Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

"The Cattails," a Peak Portfolio Signature Tentrr Campsite:

Located above the wetlands & looking down on the beaver preserve, The Cattails is situated near a fabulous, federally protected wetland, the "Stick Marsh," which is not only full of cattails, but also beavers, muskrats, turtles, & many species of wildlife! View it all from this campsites dry, superb flat ground all while overlooking fabulous Dameron Mtn. Running water and outdoor shower are provided on site, as well as drive-up parking.

Our Signature sites come with everything offered through a Tentrr Signature Site as well as some cushy extras most do not: Generous fire wood, small battery fan: 2 battery LED lights, mint scented trash bags (to scare away the critters), matches & lighter, fire starters, sponge, toilet paper, environmentally friendly coconut oil body wash & shampoo, bug spray, charcoal, butane burner, coffee percolator. There is also a small amount of utensils, plates, coffee cups & cookware. Bedding is also offered as an Extra. Each site is also sprayed with insect and bug repellant regularly. For those who need special accommodations or certain requests, please ask--we may be able to accommodate. None of our campsites are ADA-friendly, as they are in the woods, and in the hills around the Falls. We also provide portable, commercial Porto-O-John toilets at the check-in barn, & down near the Falls viewing area, which all guests may use. 

If you desire complete privacy, "The Cattails," is the most private, best family/group option, as it's on relatively flat ground. This site is also overlooking The Beaver Preserve & is located near the kayak launch that guests may use to explore the Beaver Lake & wetland. We offer two, free single kayaks for guest use. This site is one of four through Tentrr, & although this preserve is private and an exclusive property only for Tentrr & Airbnb guests, there may be other campers, fly fishers, or activity going on elsewhere by the Falls or on the land, as we are an active nature preserve. Most guests hardly see each other, nor are campsites visible from each other, but you do not have complete unfettered access to the whole property. Your booking only ensures that you have your site reserved not the whole property. The property is open only to reserved guests, so there are no crowds. 

Depending on the weather and vehicle, you normally drive within yards of the campsite. In a two-wheel drive vehicle you may wish to park by the entrance in our designated area.

Please arrive whenever you like, so long as it is after 3 PM; checkout is at 11:30 AM. Beau is often around the property, & will stop by to greet you, & answer any questions--usually after you've arrived at your site, & sometime in the late afternoon to early evening. You are welcome to arrive earlier & stay later, provided you ask, & we don't have back-to-back bookings. 

Please put our address, 1100 Kanawha Trail, Covington, VA 24426, into your GPS before losing service or leaving home, as our entrance is on a seemingly hidden, & often missed curve. 

There are two black signs on white fencing that say "Beaverdam Falls" on each side of the driveway at the property entrance. For reference, our airbnb rental, The Earlehurst Cottage, a white craftsman-style home and it's white 3-bay barn is directly above the driveway entrance on a hill. Look for the sign "1100 Kanawha Trail" on the side of the road, immediately next to the property driveway.

Be careful! They do bite! Beaverdam Falls is also home to an active lick for wildlife, and one can also stubble upon various small ponds and creeks that trickle out of our mountains. The rich biodiversity of the land also includes a gigantic sulphur cave that is as rare as the falls are beautiful. Beaverdam Falls are notable for not only the clear blue water, but also for the lore that surrounds their history. Gazed on by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor during their visit to America and fished by the likes of Robert E. Lee and even perhaps Thomas Jefferson, many notable people as well as local inhabitants have enjoyed the Falls for centuries during their visits to the famous spring resorts in the neighboring area. This site requires a 4x4 or AWD vehicle to drive up directly to the site. If you do not have one, we're more than happy to escort you down & your stuff via golf cart at check-in & checkout--just ask! Please do not climb any of the Travertine-Marl rock formations around the Falls or in the basins around them; due to the lack of stone around the Falls, the mineral rock--under constant adaptation & change as with the water--it can be very brittle, unstable, & dangerous. 

Abide by the swimming rules as posted. 

We ask that you also do not damage any plants, carve your name into any trees, or carry any animals out with you! 

Bring good shoes for treading water: you'll want to LIVE in the creek! But, be careful, the mineral rocks are slippery and watch for the waterfall and creek ledge!

The "Top of the Rock" campsite is situated on amazing ground! It's situated just above the largest waterfall on fabulous high travertine rock, but tucked away far enough to still retain privacy and seclusion from the main viewing area below, which is just a short walk down a gravel trail.  The rope bridge is also just a stones throw away. This stellar site has a full frontal view of the main water and creek basins below but is not right on top of the falls, so as to be too loud or too visible. And for the most part you are nestled under shade trees and are at the best crossroads on the property to take advantage of all the views and sites. Running water and outdoor shower are provided on site, as well as drive-up parking (4x4 recommended; 2x4 vehicles can park at the check-in barn if desired).

Upon arrival you will see a check-in barn. Check-in is contactless, & there you will find information to be read, a wifi hotspot, & additional camp supplies for purchase. Sign-in the guest book, fill out our waiver, & then you may proceed directly to your campsite. 

Please arrive whenever you like, so long as it is after 3 PM; checkout is after 11:30. Beau is often around the property, & will stop by to greet you, & answer any questions--usually after you've arrived at your site, & sometime in the late afternoon to early evening. You are welcome to arrive earlier & stay later, provided you ask, & we don't have back-to-back bookings. 

Please put our address, 1100 Kanawha Trail, Covington, VA 24426, into your GPS before losing service or leaving home, as our entrance is on a seemingly hidden, & often missed curve. 

There are two black signs on white fencing that say "Beaverdam Falls" on each side of the driveway at the property entrance. For reference, our airbnb rental, The Earlehurst Cottage, a white craftsman-style home and it's white 3-bay barn is directly above the driveway entrance on a hill. Look for the sign "1100 Kanawha Trail" on the side of the road, immediately next to the property driveway.

All sites are about 7-minutes at max from the check-in barn.

Tentrr Signature Site - Beaverdam Falls - Top of the Rock - Coleman Outfitted Site

Almost heaven on the banks of the Greenbrier River. Our campsites are on the historic Hinton-Alderson Airport and overlook the scenic Greenbrier River.  Only an hour and 15 minutes drive away from New River Gorge National Park. Look under Extras to see local amenities such as Kayaking, tubing, and canoeing.  We have 3 sites at the airport, Cub, Stearman, and Skyhawk. There are over 100 yards between the sites, so your privacy is guaranteed! Firewood is on-site for the firepit/grill.  The front of the tent faces the river, and the porch provides a scenic spot to watch the river flow!  The Greenbrier River is a great place to fish for smallmouth bass. You can obtain a fishing license online by going to https://www.wvhunt.com. The airport does not have fuel, but KLWB has fuel, rental cars, a 7000-foot runway, and is only 18 nautical miles away! Also close to the KLWB airport is a fabulous WV  Distillery (Smooth Ambler). If you fly into camp, you can get a rental car at KLWB and easily get to white water rafting and other outdoor adventures at New River Gorge National Park. But if you want to stay local, there are several rafting companies that will provide you with a variety of watercraft, pick you up at the airport, and drop you off at a put-in location. They will meet you at the end of your float and return you to the airport! See the Extras tab for their names and numbers! Once you book your site, the camp keeper will email you information about local activities and services.

There is a hot shower and flush toilet for your use at the hangar!

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling 
-Lanterns and lighting

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory!
