Golf, a dog park, sports fields, and a pool with a two-story slide give Admiral Baker RV Park a recreational footprint that goes well beyond a standard overnight stop. The park sits in La Mesa, within easy reach of San Diego's freeways and major attractions, making it a practical base for RV travelers covering the region. Campers exploring places to camp near La Mesa will find this one stands out for the range of on-site activities available without leaving the property.
Sites are arranged in a horseshoe around a central grassy area with a playground, and the layout means campers on the outer ring need to walk through interior sites to reach the bathrooms and laundry. Crowding is a known factor. A notable share of guests are long-term residents, which can limit availability for short-stay visitors. The coded-entry bathhouse keeps facilities restricted to registered guests, and reviewers consistently note the grounds are kept clean. WiFi holds up well enough for remote work, though streaming has not been confirmed by reviewers.
Access is drive-in with full hookups available for RVs up to 40 feet, including water and sewer connections. The dog park is reserved for RV park guests. As one reviewer put it, "the road is crumbling and there have been several major water main leaks in 2024." Infrastructure issues are worth factoring into expectations. The park is open to civilians, though military and retired military members have priority booking. Reserve well in advance, especially for summer stays when the pool is typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The grounds are centrally located just a few miles away from the major San Diego freeways, Interstate 8 and Interstate 15, and only ten minutes away from the city's Snapdragon Stadium.
