      Bisbee RV Park

      Quiet and secure

Tranquil place for people and pets. Facilities, including dog park is clean and community if friendly. No worries except for no campfires and the nightly visits from javelinas. 😊

      Nice big lots!

Off the beaten trail a bit but we really enjoyed our stay here. Hiking trail entrances right in the park and it’s close to the San Pedro river.

There is a laundry/mail room with a restroom and then a separate bathhouse near the front. Nice little dog park for our pooch to run around too and we used the public firepit.

Kiddos said there were horseshoes to play.

      Rusty's RV Ranch

      Perfect place except for WiFi

We are birders and were happy with the proximity to many mountain canyons.  Our space was private with a nice patio.  Everyone was easy going and friendly.  The dog park was convenient and clean.

      Clean and Quiet

About a mile outside of Tombstone. Very clean, large/wide sites, nice pool, dog parks, large clubhouse with TV, shuffleboard, ping pong, etc. Very helpful staff. Lots of snow birds when we were here...we stayed 2 nights.

Met some friends here. We had a fire in the fire pit and hiked around. Dog park was nice and the bath house had clean showers and facilities. WiFi was free and good. Site was clean, level and pull through.

      Tombstone RV Park

      Awesome

My brother pulled into Tombstone AZ Brite and early walked around found a flyer for this park and called. No problem Dawn said see you when you get here. Dawn and Scott were the only two staff I dealt with but they were so friendly. I loved the on site laundry, heated pool, and two dog parks. If you're ever doing Historic Tombstone check this place out it's great.

      Neat Park

Stopping here didn’t disappoint! Nice spacious level sites. The animal features & dog park were added bonuses.  It felt like we were at a KOA being escorted to our sites.  The staff there was great!

      Tombstone RV & Campground

      Beautiful and clean, perfect location

Upon arrival, this park is absolutely gorgeous. Check-in was swift and easy, and we were escorted to our site by a friendly staff member. Although the park is big rig friendly, we found the turn into the row very tight for our 37ft 5th wheel and long tow vehicle (about 55ft total rig length). Once in the proper row, the turn into the pull through sites is easy.

Full hookups were all working smoothly, and although we did not use any of the facilities, they all looked beautiful and clean. The dog park on the far end was absolutely spotless. The lighting around the campground at night was charming and appreciated. Our site had a tree with a picnic table under it.

We were only a few minutes drive away from all the best attractions Tombstone has to offer, but the location is quiet and away from all the commotion.

      Tombstone Territories RV Park

This was a great place to spend the winter

We spent 4 months here over the winter months. Big spacious pull thru spots and very clean and well maintained. Clubhouse and pool were closed due to Covid over reaction, and the price was still the same without those amenities.

Park is out away from civilization, with a lot of hiking /biking trails. Laundry was acceptable but not exceptional. Several machines were out of order at any given time. At the end of the winter the work campers that did such a great job all left to go north and the services all but disappeared. The park almost completely emptied out by the 1st of May.

There was a nice little dog park that that actually had some nice grass that our dog definitely enjoyed.

The water pressure on the West end of the park was terrible at times but over all a great place to spend the winter.

    Guide to Douglas

The Douglas area sits at an elevation of around 4,200 feet in Arizona's Sulphur Springs Valley, creating a milder high desert climate than lower elevations. Winter temperatures typically reach the 60s during daytime hours, with cooler desert nights. The surrounding mountains provide a natural backdrop for pet-friendly camping spots throughout the region.

    What to do

Bird watching at Whitewater Draw WMA: Free overnight camping is available at this wildlife management area where thousands of Sandhill Cranes winter from October through March. "During the winter months October to march I think there are about 20000 Sandhills cranes super cool. It's in an open valley with distant mountians all around," notes camper Aron F. There's a parking lot with overflow areas suitable for overnight stays.

Mine tours near Queen Mine RV Park: Located adjacent to the historic Queen Mine with walking distance to Bisbee's attractions. "Very cool spot. Walking distance to a lot of what Bieber has to offer. Clean restrooms with shower stalls and laundry. Hosts are super nice," writes Ryan G. The Queen Mine offers underground tours of the former copper operation.

Visit farm animals: The Rocking T Cattle Ranch welcomes pets while providing a unique opportunity to interact with livestock. "Close to Douglas, Bisbee, Tombstone and the Chiricahua National Monument. Hila and Tony are great hosts, make you feel welcome. Both dry and FHU. Many farm animals to see," according to Greg H.

