Small area, small lake

This is a small little area off the road not too far. There was only one other person there fishing when we were there. The campsites are close together with no privacy between. They look big enough for a tent and this would be a fun area to float the small lake in a tiny boat and fish. We followed…

Super pretty

Good for a quick stop on your way to a next destination! Rocky in some parts but the cliffs are quite a view and daring!

Decent place in a whim

Interesting spot at the bottom of the coulee. Windy, as is everything in Vantage. Walk in spots. Walk-in is about 100 yards. Quiet. Some wild life. Frogs and sheep. Good place to drop in and find a spot last minute depending on the day and time of year. Tent spots are nice bordered with pea gravel.…

Tranquil

Was amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was here. I had a smaller camp trailer that didn’t really fit but I was the only one there. The 5 spaces are designed for cars and tents. The lake was so tranquil and the lake cliffs were pretty magnificent to boat up against. All kinds of birds, waterfowl,…

Friendly area

Very nice state park. Well managed. Clean. Fishing was fair for walleye, bass. Hiking was abundant. Easy in and out. Could use cable along with water, sewer, electric, hook ups.

Love this place!

We have stayed here a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay every time. It books up quick on weekends, reservations recommended. Great lakes for fishing close by. Make sure to secure down any camping gear/tents/etc as the wind tends to howl through this area at night.

Worth the proximity and the experience and the view darn it!

We went pre-c19 and had a blast. It was cool being able to walk to and from the event, especially if you take advantage of the pre and post event camping. Waaaaay too crowded, so I'll look forward to next time when we aren't so in each other's grill.

Hidden Suprise

Arrived around 2pm to the Douglas Creek Trailhead. The 8 miles of road H to get to Douglas Creek Rec area is gravel, primitive -no signs. Hiked the canyon for ~3miles. Lots of groundhogs and birds. Campsites are roughly half mile from the parking lot for hiking. The gravel road here is much…

Super clean, nice bathrooms with showers

Stayed here while in the area to do a trail run. The campground is super well maintained, with plenty of parking at every spot. If you are tent camping, they have ~16' gravel pads for a tent at each site.

You will likely be surrounded by moderately high-end RVs. We definitely felt like the…

Great dispersed camping on the East side of the Cascades

Camped here in February and November and in generally recommend it for fall and spring. Avoid summer when it gets too hot and ticks and rattlesnakes are around. It gets cold at night so come prepared.

There are several established sites near Ancient Lakes and Dusty Lakes that can be accessed from…

Amazing lake & Butte View

We have visited here twice, once when it was hot during the summer and once this last spring.  The spring time was amazing! Granted, it was rather chilly and not a whole lot of people there but it was so quiet and the water was still partially frozen over so the view was incredible from the top of…

Would pick else where

A lot of rules at this camp ground because it’s attached to a county park. No alcohol at all and they check Quiet hours are VERY strict even when no one else is by you. You can camp by the water but can’t swim by the camp ground only In designated swim zone

Very Nice Stay

We made a 2 day stop here during the smoky week in September. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds we’re extremely well kept and the pads had all the hookups for the RV. We used all of the biking trails and will be back.

Lonesome

If you like being almost completely alone, this is your spot! They sites aren’t very huge and private, but that doesn’t matter because you will most likely have the whole campground to yourself. Only a fisherman or two may be there. The lakes crystal clear water is beautiful. There is a pretty nice…
