Hidden Gem

Camped here for proximity to the MD and WV high points, nice campground, clean showers, the electric hookups are not located in what you would call the right place (often opposite the trailer drivers side) but it’s workable with weird parking and extension cords. The trails lead through incredible…

Away but close

This site is tied to the hotel and you must park at hotel prior to entry. There are pull-in sites with full site hook ups at location. The views once hooked up are gorgeous but this is a tight fit especially for those with slides.

I’ll be coming back .

Nice, at the lake but not on the lake. There’s no swimming. No reservations. Friendly staff, nice sites, 54 full hook up, 6 no hookups

Roomy park

Loved my stay at Audra State park. We were right on the river, surrounded by trees and could barely see the neighbors. Good walking trails nearby. It had a small camp store, and was dog friendly. I would definitely go back. The only warning is the road is narrow and bumpy so big rigs be cautious.

Refreshing creekside sites

My campsite was on the river, which was nice, but people did come through my campsite at times b/c it was easier to get out there. The site was all gravel and shaded. The people running the camp store were lovely. I had my dog and the campground is very dog-friendly. Recommend this campground to…

Great Campground!

I went on my first solo camping trip to Spruce Knob and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The camp sites were spacious enough and spread out well so I still had a certain level of privacy. Spruce Knob Lake was a great spot for Milky Way star gazing. On my way in, the road was a bit rough and smacked…

Quiet mountainside camping

Great little campground in the middle of WV. Just off Highway 79 but far enough away you feel like you are in the wilderness. The campground has 4 distinct areas for rigs which keeps it from feeling it is a RV parking lot. Most sites are pull through with full hook ups. You check in at the hotel…

Family and Adult Group Friendly Campground in Beautiful Surroundings

I’m a full-time RVer, and I typically stay about a month at each campground. I was at five River Campground for the entire month of June, and it was great!!! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The electric, sewer, and water hook ups work well, and the RV sites are fairly level. Picture…

Central location for exploring the outdoors

Canaan Valley has 3 loops of sites with hookups as well as a few primitive tent sites. There’s a centrally located bath house with flush toilets and hot showers. Many of the sites are pull-through with parking parallel to the loop road. I was on the last loop in a pull-through site and the main…

Beautiful and secluded

About 7+ miles in from the town of Durbin on a dirt road (not sure how that would go in an RV but easy in a small vehicle). Beautiful dispersed camping near a creek in dense, lush forest. Not much for views and only stayed one night so didn’t get to hike but it was a perfect, quiet spot for an…

Beautiful little campground

We camped here in May 2021 for the first time and loved it. Our site was beautiful with a view of the woods. The campground has a little camp store which is unusual for such a small campground. Lots of great hiking and the Coopers Rock Overlook is a must see. The road to the campground has no…

Wonderful first visit!

Older playground, but good enough for kiddos. Mini golf course, rock wall, and civil war reenactments when we came.

Tons of Mountain Bike trails, indoor and outdoor pools.

Beautiful location, all site with electric

Blackwater Falls offers 2 loops with sites providing water and electric. There have been some recent upgrades before opening for summer 2021, so all sites are now electric. They were not careful about the placement of hookups, so for some of the pull-through sites, they are on the wrong side of the…

Quiet, well maintained rustic campground

Admittedly, we had awful weather - it rained more than 50% of the time.  The weather ruled out our main purpose for being their which was astrophotography at Spruce Knob Lake and doing some hiking.   That said, we had a lovely walk-in site with a nicely situated tent pad, fire ring and large picnic…