Scenic hiking trails: Upper Juniper Flats Road offers dispersed camping with panoramic views and hiking opportunities. "From sunset to sunrise it was absolutely an awesome spot to stay. Many spots, with or without shade. Great access roads with no issues for any vehicles," says Al L. The road climbs to higher elevations with views overlooking Bisbee and surrounding valleys.

    What campers like

Mountain views: The elevated terrain provides excellent scenery from most camping areas. At Upper Juniper Flats Road, "Views of Bisbee, Douglas and Sierra Vista. Lots of open sites when we visited. Much cooler weather than the lower valley," reports Taz G. The higher elevation offers relief from summer heat.

Wildlife viewing: The wetlands at Whitewater Draw attract more than just cranes. "This is a pullout along the dirt road to see the cranes. There is a pit toilet and garbage. The area is filled with cars parking so you may have to wait to pull into an area to park. Great spot to see the Sandhill Cranes and other wildlife," shares Jeff H.

Spacious campsites: Desert Oasis Campground provides ample room between sites. "Sites have spaces between rigs to breathe. There is a large club house for weekly get togethers with food. Pool tables, paddle ball, library, videos, showers, rest rooms," notes Sharon B. This contrasts with tighter RV parks in the region.

Community amenities: Several campgrounds offer gathering spaces for socializing. "Nice club House with pool tables, Dish TVs, library, dvds and pellet stoves is very cozy. Propane can be ordered and dropped at your door! Mountain Views all around and sunsets are amazing," says Mary F. about Desert Oasis Campground.

    What you should know

Weather considerations: The high desert experiences significant temperature fluctuations and wind. At Upper Juniper Flats Road, "The sunset was breath taking. Same for the sunrise. Feels like you're on top of the world. But the winds, oh those winds!!" warns Dave B. Winter nights can drop below freezing at higher elevations.

Road conditions: Some camping areas require careful driving. "The dirt road up is maintained, but it is loose when dry, and it has a steep grade in some spots with very tight switchbacks. I had a surprise snow in March of '22 that almost prevented me coming back down," cautions Pappy C. about Upper Juniper Flats Road.

Limited facilities at dispersed sites: Free camping areas typically lack services. "This would be a good overbite spot. There's just a parking lot with a few spots and an overload lot. There were quite a few people already there," notes Tracy T. about Whitewater Draw WMA.

Seasonal crowds: Bird watching locations become congested during peak seasons. "There is a pullout along the dirt road to see the cranes. The area is filled with cars parking so you may have to wait to pull into an area to park," shares Jeff H.

    Tips for camping with families

Club house activities: Double Adobe Campground and Shotgun Sports offers a quieter setting with family amenities. "I really love this place! I spend my winters here. The weather is nicer than in the valley. The owners are wonderful. Cost is reasonable. Fantastic scenery. My dog loves it here!" says MaryEllen K.

Educational opportunities: The historic mining town of Bisbee provides learning experiences for children. "Small rv park, 25 level back in sites. Easy back in. Gravel. Full hook ups. 30 amp only. Dated bathrooms but very clean and functional. Very friendly staff. Walking distance to Old Bisbee business district. Queen mine adjacent to park. Tours available," shares Sean E.

Pet walking areas: Most campgrounds accommodate pets with designated spaces. "From the moment I drove in I knew this was going to be an okay RV park. I hate RV parks! I only stay in them to do laundry and take long hot showers. Super dog friendly, great clubhouse, hosts were fantastic and so willing to help. Great trails around the property to walk dogs!" notes Ellyce T.

    Tips from RVers

RV size limitations: Consider your vehicle dimensions when choosing camping locations. For Upper Juniper Flats, "Any 4WD vehicle and most pickups will be fine. I would not recommend for Class A. Class B is okay (4WD and/or good clearance a plus) and really know your rig for Class C. I would think any trailer longer than 25' is a no-go," advises Pappy C.

Hookup availability: Hidden Treasures RV Park offers full hookups but may have maintenance issues. "Hidden Treasures RV Park in Douglas, AZ, is within a gated community right on the Douglas golf course. One leg of the 50AMP receptacle on my pedestal did not work, and there was no one around to fix it, so I plugged it into a neighboring pedestal," reports Kenny.

Overnight options: Several locations offer convenient overnight stops. "This is a pullout along the dirt road to see the cranes. There is a pit toilet and garbage," notes Jeff H. about Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area, making it suitable for self-contained RVs needing a quick stopover.

Cell coverage: Connectivity varies by location. At Upper Juniper Flats, "Phone service is great- you might even be able to hear calls through dental appliances!" jokes Pappy C., indicating excellent reception at higher elevations.
