Camping on the islands in Mono Lake is allowed by permit only, except during April through August when the islands are closed to all boaters. Beautiful spot!
I came here late at night and there were plenty of places to park off the side of the driveway! They were all spread out so everyone got their privacy, and the views were amazing! Overlooking mono lake on one side and a mountain range on the other, definitely recommend. Super easy to find, right off of CA-120 and far enough to not hear the cars driving at night. Loved it here!
Great view and quiet
Great view of the sierras and mono lake. On a sandy bluff overlooking the lake. Lots of bugs, but wind and road conditions were good. July1st
Epic
Came up here in July. It gets warm during the day, but there is a good breeze during the day. And an even better breeze at night. lots of bugs. bring bug spray. 4wd not required, but might help. High clearance will help.
