shores, we believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. When you arrive, we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation. 

  

We hope Paradise Shores Camp becomes your home, as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. Excellent hiking& running trails, thousands of miles of ATV, dirt bike and mountain bike trails are accessible right from our camp or within a short drive from Paradise Shores. You may just want to lay in one of our hammocks and read for three days, enjoy the campfire and eat s’mores. The more adventurous may prefer kayaking, boating, world-class trout fishing, bird watching, rock climbing, natural water slides and stand up paddle boards. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in remote wilderness settings. 

  

The fish are plentiful here, the people are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is casual. So bring the whole family; with so many things to do, everyone is sure to have a memorable time. Paradise Shores RV Park

Buckeye Campground provides a quiet camping experience. The campground is on Buckeye Creek and is shaded by Jeffrey and Lodgepole pines. Hiking along Buckeye Creek into the nearby Hoover Wilderness. Hiking on Eagle Creek to the flanks of Eagle Mountain. Buckeye hot spring (140 degrees F) is just east of the campground. The spring comes out above the creek, over a rock overhang, which creates a cave-like area in the pool. Another small spring is upstream. This is a very popular spring year round. Fishing in Buckeye Creek offers different kind of fishing experience to get away from crowds. Trails are nearby to Yosemite. Nearest lakes are four miles from campground. Generally open in late May to late September, weather and condition permitting. ***NO drinkable water available.

Leavitt Meadows Campground is nestled amidst Jeffrey Pines alongside the West Walker River. Nearby Leavitt Meadows Trailhead is the starting point for a horse or foot trail along the West Walker River into an area of lake-filled basins. Many climbers use this trail to approach Tower Peak, which offers both technical climbs and scrambles. A permit is required for overnight use of the West Walker River area. Generally open in late May to late September, weather and condition permitting.

When you think Napa Valley, you think of wine, not camping. But you can plan a wine vacation from behind the flap of your tent. Set up in one of the valley’s campgrounds then visit the many casual tasting rooms that won't mind dirt under your fingernails.  When you tire of drinking wine, hike Mt. St Helena, a dormant volcano. Or walk through the Petrified Forest, a forest that was turned to stone by the last eruption of the volcano. Or visit California’s Old Faithful, a nearby geyser.


Once you have found camping in California’s Half Dome in Yosemite Valley, center yourself in Tuolumne Meadows, a more remote section of the park with its own collection of charming granite domes. Here's a secret: Instead of joining the crowds of day hikers on the meadow's most popular trails, follow the backpackers north on the famed John Muir Trail. The trail meanders through meadows, along a river below alpine peaks. And best of all, the first 8 miles of this trail out of Tuolumne are flat. Hike until you find a spot to watch the marmots, then return to your campsite. For more, backpack another 23 miles to Reds Meadow where you can catch a shuttle back up to Tuolumne.
